Reminds me of a once Sweet heart girl by the Name of Alika yepthomi from Surumi village of Suruhuto circle from Zunheboto district in Nagaland, India. Always to be remembered forever. 8/8/2024 # Anthobo
This was a B side, I wouldn't call them derivative. They didn't spend a lot of time on this. I don't think anything Phil Specter came up with comes close to Brian's genius with his original, "In My Room" or " a famous cover, "Sloop John B". As for being just a surf band, I don't think Good Vibrations is a surf band's song. But it's okay, you got the attention you crave. You haven't listened to "Pet Sounds" that's obvious.
That's a shit take in all honesty. You do know they did more than just surf music? They pioneered elements of dream pop, synth pop and even lo-fi (from recording from their makeshift home studio) before they were the thing. In the early 70s they went down into the more Soul and R&B route which is highly underrated. I was more of a fan of the Beatles before I looked into their catalog. They got some of the most brilliant stuff I've heard. Sure the Beatles beat them by staying relevant but it'll come in due time when people will actually realize the widespread influence they've had on music in general and lastly the brilliance of Brian Wilson, the man behind most of the hits.
1967 is probably referring to the UK single. Capitol in UK put out this song as a single in 1967 around the Smile sessions era, against the bands wishes (the bands sound was going in a vastly different direction and this song was already pretty dated), because the label really wanted a single and Brian was taking long with Smile. And to make it even more bittersweet for the band, the single did really well in 1967, as The Beach Boys always done really well if not better in the UK.
Excellent version.Abs fab.
In the top 100 songs ever.
Nádhera! Svět byl hezčí. Lidi normálnější než dnes. ŠKODA. Veliká. Děkujeme!

... and the 'song cover' reveals how derivative they really were- they wanted to be more than just the surf band that they really were. Its Ok guys...
