Your horses are well balanced because you don’t stick them in a stall 24/7. They live in a heard, many people don’t understand what horse’s need mentally to be healthy. Your horse’s love one another and they love and respect you! The best gift any animal could ever give a person. I wish more people were like you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So cool. Yes, it's great being accepted as the leader or part of the herd. I can still remember my horses waiting for me in the morning to see what we would be doing. It's more than just providing their comforts food water but understanding what mentally horses need to be well balanced and when they offer up something completely voluntary , oh the joy the wonder and the amazement.
Emma, your story is hugely inspiring to me. I grew up, like you, doing pony club and became a dressage rider. My horses where told what to do and not invited to participate. I saw a lot of abuse often by people I admired and eventually it all lost a lot its magic and I gave up professional riding. Unbeknownst to me I contracted Lyme disease and 10 years ago I became acutely ill. It was probably extremely foolish but 5 years ago I bought a two year old and for the best part of that time I've only been able to watch him out my window or pet him threw the fence as I have been bedridden these past 5 years. Last month I started to finally get better and you better believe the first thing I wanted to do was climb on his back, so I did! I got a golf cart so I can do liberty from there within two days he was following it with no.ropes. He works with me by his own choice. Our bond is only just really getting started and its already so joyful and loving. For the first time I'm actually listening to my horse and not just telling him. These films are so beautiful and your passion for this incredible bond is contagious! 💓
Hi, your story is inspiring also. I grew up doing liberty with my horses in the early 80s in Arizona. came to New jersey and contracted Lyme in 94 and went though years of misdiagnosis and near death. Im so damaged from it and a life of trying to survive this horrible disease and wanting to give up. I just started working again with horses at the recommendation of my therapist and its been really hard but done me a lot of good. I can tell from your comment it has for you also. I just started riding again and it seems to be helping get me to relax some of the extreme muscle tightness cause by the Lyme. The horse I am riding was quite sour in temperment when we started (he is a senior rescue) but he has changed and we are friends thanks to liberty work and listening to him and his cues and wants and needs. Also he was chronically lame but I got him sound with barefoot trimming. He and I are finding some measure of healing together. Wishing a long happy horsey relationship and healing to you as well.
thank you! was feeling so sad this morning but saw your comment first thing, It really ment a lot and cheered me up. Sending lots of love and good healing vibes back your way

You and your horses are a wonderful gift for each other. I can see the love you have for them and they for you and each other. What a wonderful blessing. Thank you for sharing. I had horses most of my life and shared a free spirit relationship with them. They lived in a natural free roaming environment and welcomed me into their herd. Whether on 640 acres, 20 acres, 10 acres, or 5 acres, when I called them they would come to me. That always made me feel so loved. I rode bareback and with just a halter most of my life. I never did like a saddle or bridle ...I could not feel the horse under me as well with all that hardware. I think they appreciated that as much as I did ...no tight girth and no hard steel in the mouth ...just kept it natural. It warms my heart watching you with your horses. Our Heavenly Father gave you a special gift and the horses know it. May this gift and blessing continue forever for you and the horses.
I'm sooooooooooo inspired! New things to aspire towards! I love Emma's friendship with her horses. She has a high play drive that works well with the equine nature. I sense her horses have interesting, active, and pleasurable lives.

Really enjoyed your videos part 1 & 2. Fascinating to watch. Appreciate your seeking new challenges. Takes a special person to do what you do. Cudos, Emma!
I worked with animals for nearly a decade mostly dogs and cats - I did some work handling horses during some of California’s fires unfortunately I also suffered a terrible injury and took 3 years of my life to get back to 1/2 of my quality of life - your an inspiration WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL COMPASSIONATE WORK - as I say a Labor of love 👍
Oh my God, Erica. First of all, I’m so sorry that you sustained the injuries and I pray for your continued improvement. You are an extraordinarily courageous woman to participate in the rescue of the horses you were able to save. Thank you, thank you, thank you.! We have seen heartbreaking videos and videos of astounding courageous acts of strangers and through you, I can finally express my condolences for the terrible losses and send my gratitude to you and others who assisted in the firefighting, and rescuing and sheltering of people and animals. May our loving Heavenly Father ease your pain and recovery.Sincerely, Liz in Al. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This video is just beautiful from start to finish! i am an s older great grandma now... having just one horse was my dream as a girl and to see how the whole group are one with each other is just a dream in real life!! It just gives me joy in my heart ♥️ thanks for sharing your loves... BEST..CHERYL🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Cheryl, so an I, we must be kindred spirits! 83 y/o here. Loved to ride many years ago!. One favorite memory of a day too rainy to ride we just made our lunches and climbed into the hayloft, enjoyed the fragrance of rain on the fields and dirt below, and the sweet breath of horses, dogs and barn cats. That was truly a blessing!
