I just bought one and wouldn't have never bought a Springfield pistol if they had not of made the XDe. Not because of the Drama in Illinois that I don't care about but, because I hate all Striker Fire Pistols. Been waiting for a long time for any manufacturer besides over priced Sig Sauer to bring a thin, light DA/SA Single Stack 9mm to market. The XDe is a fine quality made piece and seems to be a jam proof pistol. Been to range once and fired 50 FMJ and 15 Winchester PDX1 flawlessly and have not seen anyone in video having a jam either. The fiber optic front shows like a beacon and is dead on right out of the box. Surprisingly accurate from a 3.3inch barrel. I've pulled Better DA/SA triggers but, the XDe is good enough.I use the flush fit base plate on the 8round mag and can get a grip with my pinky finger. It has surprisingly soft reoil and don't notice much muzzle flip in spite of the high bore axis. I'm Surprised and disappointed that CZ, Beretta or Bersa didn't beat Springfield to the punch on bringing such a pistol to the market. They are known for DA/SA pistols and would have thought one of them would be first. But until one of them does, the XDe will be my EDC. I trust it for carry right now.
Robert Glover I agree with what you say about CZ. I prefer a metal SA/DA. I have 3 CZs. I carry the Rami daily. But In the summer I would like a single stack, thinner profile for EDC. This seems like the best hammer fired option out there currently. CZ could have done a subcompact or single stack on the P-07 frame??
I almost bought a RAMI but bought a Bersa Ultra Compact Pro 9mm instead. Yeah if CZ would make a Single Stack Rami that would hold at least 7 in the Mag and make it to where you can get all 3 fingers around the grip, that would make a nice CCW. That's why I didn't get the Rami besides my Bersa was a hundred bucks cheaper. There was no pinky extension available with it and I'm one of those guys that it's a deal breaker if I can't get all 3 on it. I really like the RAMI though! Well Made pistol. If CZ makes it in a single stack and makes the slide and frame about 1inch thick, I can see them selling a lot of them. Bersa is going to make a DA/SA Single Stack in 9mm in the next year or so I heard from a reliable source. You may not know much about Bersa's but my UCP9 is an excellent Fire arm. It's never jammed once in about 500 rounds and it's trigger is exquisite in DA, SA and reset. Thanks for the reply and good to hear from another fan of all metal DA/SA pistols!
Don’t buy anything until you take a good look at the Bersa TPR9C. It’s an Alloy frame 13+1 Compact. Outstanding trigger, very well made! Very reliable. Reasonable price
Even though it is discontinued, I just bought a brand-new XD-E with the 3.3" barrel in 9mm from my local gun store. It's November 2023 and mine does not say "grip zone" on it. They must have changed the later models. I wanted to get one for a long time, but just didn't have the funds until now. I like SA/DA hammer fired pistols and couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it when I saw it in the gun store. Thanks for the video.
we bought this for my wife 2 weeks again and we love this. we have a video up about it too. we originally bought an Xds for her but we had a chance to shoot this pistol on father's day and took a loss trading it in two weeks later for the XD-E. It is so much easier for her to use....i have a mod 2 as well and love that too!
I had a similar experience. I tested out the Walther PPQ, SF XDS laser, and the SF XDE 9mm. I loved the XDE, it felt right at home in my hand. I'm a woman by the way and this is perfect for my hands. I just wish it came in the bi-color that the XDS comes in.
I cant wait to get my hands on one of these. I have a nicely upgraded shield 9mm that I need to sell first. Have you found any single clip holsters for this yet? I asked CYA if & when they will have a holster for the xde and they said they are working on it... nicest holster I found for the shield. All the others are crap.
+RSLewis - I have a feeling most xds and shield holsters will fit reasonably well. I had a custom made shield leather holster that pretty much fits the XDE perfectly. It also fit my XDS perfect as well.
How are you liking the xde? I wanted to mention you can sand that pinky ext lip off w a roto tool to make it more flush... thats what I do with all the pearce grips that I buy for mine. Works well and hides under the shirt.
The XDE is a excellent Firearm. They will recover because no one gives a damn! People will buy whatever they want. You control your own opinions and your checkbook. We don't live in a robot cult driven society. If you don't want to buy one don't, Springfield will survive. I purchased one last week it ran great and carries well. I own a number of firearms, various varieties. Good video.
Good video on a great new carry option... I bought the 9mm a couple months ago and liked it so much I bought the 45 last week... I'm even more impressed with the 45 with how soft shooting it is and the fact that it is no larger than the 9 mm. I've always preferred Hammer fired double action pistols and the selection in the market is very slim for single stack guns is specially in 45 caliber
TruthFan I have no issues with the xd platform grip safety, but this gun doesn't need it because of the hammer. You just hold your thumb onto the hammer when reholstering
Well, I'll chime in here. I know it's a 17 month old thread, but for those unfamiliar with Bersa's Thunder Ultra Compact, it functions exactly like the XDe. It is an excellent pistol. Double stack 13 round mags. It is very accurate and reliable. A little heavy with 14 rounds, but I have a High Noon holster that carries it very comfortably. I don't have any personal experience with the XDe, but from watching many videos, I'm fairly sure the Bersa trigger is much better than the XDe. The reset is very short. Love my Bersa, but I'd consider the XDe for a single stack carry pistol. It looks nice and that fiber optic front sight is so easy to pick up.
I really like the XDe, very nice pistol. It is a good addition to my XDs 45. A plus is I can use the same holster for both guns. The XDe shoots real nice, no regrets.
Thanks for the video. I was able to get one of these right after they came out, and I have about 300 rounds through it so far. Mine seems to shoot quite low; have you experienced that?

