My wife and I used to LARP Vampire the Masquerade, and for the first 5 or 6 months after my daughter was born, we used to bring her to the games, and my daughter's nickname became "Juice Box." She is 20 now, and there are still friends of ours who call her "Juice Box."

Also, the word is "except," not "accept." One is an exception. The other is accepting something, as in receiving or coming to terms with.

It's actually really awesome that you guys put up your session 0. Definitely useful for others to follow along with and make their own characters.
After this, I think everybody needs to record their session 0s. Character creation is one of the best parts of tabletop.
Jared seems like a really fun Gm, lots of energy, so many interesting npc's and ideas! Looking forward to the next episode.

I'm back to watch this again after watching it back when it came out. Still one of my favorite V5 streams on RUclips. Absolutely LIVID this kooky coterie didn't get a long meandering chronicle.
I love watching Sydney play. She's such a smart and creative player. I really enjoy the characters that she creates as well as how she plays them.
I don't know why I love character creation so much. But it's one of my favorite parts of any game

It is weird not to see Grant here when he was the biggest advocate of this game.
There was probably a conversion in which Troy told Grant he wasn't allowed to scare Jared away with his RIDICULOUS high rolls. If Grant can make Troy shake in his boots with all of his gunslinger tomfoolery, a nice man like Jared could have hours of prep just obliterated after 2 "Grant Rolls". If they do another, I'm sure Grant will dive in and play an outrageously broken Gangrel. 😂

Werewolves are OP. One ww can kill a dozen vampires. Then there are mages.... super weak starting, super OP if they survive long enough.
@@davidbeppler3032 Lower generation vampires can handle most elder werewolves & powerful mages. I will still agree that mages are the most powerful of the 3.

What i learned from character creation is that no vampire game of mine is going to be set after 2002 since i think facebook is 2004 onward

Favorite vampire movie is a toss up between "Near Dark" and "30 Days of Night". The vampires in the first movie remind me of either a van full of Brujah or Gangrel and the second film reminds me of a pack of Sabbat vamps having a party.

I was so excited when I saw this announcement, VtM is probably one of my favorite systems. The dark fascination on Troy's face in just this first episode was amazing!
I totally agree with Noura - The Max Schrek Nosferatu and the DeFoe one are awesome movies 🥰 Meanwhile 5th Edition Vampire is the best version ever - So elegant and streamlined - Just a stellar system 🥰

Sydney overindulged in Disciplines. She had 2 Presence so she had only 2 dots left to spend on her other disciplines. So she could only take either 2 in Celerity OR Auspex.
Right now she has 2 in Presence (1 dot from Siren and one from starting dots), 2 in Celerity and 2 in Auspex. She has to remove either Celerity or Auspex.
Noura copied here and did the same.
Yeah. I don’t know if they will fix it by next session, but it’s fine. They could just be particularly talented and disciplined neonates. It’s a short chronicle so it won’t be too problematic.

@@DisEkript It's a short chronicle. So it won't be problematic. I only see two episodes, but I think they already finished it anyways since November was referred to as "a couple of months ago" in this episode and November was 6 months ago.
Syd and Noura have 6 dots in Disciplines, but should only have got 4 dots. You get 2 dots in 1 thing (e.g. the 2 dots go into Celerity = 2, then the 1 dot into Presence to make it 2, with the +1 Presence for Predator). But that means they haven't got any dots left for Auspex. Alternatively, they could have spent the 15XP to get Auspex 2 anyway (level 1 costs 5XP + level 2 = 10XP). [el'sda2].