Wow. How wonderful is this. Its so wonderful it made me want to cry. You have done so much with these horses and the love and respect you have for them is incredible. Thank you for sharing what you do. :-)
This is the most beautiful woman. Her soul is deeply entertwined with nature. She understands horses, and she respects them. And thus, they respect her. It is something more people need to have. She brings a little bit of nature magic into this world and I always dreamed of being her but never got the chance. Props to her for taking a lovely gift like horses and doing something big with them ♥
I love how you respect the horses as individuals and clearly don't try to hammer them into something one may not be. And enjoying them for who they are and what you can do to help them understand what you intend rather than running them around in a circle expecting them to learn something without any understandable ,( to them), information.
I love your take on being with horses so much. It's obviously really good for you, and for your horses- they ADORE being with you! Also, can I say how much I loved the music for the journey to Ireland. I play traditional music and recognized the "zip" of a hurdy gurdy's trompette right away!
Absolutely fantastic work!! God has truly given you a wonderful gift in being able to achieve this kind of relationship and trust with a horse.....and without reins, bits, etc. Magnificent! Thank you so much for sharing this world of yours that is probably a fantasy for everyone who ever loved the equine.
Actually, you just need to understand horses, how they work and such, and if you just train yourself, learn now stuff, bond with different horses, than you can probably do what she is doing :)
Senpaija anyone who understands horses has the ability to do it... most people just wont put in the work and refuse to trust their horse with thier life
What an honor you have achieved with your horses. You, Emma, are living the dream with horses. I am oh so jealous and am going to get out and PLAY with my horses MORE.
You are a beautiful person! I understand how you feel. I watched part 1 and it was amazing as well. I've been a loner growing up as well. I used to ride too, but not having money I would go on trail rides. Well, at the place I would ride, they had a 2 week "camp" (for a lack of a better word lol) and I had a horse name Smokey. He was 15 hands, smart, and a gorgeous Morgan Horse. He didn't belong on the trails. Anyway, long story short we became good friends. I didn't need the use of the reins, and we would go out on the trails alone and we would "dance", jump, and just be friends, he was my only and best friend! How I loved this horse that was not mine. I would go riding 2 to 3 times a week just to be with him. Then one day I went to see my friend and he was gone. He was sold. I was sad, but I realized quickly, he was much better off. He didn't belong as a trail horse. He was too smart for that. Besides not everyone knew how to ride, or were mean. So I decided to be happy for my friend. But, even 40 years later, I still think of him, I miss him. Thank you for your videos!
Hi Emma, I just wanted to say that I'm truly inspired by your horsemanship. I recently got 'back into horses' after 10 years of not riding. I don't have any family or friends who are horsey, so growing up, I was limited to lessons at my local riding school. Now that I'm an adult and can potentially buy my own horse one day, I started having lessons again, but felt a bit lost because I have no desire to do any kind of competing. I read what people were saying on horse forums, such as 'what's the point of having a horse if you don't compete?'. But all I've ever wanted, since I was a little girl, was to have a true bond with a horse. There was a pony at my riding school who came from an abused background, I was one of the few people who could touch her face to put sweet itch cream on because she really trusted me and I had a gentle way with her. Since finding your channel, I don't feel like such an outsider in the equestrian world. Maybe I can have the kind of life I want with a horse, through natural horsemanship and liberty training. Thank you so much for sharing your lifestyle on RUclips, your kindness towards the horses shines through and it's clear that they adore you.
I'm recovering from a bad fall where I broke my right wrist and have had three pins put in. I wondered if I could ride again but watching your video I am determined to get back on, thankyou.
Taylor, I hope your wrist has healed properly and you are getting physical therapy and exercises for it! Same thing happened to me and this made all the difference. Good luck!
at age 56 I got a Careflite off my farm here in Blue Ridge, Texas broken to pieces. My Arab mare bolted and lost her footing at full gallop. Her right front foot slipped in our gravel driveway. She cut 90 degrees to the left so she wouldn't fall sending me off the right hitting the ground with the force of a ton! I hit the ground so hard my helmet came off. I had collapsed lung, head injury, blew out my right shoulder, total a/c separation, broken ribs both sides and I broke my friggin back n two places, T8 and T9. Five and half months in bed surrounded by pillows. I couldn't lay down. I couldn't do anything for almost 2.5 years. I just got up at 5.5 months and started taking my life back. Took me about 20 mins to walk 30 feet to my barn to see my mares. Determination and driven to get back outside on my farm is what helped me rehab and heal on my farm by myself. I'm 61 now. Be five years Oct 18, 2019 next month!
