I really like the new format of putting the unboxing and review in one. It always felt a bit archaic to have them separate, as if you thought RUclips videos were still limited at 11 minutes. Hope this format continues!
Ehhhh, for some content they might as well be with how the algorithm works. Sometimes it favors big bulk videos, other times it wants brief clips to be shotgunned all over recommendations.
9:15 Don’t forget the effect parts are also available separately as the Figure Rise Effect Jet effects. Unfortunately, you only get three in a pack. But you get the choice of blue or yellow.
Finally you reviewed the kit, and honestly for me personally, as I built it already, the rg hi nu is truly a work of art, it looks beautiful, armed to the teeth, articulated, and overall an awesome real grade, I was planning to get an action base for the hi nu but unfortunately I decided to cancel the order due to excessive delays, but man what a model kit
Back when CCA and BC were released, there was only "the 20m Nu Gundam", with the difference that in BC, it was drawn with a little more chonk. That chonkier design was retconned later into its own design, the Hi-Nu, and until now, its height is what it was printed in the BC book: 20m. Later, they retconned the movie Nu Gundam into being 23m, but never did so for the Hi-Nu.
This was my 3rd real grade I've ever built. I fell in love about 20 mins into the build. I also had to order some delpi waterslide decals for mine. The stickers just cheapen the kit imo. Real grades of this caliber need waterslide decals included
For some reason the more I see the more I actually like it without the gold painted. The more muted orange coppery look really gives off the vibe of old 80s space tech, which is my favorite gundam aesthetic next to military bot
I just finished this kit myself. I absolutely hated the sticker decals. So I waited 3 weeks for a 3rd party water slide decals and honestly. Get water slide decals for this kit. I elevates the kit even more.
Really looks like the RG's have had some serious work done on them. this looks fabulous! I have built that Char RG and while it holds up well, surviving a lot of moves. Just seems like this Hi-Nu shows how far they've come!
when I hear "the beam rifle can be as powerful as warships mega particle cannon" how does it exactly fire said beam? Is it a continuous beam/gerobi like the wing gundams buster rifle or is it a amped up charge shot that expands rapidly? Tbh there's a lot questions I have on certain details on mobile suit weapons. Like how does the dober gun from Wing able to fire both beams and ballistic rounds, how strong does a mobile suit have to be in UC to support an e-cap powered rifle, what does it mean when the Nemo is able to use GM II's beam rifle more effectively then the GM II, how does a mobile suit without an e-pac beam rifle charge their built in e-cap beam rifle? The things that keep me up at night when I read the gundam wiki lmao.
For the mega particle cannon one, its a charge up shot or a single beam rifle shot I believe. The Hi nu and the Nu gundam's BR can switch between two firing modes. The charged up or single fire shot and the burst fire mode where it can act like a M16A1 in video games.
Even as a Gundam fan, I have accepted that some of the thing in the series does not make any sense at all. Minovsky particle/GN particles /Ahab particles: Tomino's magical pixie dust
if you have netflix try watching chars counter attack, the Nu gundam will shoot beams of different sizes. Most of time power output depends on the reactor of the Mobile Suit. and the Nu gundam is top of its line during that war.
Truly a masterpiece, couldn’t get mine on September despite the fact that I went to the store 30mins after it opened, but I managed to get one in December but the cheeky bastards at Amazon charged me the retail price lmao
Given how great this kit is altogether, I feel a little bad about having spent crazy money on the P-Bandai Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher, because with them together, I can barely do any fun posing with the Hi-Nu at the moment using its in-box accessories. But the two together DO make for a great display piece!
All I can tell you is most of the real grade zaku who's are about the same they're not too bad pain yes but not too bad to build once you get the hang of it
First of all, thanks for not milking this for two videos. I never watch the unboxings, apart from by mistake. I never paint my gunpla - I build gunpla specifically to get AWAY from painting 40k, to have a nice exquisite treat of a model that you can play with, pose and display. However, the metal injection plastics are gaudy and awful looking, so for the first time I sanded down the bits, airbrushed them and painted the gold in a more subtle tone (as well as the silver vents, turning them gold) and painted the silver parts in vallejo air 'exhaust manifuld' brown/grey metallic which looks fantastic. For me this is Nr. 3 on the RG top list, behind the near flawless Zeong and the actual flawless Force Impulse (though I personally like next to nothing about it, other than the quality and tolerances). I think it's better balanced than the Sazabi and Nu gundam, which puts it ahead. The antennas on the wing binders are dumb/ugly. This kit has so much part separation, but the blue top of the binders are two shells put together which is pathetic when you consider how large and prominent these parts are. The tolerances are great for snapfitting the kit, very tight. Btw, note how the fin funnels aren't symmetrical when they're stored. Drives me up the wall. The height discrepancy doesn't bother me at all, it's a redesign. You could complain about the same about the Nu Ver Ka looking so different from the old MG/movie.
