I was there for that race. A great race. This was the golden age of sports car racing. Slagle got totally screwed. I and my friends were good position to see that. It was heart stopping.
As a long time Z-car racer I say bravo to the Jaguar team. They found in area of the GCR which they could exploit and did so. It wasn't their fault the SCCA overlooked this and never thought anyone would develop the car to its potential. And to the Datsun guys, what a bunch of whiners. Thanks for posting this.
Holy wow .. Ive seen Logan Blackburn racing in other scca events & he really preferred 'throwing a car into a corner ' and using that momentum for the exit , but he could have had more control to avoid bashing into Slagle that way , at least Slagle was able to ' run outta that ' . I was impressed by that TR8 roadster , had nothing for the Jag though , Baker owned that race .
Do you have anymore of this or know where i can get the full coverage from the weekend? I would really like to see AP and BP. But thanks for posting this its really rare for me to see it. Thanks again.
