Processing is really key to make fire melodies man. It isnt that hard :)

Me its like dude how did you do that?
seems pretty simple to me ngl

He still grabbed a kick drum sample but made the clap pattern first.

This is actually a really good guide, even though it is kind of vague. This is not for people who just started, but rather those who have struggled around and figured out a one or two things already.
Yeah I like to watch videos of other producers to get different ideas so my beats don’t all sound the same
that "sample" is hard af

Yea lol am broke
fl has pretty garbage default plugins for hiphop, and hes not sayin use those plugins specifically hes using them as examples. it's a how to not a trace this.
Lol
@@visualizersmusic me too lol
@@visualizersmusic u dont need to buy plugins tbh, you can use EQs and ones that are built in
Not that easy when the one making the tutorial has a million different plugins you dont have
LIVRE does pirate bay make it free or something?
@@Yetnag usually its cracked to make it fully functional.
I will say, he has quite an expensive plug in package. But I highly recommend buying all of your plugins. It makes a huge difference.
Arthur L i recommend buying them when you start making money with them, for not getting in trouble, but if you just want to play around and practice your skills just crack them, everybody does it, even nick mira has torrent installed on his computer lol
Arthur L i have serum, omnisphere, nexus, keyscape, a bunch of filters, a lot of packs, cypatics, etc fl studio full version and more things, all cracked, and i have a friend that is rich and have some of that things bought and they are the same and it sounds the same, for me the cpu its not a problem i have 8gb of ram and it goes fast

I see people saying this is too fast but honestly this is really helpful if you've watched enough tutorials already and just want the broadstrokes to pull things together
I just got fl studio today and ion even know how to add my drum kit into the piano thing

87 bpm is regular time. Half time is double that...which is 174, which means this isn't in the range you recommended. 140-160 would be 70-80 bpm. Not bashing, just trying to help bro.
@Ethan MW Again, just trying to help. It's not hard to say what you just said, in the video if that is indeed what he believes, but he didn't say any of that, so I said what I said. Take care.
@Ethan MW Another point...if you're stating that 70-80 bpm is the ideal range, it would make a lot more sense to make a melody 70-80 bpm to give an example of why 70-80 is ideal. I personally don't believe in sticking to that range. Plenty of beats (both trap and non-trap hip hop) are made above 80/160 and below 140/70. It's too restrictive to only stay between 140-160. The fact that the melody he came up with (great melody btw) was outside of that range (and your comment) really makes my point. I don't recommend staying in that range...good day sir/troll.
Imagine being this serious about math on a beatmaking video
@Ethan MW yes but he should've multiplied it by 2 not divide it by 2
@@crispyfishscale Bruh, it's a tutorial, so it helps. It's not serious, it's basic math with pitch changes AKA the foundation of music. If this bothers you, you'd hate to learn how to read music, which is understandable. It's why I stay away from teaching traditional music theory as much as possible, but when it comes to something like tempo, it's not hard to show someone to multiply or divide by 2 and giving it a name, which is all I did. The only thing I take serious is the music part. No one says you have to...just go have fun.
literally nothing tutorially about this at all, man is hella quick
exactly :(
Lucky they got a pause button
@@Aidankkfk but its hidden under the play button...why?
Lmfao that’s facts
To save time, use scale highlighter instead of pasting notes all over the piano roll. Again, not bashing, just trying to help.
Ian Ross how?
@@E_Rico In piano roll, go to the drop down menu, select "helpers," then select "scale highlighting," from there you can choose whatever key and scale you want to play in.
@ItaliaTemplar Knowing music theory is supposed to speed up your work flow, not slow you down. Manually making ghost notes is an extra step...plus if you look at the piano roll in the video, he already has other notes highlighted. So with the ghost notes plus the already highlighted notes, this is going to be confusing for people to see what notes they actually need. He made this video for others to learn, not for him. I'm self taught, play piano and bass guitar and I learned traditional music theory in college. I wouldn't let that stop me from letting others know there is a better way. Again, I'm here to help, not to bash anyone. I'm still humble enough to learn from others like Mai who may or may not be ahead of me, whether they know theory or not. I hope you do the same.
Ian Ross thanks man
@@E_Rico Just checked your channel. Super smooth vibes brotha! You've got a new sub. Keep doin your thing man!
4:38 "Pretty basic stuff right now", you lost me in the first minute 😂
There's a lot of criticism on how short the tutorial was but I honestly really liked that. I've just started out and just wanted a bit of direction and this was really helpful.
It took me about 45 minutes to find a damn video just like this! THANK YOU jesus! This is exactly what I needed to see to make some music :D

