Fallout 4 - Building at Nordhagen Beach 08 (Warehouse, Boathouse and Docks)

- This series covers the construction of my settlement at Nordhagen Beach. Apart from Place Everywhere no settlement object mods were used, and only uses vanilla and DLC objects with some additional assets being spawned using Console Commands.
In the eighth part of the series I create a warehouse to store the settlements goods, along with a series of docks and a small boathouse. The chainlink fences and boats used in this part were spawned using the placethere console command followed by the objects Form ID which are listed below:
Chainlink Fence

00001E1C
00001E16
0002C17D
Row Boat

Sailing Boat (DLC)

Bethesda should hire you. Sometimes I even wonder if you're Todd Howard in disguise.
lol, remember the first rule of Chess Club… 😉🤣
Well, I mean… this build, it just works.
@@Barhom242Smart ass 💀
True though!
I amazes me that we are at episode 8 already... It only seems like a couple of days ago that you started this wonderful build. I have to say that the idea of layering scrappy floors from the wood tab or scaffolding tab with the mesh floors from the barn/warehouse tabs creates a wonderfully simple variation of scrappy floors. Such a simple idea, that I have never even considered until I watched you employ it here several times. Just goes to show that my earlier statement holds true. I ALWAYS learn something new with each and every new episode that you put out. Love your work! 😍
Thanks! Only two more parts to go, although I doubt I’ll have the settlement fully decorated for a while (although making good progress!). The combination of the warehouse and scaffolding floors was one of those trial and error moments that happily just worked out.
Had originally just used the scaffolding floors but as they are slightly thinner than the normal floors they did not look right on their own when seen from the side. Love how they look when combined and is something I’ll be using for future builds now 😁.
This is the part of the build I was waiting for! Those docks look amazing. You never fail to make settlements feel like a real place where people could actually live.
Thank you for the very kind words, really pleased to hear you enjoyed it 🙏😁
I have a small dock at my Spectacle Island settlement. You have inspired me to add a warehouse. I will probably have to demolish a house or two to make room for it but it's a big island and I'm sure the displaced settlers will find other accommodation! 😄
I find warehouses are perfect for coastal settings and as they are quite large also make for convenient space fillers for areas I don’t know what to do with! Hopefully your relocated settlers wont mind moving that much, if anything at least your new warehouse could provide a potential place for them to work at 😉😊.
@@FiddleflapsVids The way they just stand about most of the time, I don't think they are all that interested in working! Also my playthrough has been corrupted by one of the mods I have installed and I no longer have any workstations in my menu, which is a bit limiting to say the least. ☹
I'm glad I have a mod which has 'snappable' chain-link fences, because I hate trying to line them up manually.
Yeah they are tricky to get lined up correctly. For the sake of the video I did a quick a dirty job of getting them placed, but spent plenty of time off camera trying to get them aligned properly 😔
The time I've been waiting for. Finally! Those docks really contribute greatly to the cozy beach design you're going for. They look pretty great in front of the view tbh 👀
Thanks! The next two (and final parts) focus on more docks wrapping around the coastline, along with a large structure which I think offers some of the best views of the settlement 😁
I've been following along with this build, great layout you've built up here! Love the flow of it all. The structuring itself, inspiring as always. Great build, watching it evolve is pretty sweet.
Great to hear you have been enjoying seeing how the build has been progressing! Many thanks! 🙏😁
Great work mate !! Love it
Thanks! 👍😊
The settlement is so awesome!!!
Thanks! 🙏😁
Glorious 😊
Thanks! 😊🙏
I just learnt a new use for the Post material. Use the Post Material as a feature for connecting wood pieces together. i.e. the Docks (I think).
Thought the posts would make for good pier supports, along with adding a little bit of detail and breaking up what would have just been a bunch of shack foundations. Great to hear you found the vid useful, thanks! 😊👍
@@FiddleflapsVids It made it the buildings more natural looking. Like how two pieces connect together.
You very Creative
Thanks! 🙏😁
😮😮😮❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! 👍😁
But how do you materialise those boats and fences at will out of thin air?
Those objects were spawned using console commands and are listed in the video description. I saved these commands into batch files and run them via a hotkey mod, so I don’t have to open and type into the console during the vid 👍.
You're going to have to get with your settlers and maybe have a talk, it appears they think what you're doing is crap, looking at their happiness it's dropping. 🙃
lol, guess I need to up my game 😳. It’s all down to the one of the existing settlers that I assigned as a guard. Whilst decorating I assigned him back to farming crops and the happiness rating stared to climb again. I guess he just really likes working the earth and endlessly repeating “the farms not much” every time I pass him 🤣.
What's the ID of the masted fishing boat you placed?
Or is that a boat from Fallout 76?
The form ID's of all the objects used in this part are listed in the description.
@@FiddleflapsVids Duh. Didn't even think of checking there. Sorry about that! :)
always loved your build vids. I can't wait to see what you can do with spectacle island
Great to hear you have been enjoying them, thanks! Not sure if I'll feel brave enough to ever tackle Spectacle Island, the thought of trying to fill all that space gives me nightmares 😱😉.
Great to see you included actual boats 🛶 love it
Glad you liked it! Many thanks! 🙏😁
