I feel like pretty much all reviewers are missing the point of the half stud wide white lights and one stud wide indicators for the front. LEGO clearly put a lot of effort into making those lights the correct size. I haven't seen a mod that adds the transparent cover that's more elegant than the very basic solution that the 6-stud wide Speed Champions F40 had. I'll take the original LEGO solution over any mod that tries to replicate the light cover.
That’s a very good point! Those 1x1 trans clear and trans orange tiles do add to the look! However, having that empty space where the covers should be is a bit too distracting to get past visually.
I dont really get your point, Lego is to build new things etc, not just to build strictly with instructions, also Lego designers are not the best in what they do and mods can make the car look better
@@kubami5543I swear some people are just suck ups to Lego who refuse to accept that sets can be changed and sometimes improved. Just because designers came up with one idea, does not mean you have to build it that way and never change anything.
Hey! This just came up in my feed. Thanks for checking out the build. I designed all this without the set... So yeah, once I realised how unstable the rear was, I fixed it. Check the update on Rebrickable. I've got further mods coming 🙏 Again, thanks so much! It's quite an experience to see one of my designs being reviewed. You've done a brilliant job and very fair. Thanks!
First of all, these mods are so cool and that’s why I wanted to try them for myself! Second, kudos for doing them before you had the set in hand! Third, I’m excited to try out your modified design and show it off as well! I think people really liked the original, but making the design more secure is a big improvement and deserves recognition.
I will 100% do the engine cover and detailing mod but in my opinion the stock headlights and spoiler look the best. The pop ups are cool but I don't see myself displaying the car with the pop ups up because it just looks cooler with them down.
These mods are fantastic, thanks for showcasing them and thanks to @maddadbricks for designing them. This set just made me want the Creator Expert version even more and now you've given me an excuse to get another copy of this F40 to experience the removable rear functionality without having to spend $300 for the original.
But too rectangle... I made another option, a thinner upper panel (1x6 tile) and tapered sides (the front edge should be inclined), plus the same slightly curved sides but all-flat upper surface, without these "steeps".
I really wanted to use this mod, but this video changed my mind. I really don't want to sacrifice the playability and I think I will stick to the original without stickers.
Great video, like how the spoiler looks then original and the mods of the pop-up headlights and opening engine bay is cool. Probably going to take only the pop up headlights and spoiler to make it look better
You all need to get your sports car terminology corrected. It's a rear wing in the back and not a spoiler! A spoiler is a completely different component of a car that has to do with aerodynamics. Spoilers affect the window speed going against the car at different speeds. A rear wing functions completely different or not at all! Like on the Lamborghini Countach, the rear wing does nothing at all and is there for the awesome look. On some cars the rear wing has a function as it creates a down forces on the rear end of the car.
Great mod, love the spoiler mod, not too keen on the pop up head lights as the cheese slopes are a bit big, won’t be doing the opening rear end as as you said it takes away the playability, but looks so cool. Definitely using the white transparent light and spoiler mods.👌🔥
Not keen on the light fix as it pushes the side of the car out. I also cant help feeling there must be a more clever solution other than cheese slopes.
Your mod wing is a lot better. I'll take it even a step further. The real F40 has a thinner wing across the top, so you only need to use one red 1x8 smooth piece. To get the triangled shaped supports on both sides to hold the wing up, I would just use some classic red sloped pieces with the one stud on top. Maybe even add two 1x2 red pieces under the sloped pieces to raise it up.
Bro I want to build that one but without the back of the car just make a drift car out of it lol I got an F40 too but I want to keep mine stock as you did with your first F40
I do not like the lack of the front headlights either. So I upgraded my F40 to F40 LM: new front headlight, new hood, new rear spoiler and new diffuser. What do you think? 🏁 ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBuCwZ3NFmFIgD8J1xGblYLm_QCO6Ubkb
This set shows the double standards of the community, if moc builders ise hollow headlights there will be praised but if Lego use hollow headlights there will be criticise for it.
Thanks for this video. To be honest, even with the mods this model just seems irredeemable. Maybe sometime in the future they'll get this model right in 8 studs width, but not this time.
Nah, the OG spoiler looks better for the silhouette. Cool mod tho.

Wing looks the best?! Common, it doesn't even look close to the real thing!
I definitely prefer the lego wing, that slight curvature to it I feel is more important of a detail than covering up two frankly unnoticeable studs
@@dmonsef His wing looks way too blocky, the original is the best it can be at this scale.

It looks cool, but yes, very fragile!
I hope the make more of the same 6 stud models like the Bugatti and make them 8 studs
Nice video. Great pacing. You moved right along but didn’t rush. I feel a lesser creator would have drawn it out and added a lot more commentary.

Totally get that!
Just take the 2x2 slope and flip it around and put a 1x2 trans clear on it, looks great.

I enjoy all of the mods, Especially the pop-up headlight…. is the F 40 the last great car that uses pop-up headlights?
I definitely want to add in the clear light cover mod, but wont put in the pop up headlights. I
Same here
Can you please make a video on how to move the Mercedes AMG project 1 or the f1 car that comes with it I'd appreciate it
Is there a video to build the engine
Thanks the video!

how can I get the instructs and are the prices I need do they come in the set could you build it like from the start is it easy to build
do all of these pieces to create the moc come from the actual set or do I have to order them?
There are pieces that need to be ordered or reused from other sets. There’s a parts list provided in the ReBrickable instructions.

too boxy
Not for me, its flimsy, and the pop up headlights are awful.