Vampires! Yes please! Love you guys. BUT BUT BUT! Bram Stokers Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola was amazing! Gary Oldman's portrail of dracula was one of the best! And that soundtrack is also one of the best in cinema history! Just saying. Anyways. Carry on. :)
Wholeheartedly agree! Soundtrack, cinematography, and Gary Oldman's performance heavily outweighs the negatives. And I personally find Reeves' Ted-esque rendition of Harker to be charmingly awful. My biggest disappointment is Hopkins and his terrible "Dutch" accent.
Always Sunny + VTM + GCP= me being super happy.
Best vampire movie for me is The Last Man On Earth which is an adaptation of Richard Mathesons I Am Legend. Ironically even though its a deconstruction of vampire myths the film itself is basically the blueprint for pretty much every zombie movie made afterwards
It would have been nice if parts of the character sheets and/or character generation rules were displayed occasionally
V:tM Revised was my first long term game that I played. Absolutely loved it and it’s setting. Slowly branched out into the rest of the World Of Darkness. Having mixed feelings about 5th edition, but as always, love this show and how you all bring each scene to life.

Classy choice with young Terence Stamp. Not all vamps are purdy, but he had that kind of unearthly beauty that a lot of artsy vamps would want to preserve. This has my brain firing on all cylinders and I'm suddenly finding similarities between young Terence and young Udo Kier (speaking of vamps). Can't tell you how much I'm digging the vibe of everything you do.
High-five to Skid for theatre kid aversion. They make it hard to do theatre without throwing up in my mouth, and even harder to find a grown-up VtM group.

This was excellent. Character creation in NGWD is a great insight into the game we’re about to watch, but seeing the process unfold also helps make games more accessible and less intimidating to try out for new players. GCN and SOB are two great tastes that taste great together.

My favorite vampire story is actually an episode of the old animated series mighty Max it has one of the most unique looks of vampires ever and it really is dark for a kid's show like very dark and and like gory and gross really awesome

Watching this in 2024 after I've seen Skid wear a cape to pathfinder.
This is very late and must have obviously been noted before but Nourah and Sydney starting with 50% more dots on disciplines than Troy or Skid seem kind of and obvious mistake and I'm surprised Logan didn't catch it when Sydney retold her discipline picks. Even surprised Nourah did that seeing as she is the one of the players familiar with the system.
2/2/2 should be 1 dot from predator and 1 dot to a clan discipline and 2 dots to a clan discipline. Total 4 dots.

I love the Glass cannon podcast, but I have heard bad things about the old versions of this game. My group played it before I joined, and while they loved some of the other white wolf games, they always said VTM is their most popular, but they could never understand why. The characters never seemed fun to role play, and some of the clans were very odd. I was kind of in Skid's boat where I was never really big on Vampires, (We did have great fun running Werewolf the Apocalypse, 20th anniversary though, and I have heard great things about Mage as well) 5th Edition VTM seems awesome though, I am thinking it is worth a second look.

@Troy At your school did you know Miss Brigante? Or her son Rob? Well some called him Bob. He was one of my best friends. We partied so hard! Lol. His mom was a teacher at the Johnny. If you ever went to any of the old keg parties I probably ran into you. I didn't go to the Johnny but most of my friends did. I went to the Degenerate Wakefield High. My nick name was Stoney. Lol I hated that nick name but it stuck to the point teachers called me it. You probably graduated a couple years before me. I graduated in 95. I can't remember was the Dracula play in 92? I think one of my friends was also in it. Now I wish I went and saw it.

Over on the Stream of Blood, a character named Curtis Krieger is planning a trip to Philadelphia. He comes from the series Vampires of Pittsburgh. This game is to establish the setting and characters before Curtis goes to Philly in his story. It's an awesome way to do it!
Neo = New, Natus = Born -- The characters ARE Newborns... That's what a Neonate is.
I know this is a very old comment but yeah the term neonate here makes sense since in VTM a neonate is someone that is a "newborn in vampire society" so they have already been a vampire for a decade or more but was under the protection and guidance of their sire aka the vampire that turned them. btw a newly turned vampire is called a Fledgling.
I haven't watched the whole video yet. But I call bullshit. Skid HAS to like the movie Blade...
If for nothing else, it's primarily a movie about slaughtering tons of vampires.
