I use both Rhino and SolidWorks. The Surfacing tools in SW have gotten better over the years, but I consider them a small subset of what you can accomplish in Rhino.

At minute 6:32 when I try to cap it it says "Unable to cap 36 objects. The openings did not have closed, planar loops of edges"

If I ungroup and explode all, then join all again and cap it works, but I don't think its the right way to do it
