Story 2: the important lesson on that story is that OP kept a positive attitude at work. Makes a huge difference as you're trying to survive and looking at new opportunities. And in the end she didn't want him to leave because he had been working hard and making "progress." That's how you want to go out!

Story 3- Anything Over 18 Burgers at McDonalds Now a days, You are Required to Call in 24 to 48 hours in advance if done on ONE order. This is just so Managers Can can Rush Shipment of Extra stock in. You also Might have to Pay a Deposit, Certain Locations Do require a Deposit. Which just covers the cost of the extra stock if you do a No show.

We had a married couple driving together as team truck drivers, and they had mistakenly not looked at their paperwork and hauled a loaded trailer 8 hours Northwest, instead of 8 hours, South by Southwest. I hauled my first load of the week into the location they had just realized they goofed at, and they wanted ME to haul their load all the way to the spot it was SUPPOSED to be at, even calling our dispatcher and trying to get them to ASSIGN it to me. I told dispatch , "They did not read their paperwork's location, so they can clean up their own mistake." They still got paid for the mileage, but lost them a little on the NO drop fees at this location. They were always messing up on some of the little things, every month or two.

Last one: It's funny how, even as he called himself the idiot for the screwup, he still managed to blame OP. "Next time I'd appreciate if you told me." Dude, OP TRIED to tell you. Next time try listening.

I've had to order a mass quantity of burgers/whatever else is wanted a couple of times.......I *always* call ahead, ask how long they THINK such an order would take to make and make sure to give them that time, plus a few minutes extra vs waltzing in the door early and pacing around impatiently like a jerk.......I ALSO make sure to thank the employees for their efforts................. Heaven knows they likely don't get enough of that! I know my sisters had "fun" during their time in the fast food business.

Not sure why fast food folk would even put up with mr. 32, IF he had ordered the cheesesteak he should have had a receipt. OP should have asked 32 to prove he ordered the extra. No receipt no refund. Customer is NOT always right and is quite often several fries short of a happy meal.

Eh, with story 5, the OP could have you know, just not bought the item in the first place. The fact that stores take 'returns' at all (for anything other than legitimate shoddy or faulty goods) is more than consumers honestly deserve. Perhaps if folks had a little more impulse control while shopping or researched an item etc prior to purchase they wouldn't face 'poor customer service' while trying to return crap it turns out they didn't really want or need. If I was the customer service individual in that story I would have just sat there watching the guy rather than process a return (as long as the no return thing *was* actual policy).

Putting gas in a diesel engine will result in it seizing up, and you will need a new engine cause it will be cheaper than repairing it

@Jens Nobel If only you had spit out the Bensin into a bush. Then we'd all have a new Bensin In Hedges story!
(If you are not aware "Benson & Hedges" is (or at least used to be) a very famous fireworks display company. As in they were reknowned for intricate, beautiful fireworks displays.)

@Jens Nobel Just went and looked it up. It's the same Benson & Hedges. Turns out, what I thought was a fireworks company was actually just a yearly event called "Symphony of Fire" that was hosted by Benson & Hedges, a tobacco company.
I never once knew or even suspected that Benson & Hedges was a tobacco company. My only interaction with them was the Symphony of Fire.

I used to work at McDonald's in the early 90s. But I worked on the highway and we would occasionally get two or three buses at a time. My manager would instruct me to make a dozen cheeseburger that time and keep making them until he told me to stop it was a madhouse in there. That was my first official job I was making a hole $4.50 an hour

I know it doesn't really matter since we understood what you ment, but in Star Trek they have matter replicators, which the science behind them still befuddle me

The science is basically the same as the transporters, so he was actually correct. Mostly, at least 😋.

Story 4: The only time I heard about people buying 32+ of anything, is usually when someone is pulling a prank, and even then it's done with delivery. Some examples include:
"I want 20 burgers with bacon and extra mayo delivered to this house."
"I want to 50 pineapple and anchovy pizzas delivered to this place."
    Or my favorite one.
Doni Bobes: "I'm sending 50 hot chicken wings to my good friend Lynix!"

This used to happen a lot in the late 1990s when McDonalds sold 29c hamburgers on Wednesday, 39c cheeseburgers on Sundays, and I think some other day had Big N Tasty or something like that. They eventually had to limit to 20 per customer. You would then see multiple people line up to buy then they would just sit together at the same table.

Just a heads up to anyone who accidentally puts gas in a diesel engine, get some extra oil and put it in the fuel tank. Diesel is essentially gas with oil mixed in. As long as you finish topping it up with actual diesel and keep putting more diesel in whenever you can, your vehicle *should* be fine. No guarantees obviously, but at least it’ll help minimize the damage.
    Sincerely,
A dumbass who has put gas in a diesel several times…