Yo Kyle this shit Krazy
Love how beat makers are friends unlike rappers
Hi
Kyle..... Love you man...
Irreversible Me Not true for all of us lol
I’m making fire beats cause this video taught me how to chop, create some dope sounds w piano and other instruments/tech, also going through the whole video shows you some different steps that make you more comfortable around FL. One night all it took! Now I’m comfy bro definitely deserved the sub and I’m looking forward for more.
People in the comments saying this is too simple or stuff like that, this is a tutorial on basics and it shows you the process. He’s not spoon feeding you, he’s teaching you to hold the damn spoon yourself lol
You probably have a ton of knowledge on this, it’s not that easy for beginners
simplicity is one of the main components to making something catchy. It can’t be an earworm if it’s too complex
So who tryna run Blackout wit me and Mai doe?
KBeaZy what’s good
Lemme run with you guys I got a couple beats in the vault I swear you’d like

Using loops makes it soooooo easy
@@hydrax000 dude I'm not sayin use just loops...like a drum loop or somthin chill tf out
@@setyeasty7703 if you use drum loops from some shitty pack then don't consider yourself a producer, atleast sample your own from an old song if your too lazy to make your own pattern
I disagree with all of you
Drum loops are actually pretty good if you EQ put the 808 and kicks

dude that beat was absolute fire
Its so crazy that in 1999 I created my own "software" idea without realizing it. Here we are 20 years later making beats on something that I thought of. Not saying that I am the only one who thought of this software base... Im about to start cooking up!
It’s collective consciousness
bruh when he was talking about pitching it n recording it again i was like "wait what is this man doing.." and after he chopped it up and put them together different i was like "BROOO OK waITT THAT WAS DOPE" LOL
I don't know anything about this stuff, I'm just here for dat 808.
good stuff man. thank you for the tips
I have learned so much from u, Mai. ur dope. Thank you 🙏

Yo man i love this vid.
Quick question, when you record the sample in edison. How do you get it in fruity slicer and get that melody chopped up and stuff. Tbf i think you went kinda quick on that part.
Appreciate anyone taking his time to help me.
Blesss!
Just render the loop as an audio file then double click the sample and open in fruity slicer
Watched 3 minutes and I already love your process, you've taught me so much already. Gave a thumbs up and smashed that sub button. Cheers man.
Your so educated with this software... Sick bro

thankyou for sharing this with us, your talanted bro, keep up the good work !!
Creative process takes time... Music making is not abt profitability imo
Speeding up your workflow allows you to make more stuff
+Paul Mercier Your mind could generate an epic melody in 10 seconds, or in 10 years. Your point is just invalid.
seems like yall forgot that beats are still music, and that music is an art, an art that inspires and brings life to people, pumping it out as quickly as possible like a factory kills the creative process and makes songs in general less interesting to listen to, thats why this "type beat" trend is so fucking bad
@@zoinksboy3786 "type beats" are intended to be a guide, as I said before inspiration can get you to make a heartfelt melody in 10 minutes, it depends.
@@XenoghostTV but the melody in this video is terrible, and him making tutorials in something he's terrible at only passes the message that its fine to make half assed songs and beats, because he never addresses creativity
0:06 i thought my headphones were broken lol
Your video has ever be source of improvement for producers like me in the country....Thanks for the great work in common
This is cold bro! I like it 🙏
It's been an hour and I'm still doing the gritty face
Funny how everyone criticizing Mai can't make a beat as good as this. When someone
can't do something as good as you and feel inferior to you, there way of making themselves feel better will always
be by trying to bring your confidence down. I made a 2pac mix with this beat too if you want to hear it Mai just let me know
and i'll shoot you an email .
Loved it, Pretty much going to share this video with all my homies who need to listen. Im seeking simplicity, you helping me find it.