Well, aside from that horrible "gold" plastic (the silver ones are quite forgivable IMO), this for me has become the best RG kit thus far alongside the Nu and the Sazabi. I also love how they remedied the Hi-Nu's upwards head articulation by making its "gundam mullet" articulated.
Can’t wait for the HWS for this RG Hi-Nu, you’d think by now Bandai would have dedicated pieces for the fin funnels if you wanted them displayed. I’d love to have a clear ring like the AGE-FX to display the funnels on, or something reminiscent of the Quebeley funnel effect parts.
The Hi-V Gundam never made much sense as being shorter Actually, when I looked at the Hi-V,I first thought it was as tall or taller, but I was disappointed to learn that it was around 9 feet shorter
The best things is you can paint inside part of opening armor gimmick to give it a vibe of having psycho plate inside. Cause you know what If I have either of nu or hi nu, that what will i do. And wualah I have nu or hi nu Gundam with NTD mode in it 👀
My favorite part of the build has to be that amazing shield. Anyways, I think I finished my RG Hi Nu in 4 days, but only because I have the weird compulsion to panel line the armors before putting them together and I built the back pack first because it reminded ne of a yugioh card. Plus my Kotobukiya Mega Man X arrived and I kinda wanna build it first
Hope you get the expansion part for this Hi-Nu Gundam because that looks sick... Also, I really hope RG Sinanju gets a 2.0 treatment... That machine's super pretty, but ruined by the flimsy Advanced MS frame and a few loose parts (handcuffs and the knee armor)...
I'm not even sure the RG line is even 1/144 scale anymore, they kinda throw that out of the window with the RG Evangelions mind you are meant to be way bigger in size compared to Mobile Suits.
the evas from the anime are supposed to be 40 mts tall, while the rebuild ones are 80 mts divide that by 144 and it should be their size on the model kit form
My best guess as to why you'd justify all those opening/transforming panels is to eject waste gasses/heat or to expose thrusters for more mobility, but shield them when not in use.
Man, yeah, the Hi-Nu is kind of incredible. I ended up painting the gold in a proper gold, the silver in silver, and the blue in a metallic blue paint. And I really love how it came out. I left the lavender, the white, and all of the inner frame as their base plastic, but I thought those parts looked fine as-is. I only painted the blue on a whim, but yeah, it looks really nice with the metallic fleck. Definitely worth at least painting the gold and silver though because the gold is UGLY and the silver needs the work.
I'm known in my local community as some kind of speed-building god because apparently 3 hours for an HG Origin Zaku is insane, and this thing took me EIGHT HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES. This thing is a big time-sink to build.
The only reason I'm not salivating over this nutty kit is because those gigantic fuel tanks (way bigger than the manga or the original HG/MG) just make it look too unwieldy to deal with.
I finally put the RG Nu in beast mode with the Susan Model HWS and it's def a big boi now. Just gotta get the Hi-Nu and do the same. Get that aftermarket hyper mega cannon for both which copies the metal build cannon and its on like Donkey Kong.
I currently own two of the HWS versions of the Hi Nu ver Ka, so not quite sure i require this version. Would have preferred a purple colour scheme over the blue too.
The Hi Nu has one sided beam sabres in the source material unlike the Nu. It was a long time ago when I read the manga but I am pretty sure the Hi Nu never had a double bladed sabre.
Thanks for the review on the RG Hi-Nu Gundam; simple, brief, and brought out its pros and cons in a relatable vibe... Wishlist unit for now- still gathering ways and means to have it Any wheezle, till the next Gunpla Reviews- and of course the MS Tech History Talks... BTW: Which Nu/ RG Nu is better- Full Armor Nu Double Fin Funnel Type OR Full Armor Hi-Nu + Hyper Mega Particle Bazooka Type ?!
Quick question, if I want to repaint the gold parts with a Gundam Marker GM04, can I apply it straight to the parts or do I need to apply a base coat(?) Like repainting it first with a white gundam marker then do it with gold?
Idk why but the handle slot on my bazooka is loose, its been that out of box. I've tried diffirent hands for the Hi Nu and it's just loose. This kit took me a lot of times since I panel lined the inner frame of legs, all of them.
What are some of your sources for Gundam lore? Do you get most of your information from manga and MSV or do you get that information elsewhere? I’m particularly curious where you got the GM Cannon deployment numbers
Since you're currently experimenting with your format, I figure I'd give some feedback. I waited 3 months for my battlogue kits, but consider that there are a TON of shipping containers stuck in the ports right now. Everything is gonna take a while right now.
love that "amuro absorbed by psychoframe" joke!!! liked specifically for that moment
Technically speaking
The kit itself is the figure
Or the inner frame,more accurately
Yeah Amuro did get absorbed RIP but his consciousness is still alive…

