Matt and Scott both sang baritone on this song so they were singing the same harmony the whole time. If you watch it again you can see that Matt is singing the whole time instead of doing the bass parts.
Mitch is such a queen - this song was made for him! I loved the way he and Kirstie were playing off of each other too - clearly, they were having a lot of fun :) Kirstin has been on Broadway - she was in "Kinky Boots" last year. Regarding Scott and Matt harmonizing in Matt's upper register I would highly recommend you react to "Sweater Weather" . When Mitch joins them it's a fabulous new trio we now have with the guys! I LOVED this performance! There wasn't a bass line in this arrangement, which was handed to them to perform "as is". Matt and Scott's parts were very close to each other on the scale. At times I thought they might be singing in unison.. But haven't heard it on headphones so am unsure. I have waited so long to see Mitch on Broadway! It was so cool that Kirstin had recently been on Broadway and now Mitch got to join her! I love that the Trio of besties are seeing dream after dream realized! I love it when it happens for each member individually, but together I far more fantastic! These young people (all of them are younger than 3 of my children who are in their early 30's) are not only gifted. They work HARD to hone their skills and learn what else they can do to expand their skill set! I'm proud of all of them, and can imagine how their parents must feel! One thing that I am so irate about is the constant accompaniment of a drummer on musical themed TV shows that are themed around musical talent. It is a horrible insult to Kevin's well-known ability to cover any and all percussion instrument vocally! This needs to stop! He has a very unique skill that his peers and the public need to hear! They would be as floored as the judges and the voting public on the Sing-off were! Like I suggested before, if you haven't already done this, please react to Sweater Weather! Great reaction I loved seeing it pop up in my feed! More people need to do this and hopefully your reaction will reach others and we'll get even more reactions to this really fabulous performance. Right there with you: often, when they're doing something live, the mic mix isn't the best. And generally I think Mitch gets short shrift on volume, although that wasn't the case here.