I 🙏for your full recovery, what a slam, bang ton! bugger of an accident of a horse. Through all what you have achieved and now you're still standing, on two legs!❗💗😄🐥 at 65 too! Wow ❗❗ "Mumma Mia" determined you are, incredibly never give up never let go and keep your goal on your horses that are your inspiration to keep going and doing so. Take care of yourself with quality therapeutic excersice and lots of warm baths, maybe you cannot do some of the thing's you used to do but you can do other thing's and much more. Settle from taking the risky thing's, there can be way's to do thing's easier, safer and still achieve the same result. Keep thing's easier, it doesn't have to be done harder. God bless you 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺 and your colourful journey ahead. 🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺
@@dcbeez5956 Yeah, it was a life changer for sure! I'm not 65 yet. I'll be 62 in Jan. And then 2 years into my recovery my husband was diagnosed with ALS. I just got home from visiting with him in the skilled nursing facility he now lives in an hour away from me. Life is full of challenges that is for sure! Prayer works and we just do it one day at a time. That is all anyone can do, really. Onward!
OMG, thank you Emma, thank you for sharing, and inspiring a deeper, more magical existence with horses, and honestly baring injuries and downsides too. You are inspiring me to play more at liberty as I recover from my own freak horse riding injury - also from a situation where I pushed logical boundaries in horse-crazed induced moment of madness ! Embracing joyful bounding with my horse from the ground until sound enough to ride again. Congrats on boldly living your authentic life, look forward to your ongoing adventures !
Corinne, don’t you know horses are addictive?!? They make peeps like us lose our minds sometimes! I think when they get back in the stable, they may look a teacher and shake their big ol heads as they speak to each other and say, ‘“tsk, tsk, I’D NEVER DO THAT!” Liz in Al ❤️🇺🇸
Emma! You speak a heavenly language to and about your horses. Jesus was born in a stable, rode a donkey through the streets of Via Dela Rosa, and is coming back to this earth on a magnificent white horse. The equine is the most amazing creature on this earth. Just saying, from my perspective and the rest of my herd of 39 , thank you for sharing your amazing adventure with the rest of us ! You are amazing!
That was really fun to watch. Thank you for sharing all that. I'm sorry you got hurt, but glad you're ok now. Enjoyed seeing how they reacted to you. : )
Some animals like dogs and horses love to be with humans and do things with and for us, they love to please us as long as we love and understand them. I was at a camp when I was 9 and learned to ride horses. At another camp many years later there was someone who had never been around horses and I had to teach him to talk to the horse while riding. I was so used to talking to Princie my dog as if he were human, I just transferred that kind of talk to the horse and told him he was doing a good job, he was a good horse that kind of talk. The horse will respond to you positively. They love you if you treat them the way you want to be treated. Then when the training or job is done you give them treats, a good rub down, some water etc. Other good videos to watch are Dennis Reis is a Western rider. He teaches people how to deal with problem horses.
When I see the dressage trainer at my barn yanking on the bit turning the horse in a tiny circle in anger because the horse did or didn't do something, it breaks my heart. It just doesn't have to be that way if the 'trainer' only knew better. I wish all horses could have a human like this in their l lives.
Tell the ‘trainer’ you have noted his/her abuse and will report it if continues. I haven’t been timid here. The animals can’t speak for themselves. I once saw a man whipping a dog with his leather belt outside our post office and physically grabbed his arm to get his attention, not thinking about the possibility of him hurting me. Thankfully he didn’t. The dog was able to run away, and the man told me he ran away from home! Is that a wonder? I guaranteed him I would be passing his residence often and notify the authorities on behalf of the dog. I cannot abide cruelty.
Gypsy Vanners are very sound, gentle and just an all around great breed. It's my hope and dream to one day have Gypsy's so my children can grow up with horses.
Possibly some of those "horse" people who think things need to be a certain way.....like with bits and bridles and spurs. They need to let go of some control.
Not all bits and spurs are bad. I used humane bumper spurs for my girl because after initially starting her out without a saddle and then using a saddle, she didnt feel my leg cues... simply because the leather was in between us and my legs had a hard time reaching her body. So I decided to use slightly turned inward bumper spurs (they dont look anything like normal spurs or western spurs). Their back is round... looks a bit like a pretzel. Anyways using them it allowed me to use my legs to give cues without having to twist my legs and throwing her off balance. And bit wise we use the softest bit available. A myler comfort snaffle d level 2 bit. It allows tongue freedom because it has a raised center piece that cannot collapse into itself and each side can be used individually. So there is no nutcracker effect. Of course there are some bits that are harsh but I'd never use them myself. And just because people use bits and spurs it doesnt mean that they would have to hate on liberty training (which btw I do as well). Not riding because my girl is still young and learning but from the ground heck yes.