This was my first ever Real Grade, and tbh, I don't think life is gonna get any better than this. It's peaked!
For me Hi nu is the second RG i got after Tallgeese. (Even if it still in the box cause doesn't time to build it 😑)
My next aim is RG God Gundam.
Don't forget to get the other 2 after this kit. Sazabi and Nu itself were once the king of RG.
Same
The engineering on this thing cannot be understated. Absolutely outstanding model kit that anyone who enjoys building gunpla should experience.
9:15 Don’t forget the effect parts are also available separately as the Figure Rise Effect Jet effects. Unfortunately, you only get three in a pack. But you get the choice of blue or yellow.

I never understood why Hi-nu had to be a heck of a lot smaller than the Nu-gundam. Nu's Height is part of the reason it evokes power.
Back when CCA and BC were released, there was only "the 20m Nu Gundam", with the difference that in BC, it was drawn with a little more chonk.
That chonkier design was retconned later into its own design, the Hi-Nu, and until now, its height is what it was printed in the BC book: 20m.

I like how your rotating stand is like "SHAKYSHAKYSHAKYSHAKYSHAKY". It gives the model just that tiny bit of added sass.
For some reason the more I see the more I actually like it without the gold painted. The more muted orange coppery look really gives off the vibe of old 80s space tech, which is my favorite gundam aesthetic next to military bot

They do. I went with delpi myself. The stickers cheapen the kit soo much imo
Excellent Nu format to go with the Nu Gundam. Format seriously good and suits your sense of humor. Excited to see more

I've watched this 3 times already. Such a beautiful kit.
About time someone used the actual CCA Nu theme in a video instead of the SRW version lol
Loving the new review style!!! Very entertaining! Great job! Keep this up!
With that huge wings there, I wish they made an RG Master Gundam wings fully transformable, and its wing joints sturdy as the inner frame. 🤩

Cause the early RG need them so much.

Nu and Hi Nu are truly my favorite Gundam designs.

The arm machine gun actually looks around the same caliber as the 60mm Vulcans, if not a bit larger.
