Lin is so good and you can just tell that he absolutely loves what he does. He’s never in autopilot, really loving and enjoying every minute of it, definitely impact how we connect with his songs.
Something about “we know the way” just hits differently
if you put burn you have to put “who lives, who dies, who tells your story?” it’s such a good connection especially with “i put myself back in the narrative, i stopped wasting time on tears. i live another 50 years. it’s not enough”

I wish It’s Quiet Uptown was listed; Pleasantly surprised that Blackout is listed but I absolutely love the “look at the fireworks” section and the sound of chaos he paints with music. How did I not know "Found/Tonight" existed?! I honestly think "Story of Tonigh
t" is one of the most underappreciated songs from Hamilton (I mean, there are 46 wonderful tracks to weed through, but still) and I LOVE "You Will Be Found". That one harmony in the video gave me chills.

Lin-Manuel is my favorite song writer. He's so good at rapping. It just rolls off his tongue so flawlessly. Hamilton gives me chills and makes me sob several times, everytime. And then Encanto .. ugh every song in that movie has all my ❤️❤️

Blackout is my fave song from In The Heights Movie but best choreo belongs to 96,000 and best cinematography is When the Sun Goes Down
"Bigger" should be top 5, "Satisfied" is my fave from Hamilton and I am shocked that it didnt make top 5.
Love blackout, but personally I'm a huge fan of Carnaval Del Barrio. And the movie version of WTSGD was amazing for sure.

"Wait for It" is such an amazing song. Gets me choked up every time. Hell, damn near every song Lin writes gets me choked up.
I missed having “Hurricane” on this list! It so sets up how and why Hamilton was so driven as well as his downfall.
Personally, i would have loved One Last Time. I think it's fascinating that he used real excerpts from Washington's resignation speech, and the way that Hamilton speaks the lines, indicating he wrote them, while Washington songs them, because he's delivering the speech to the American people. It's utter brilliance!
I always felt like I was the only one who loved & knew how important “Hurricane” is. I’m glad I’m not the only one, it’s such an underrated song it’s incredible!

The first time I saw "Hamilton" (on Disney+ like most people) I was wondering where this musical had been in my life.
No honorable mentions??? There are plenty of comments from people missing their favorites, and the amount of songs he's written (or co-written) definitely gives enough material for it!
My thoughts on the list:
- SO glad they included Found/Tonight! I can't listen to that song without putting it on repeat at least 5x.
- "Promising effort" when talking about ITH? ...I just... Heights was when many fans found him for the first time, and even knowing how brilliant his other work is, it's still my personal favorite.
- Not getting to hear a single line from Benny in all the ITH clips hurt my heart, but I understand.
- MY MISSING SONG: *ALABANZA* . One of the single most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard in my life. Spoilers in some lyrics, yes, but not in the chorus. ABUELA CLAUDIA DESERVED BETTER.
This list is literally gonna be Hamilton, Moana, and In the Heights with a handful of random songs so they seem “well versed” in Lin Manuel Miranda songs 😂

Non-stop is just wonderful, suprised its not on this list. It sums up the whole first act (basically) with “Satisfied” “Helpless” “Wait for it” “My shot” “That would he enough” plus introducing us to the second act, Angelica sails to london, the federalist papers are written, and more!

As much as I love the film "In the Heights," three of my favorite Lin-Manuel Miranda songs of all -- "Sunrise," "Thousands of Stories," and "Everything I Know" -- were cut, and I think to the movie's detriment. These songs deserve to be known.

The most beautiful love duet ever written is "Sunrise" from In the Heights. But, since it was foolishly cut from the movie, nowhere near enough people know about it.
Lin is one of the best artists ever in my opinion. He’s so clever and meaningful with his lyrics. And he makes them all so emotional, no matter if it’s really happy, really sad, really exciting etc. He’s always so good at it. So glad I’m getting to grow up when he’s making music.

Most amazing of all is how through sheer determination, he went from singing like garbage to singing incredibly. Check out his cover of “Gethsemane” and then watch him as Piragua guy. An absolute inspiration.
Fun fact: The Reynolds scandal may have actually been a cover-up for a financial scandal the Hamiltons were in on. Since Hamilton never showed anyone the original copies of Maria Reynolds's letters, and the ones he gave the newspaper were weird in that they correctly spelled really long and complex words but would have things like 'rote' instead of 'wrote' and 'tim' instead of 'time,' leading some historians to think this was Hamilton imagining what an uneducated woman's writing would look like and lots of them sound like some of the few surviving love letters between Hamilton and Eliza. This would also explain why Eliza burned her letters.
No one really knows why Eliza burned her letters, but if the above is true... damn, girl!

WHAT? The Room Where It Happens and Non-Stop aren't on this list? Non-Stop, I can kinda understand, but the Room Where It Happens definitely deserved to be on this list.
This list needs updating as there are some great songs in both vivo and encanto that both came out since this list. Even if we focus on those older shows, I disagree with the order chosen from the existing list. I tend to forget song titles so describe them by key aspects instead. The king's song in Hamilton should have been higher up the list. You didn't include abeula's number used in the movie as her death song and there is also the carnavale song and salon songs that were better then some of those you picked out of hamilton. I find that while Hamilton does have some good songs, I favour in the heights and Moana higher in song selection. Still, I was pleasantly surprised to find out Lin Manuel wrote the Tony's opening so thank you for adding that as I love that song.