this looks like a nice pistol but I will have to hold one to see how its feels I just hope the grip isn't too short cause I don't like my fingers hanging off the bottom of the mag
+walter w - if you've held the XDS, the grip on the XDE is ever so slightly longer. To me, it's enough for me to not even bother with a pinky extension. The XDS, on the other hand, has no room for my pinky. I think you will like it.
Wait a minute I kept watching and the gentleman actually believes and said that it did not bother him that the manufacturer is telling people that this is the grip zone and this is where you hold the pistol! That's not the manufacturer telling you to hold the pistol in that spot it is their trademark for their new texture of grip texture oh my God he said he's not going to get mad or embarrassed that the manufacturer wrote that that's the grip zone that's where you put your and no dude you hold it by the barrel and the breach end and pointed at yourself! And then use your left hand and tell him to put to squeeze the trigger while you point it at your self!
Hello all, I bought the XDE a year ago when it came out and was told the laser would be out in 6 months and it was but the Mount for the Vortex would be out but I have no no luck finding one.I'm looking for a Vortex Optics viper on Springfield xde osp. Can anyone help me out please.I have looked all over and I can find the GREEN Dot even for an gun but mine.If anyone has any ideas or has the knowlage on where I can buy this I would be very greatful. There's tons of videos on how they (along with rock river arms) tried to bend over for anti-gun IL politicians, and in return get an exemption in a bill they were trying to pass. Springfield admitted it, and owned up to it. Though it was a delayed response, I think they meant it. They're probably feeling the backlash, too. I understand the hate on Springfield and RRA, but I'm not one to jump right to lighting the torches and grabbing the pitchforks. The way I see it...springfield makes a quality product, and this is something unique in a market that has become so saturated with striker handguns. They're also trying to mend the fences, so I just don't feel like tossing them to the curb yet. Some people can't (and won't) see past the debacle. They'll hate on everything SA, dislike all related content, unsubscribe, and spend what is probably an ungodly amounts of time clicking on any other SA video out there only to dislike it and leave angry comments. Oh well. There's already plenty of people on RUclips that exist solely to dislike and hate on every video no matter what...so it's nothing new, really.

Croatia I think is where some of the parts are made but I believe the gun is assembled here or something like that. The way they represent them selves in this all american way is kinda bogus but a nice gun is a nice gun. Kinda weird how this one doesn't have the grip safety and it's hammer and the striker does. You'd think it would be the other way around. Oh well, dont really need it anyway. Looks like a cool gun and package as a whole. Would have liked to seen a break down/ field strip but over all not a bad video.

Compared to the M2.0 compact that is already poping up on the big channels and it was announced a week ago. I dont doubt the Xde is a good gun. I picked one up and it had perfect ergos, but this gun is a flop. 1) its ugly, but looks are subjective. 2) it has too many redundant safeties. 3)too much crap on the side. This gun is everything that the Xds isn't. The Xds is near perfect, in a world where the Shield doesn't exist.

I can bet that the reason you don't see the main channels doing XDE videos is most likely because the Springfield Armory Illinois issue that happened a while back. Watch any of my videos from around that time. People were on a mission to crucify anyone who had any Springfield Armory content. It was ridiculous. When you have a channel that is successful, with a ton of subscribers, and especially channels with sponsors that supply a ton of stuff to do videos on, it would be very wise to stay away from videos like that. It wasn't a popular topic, in a "good for business" kind of way. To me, it was something new, and different. Worth looking into further. I'm not sponsored. Nor does anyone donate or contribute to my channel. The ads don't cover much of anything, even before RUclips started screwing with monetizing. None of this really influences how I produce content. The trigger on the TPR9C is much better than the Rami. The reset is the shortest of any pistol I’ve ever seen

The XDE is a great gun. It takes a bit of practice to learn the DA trigger but smooth on the SA.
Springfield issues are Springfield issues, just " SHOOT IT " .

XD is some of the best handguns ever been made today, made in the USA glock isn't made in USA .
