$20 is very expensive . Big Prawn Noodle at Compassvale blk 205 offers very prawny n flavourful prawn noodle. I usually order the $6 or $7.50 for extra prawns.
for Lao Zhong Zhong you've got to head back and try the porridge stall behind, go for their pork porridge and their macaroni soup which comes with quail eggs! 🤤
Hello! Great content as always! How about doing one for the delivery folks? Charity has been a tad lost lately... I just ordered a box of 🍩 via deliveroo cos my backyard neighbours are celebrating Halloween. But. I decided to give to the delivery uncle instead. He smiled!!
This episode featured my go to place for NGO Hiang when I am in Singapore, across the street you find River South Hoe Nam prawn noodle ,it’s good n much cheaper than the $20 prawn noodle that you guys had at Zion. Ser Seng Turtle Soup is across the street too, anotherngo to place of mine to go for turtle soup. I had the Zion char kueh teow too but I find it too oily n sweet
Fully agree! The River South Hoe Nam Prawn Noodle across the street at “The Venue” Tai Thong Crescent is so so much better in taste and money at under $10 per bowl relative to the Zion Road one.
I am unsure if anyone else notices, but the Char kway teow stall is SOOO clean.

The “correct” way to eat prawn noodles soup is to ask for bee hoon mee, more mee lesser bee hoon. This will give the soup a perfect balance because the bee hoon serves to nullify the alkaline taste of the noodles. However, if there’s too much bee hoon, the soup will taste bland.
You will enjoy the soup more if you opt for this option, more so than just the plain soup that comes with dry prawn noodles.
P.S. apart from prawn noodles soup being my favourite food, I used to work part-time at a prawn noodles stall years ago during school holidays and learnt much about the theories/secrets behind a proper bowl of prawn noodles.

Zion Rd CKT and prawn mee is my go to for cravings. Fish soup and kuay chap also not bad de.

That prawn noodle uncle’s twin brother is at Adam road food centre （which Food King had done an episode on before) and i find his broth much better - more robust. Pork ribs are better at Adam road too.

Lol I actually thought the Pork Rib from Zion Road Prawn noodle is better than any of the bkt. Just that not that consistent can be too peppery on occasion. I am surprise that they didn't mention about the pork lard.
About the pricing, normally a $13 bowl prawn is big enough but it does go up to $28. Definitely the best prawn soup out there with its umami. Considering the cost and ingrident of ramen, even at $28 is worth it. Not sure if the time of the day matter? I only had it in the night.

Usually ocean prawns have a richer taste than river prawns which differs in their taste!
Tiger prawns taste are tougher and a kind of river taste in it!
I don't mind paying a higher price for ocean or sea prawns

Ehhh, why does it sound like you guys are all shouting but no one around you guys reacting. Could it be the camera setup?
I think they used shotgun mic for the audio setup and boost the audio levels in post production, that might be the reason why you can hear that “static” background noise throughout the video.
Zion rd Fried kway teow loses to pair panjang hawker centre fried kway teow. Also 3 stars with food king.
But beware the owner at pair panjang not very friendly and bochap you kind.
Still a very good plate.

I for one would not like eat prawns that have not been deveined. Most of this prawn noodle shops or tzechar food places don't even bother cleaning the prawns.

This aunty is infamous for upselling her noodles. And she gives better treatment to patrons who are willing to splurge on more expensive orders. I won't go out of my way to eat her noodles.