You should thank God every day that you are able to live your life with a herd of the most magnificent animals in the world. That has been only a dream of mine since I was a little girl but was never able to afford to have just one in my life. I'll never give up on that dream, but at age 54...starting to think I'll never see it become reality.
Michelle, I understand what you’re saying and know I’ll never fulfill my dream in that way either. When I was young, I never gave a thought to becoming old one day… does anyone? But in life I bet you have accomplished so many dreams others of pale in comparison. I’m 83, had one hip replacement but / and would ride like Lady Godiva if I could get up on a horse again! But I’ll have to be satisfied just to watch these beautiful younger ladies and their horses enjoying their precious lives! God bless you, dear… Liz in Al.❤️
Emma ...beautiful Emma, wonderful to watch the close relationships you have with your horses and I am sure ...with all animals. Amazing filming by the way ..gorgeous takes. Do I hear turkeys in the background? Lovely to watch

Props to her for taking a lovely gift like horses and doing something big with them ♥
I have enjoyed too much seeing you. I have the luck to live with 2 horses. I am 52 and you have opened a wide options of having fun. Thanks
I love how you respect the horses as individuals and clearly don't try to hammer them into something one may not be. And enjoying them for who they are and what you can do to help them understand what you intend rather than running them around in a circle expecting them to learn something without any understandable ,( to them), information.
Just brilliant. Go Emma! X
Such a beautiful, inspiring story! Wish I had a pony!
I love your take on being with horses so much. It's obviously really good for you, and for your horses- they ADORE being with you! Also, can I say how much I loved the music for the journey to Ireland. I play traditional music and recognized the "zip" of a hurdy gurdy's trompette right away!
Fun music, isn’t it?
@@e.conboy4286 It really is!
Thankyou for reminding me, yes horses are good!
Absolutely incredible. I never realised how intelligent and trusting ponies and horses are. Love your story.
I’m glad you broke just two of those and bounced back. You guys are such an adorable herd.
Fabulous video, great example of how you get out of life what you put into it.
Absolutely mind blowing!!!!!
TRULY AMAZING AND INSPIRING,,,Best of luck to you and your horses, as your living your Journey,,🐎🐎💜
Thank you for sharing your story. Well done!
What a fantastic girl you are, your love for your horses shines through, I’m from Ireland , you are amazing to watch xx🍀
Thank you so much!
Wonderful. Thank you.
Onward!
awwww Emma - your my absolute favorite horsewoman - hats off !!
Beautiful, inspiring, pure and utterly exhilarating.
I love what you're doing, Emma. Brilliant!!!
I am recovering from a fall where I broke my ankle. it happened about a week ago! I love watching your vids
WOW, you've got guts girl! Good on you. Thank you so much for sharing.
You and your horses are BEAUTIFULLY
That was really fun to watch. Thank you for sharing all that. I'm sorry you got hurt, but glad you're ok now. Enjoyed seeing how they reacted to you. : )
This is amazing, you're really inspiring :)
Love your stories...and you while herd at once-ness...bravo'. Yes, stay unbroken and safe! 😍
Great, video so,beautiful very breathtaking, horses, all so priceless to watch I love them all😍😎😋🙄🤩🤩🤩🤣🤣😁😁🙄
So funny! Horses standing next to her are falling asleep! They totally love and trust her!
Your beyond talented! So inspiring!!!!!!
Just wonderful!
This was amazing!
Well that was awesome. You are amazing Emma
For me that's how horses should be treated
Awesome bond.thank you Emma
Courtesy the new algorithm !! Lovely !!
Fantastic. Having fun is the name of the game.
Just absolutely amazingly ❤️ beautiful 💕 Emma, you are one of a kind and so talented.
Is it true Emma Male horses do better for women
I love all your animals I wish I could be there helping you
When I see the dressage trainer at my barn yanking on the bit turning the horse in a tiny circle in anger because the horse did or didn't do something, it breaks my heart.
Lovely story
Gypsy Vanners are very sound, gentle and just an all around great breed. It's my hope and dream to one day have Gypsy's so my children can grow up with horses.
How do her videos get ANY dislikes? A mystery to me. :)
There's a lot of jealous people out there 😔
My 1st thought 💭 too!? Jellie! 🐈🐕🐏🐖🐎🐑🦃
Because she doesnt keep safety in mind. Dont get me wrong she's amazing but she's also doing very unsafe things without taking hardly any precautions
she is amazing what a girl what courage and grit inspirational to us crap riders or happy hackers ,best wishes Emma
Inspirational. Thank you.
So fascinating and beautiful!
Absolutely amazing you are my inspiration and I mean it!!!
