It never hurts to stay prepared. Some will laugh but they won’t be laughing if something big happens to disrupt us. We were all snowed in last month here for about 5 days. We were glad we had prepared.
Thank you for considering the homeless. It breaks my heart to see people living on the streets when both the USA and Canada have so many resources. We also donate clothing, sleeping bags, food, whatever we can. If we find a good sale, we buy extra. It's -18F here tonight and I'm grateful and blessed to have a warm safe place to lay my head down.
We have three little pantries In our immediate area. In the morning, I am going to go to the store and grab a few essentials and put some in each one of them. Especially with our kids being out of school… You would not imagine how many go without meals when we are not in school. Sometimes our schools will send home breakfast/lunch in a sack When they know, we are going to be out or weather the next day. So if anybody is reading this, and you have a little pantry in your area, consider throwing a few things in there that you might not be needing in your pantry or stop by Walmart or the dollar general and grab a few things to put in there. You’ll be blessing somebody and it will make you feel good too
Hello, love your videos. It is 15 degrees here in eastern ky and have 7 inches of snow and they are giving up to 4 more inches this weekend. I hope you and Marie feel a lot better. Have a blessed day ❤️
Nice haul. Continued prayers for Marie to feel better. We just got 11.5 inches in Missouri, expecting more tonight. You all be safe, stay warm. Blessings❤
Bless you for helping those in need. Like you, we do our best to remain prepared. We're in Southern Indiana, so we got a dandy portion of snow and ice a few days ago, with more to come-- but we're ready here on The Hill.
Hoping and praying Marie feels better. I always enjoy these prepping videos. They are very encouraging. We are expecting a little freezing rain down in Perry. Hope you both stay safe in the storm. Chris & Amanda
Great video Calvin. Tell Marie she is in my prayers to get better soon. We are getting another 2 to 4 inches of just snow Fri..thats on top of 8inches with sleet in southern IL.❄
What a great video! Y'all are way ahead of my husband & myself, but we are working towards this very thing, prepping. Continue to pray for y'all, rest & get well!
@anitalanger3589 Hello 👋🏾. I hope you and your family are staying warm ❤. We had a Mama and baby deer bedded down in our backyard earlier today. Since the snow has let up here, they've gone.
Great prepping haul. I hope you and Marie feel better soon. Thank you for donating the camping equipment to the homeless family. Any bit of kindness is a blessing. Have a great week. 😊💗
We need prayers for the people in California, the wildfires are so bad. We need prayers for the firefighters and all the people that have lost their homes in the fires. I live in North Carolina and I think about the people in the mountains communities that are living in tents. The homeless, that is another terrible subject. I see a man homeless at the interstate living under a tree, and the trash he has made is terrible, yes, it is sad. I pray we do not lose power, that is so selfish because there are alot of people worse off than me. Yes, it is sad to see people living on the streets. The scenes from the fire in La are just amazing. We live in troubled times and only God can help. Praying yall will be safe during this storm we are going to have. I went to the store this morning to avoid the crowds. It is really a sad time in LA that the fire fighters do not have water to fight all of these fires. Our country has so problems and only prayer is the answer.
Jimmy goes for a CT Scan by 6:45 this Thursday. His chest, abdomen, breathing all is not good. Prayers please. I know we will have no power, i will have to move him to a hotel. Thanks for all the info Calvin!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Susan, we will definitely be praying for Jimmy. I personally hate the early morning appointments. Praying that you can make it through this storm without losing power. Calvin and Marie
@SouthernCountryLiving I'm so nervous with this storm coming. He stays freezing now, with 3 to 4 blankets. I've cried so much. Thanks to the both of you🙏❤️
I hope Marie is feeling better by now. You're set now for awhile with your prepping supplies. My only complaint with the Great Value salt is the spout never stays on the top.
I so appreciate your strategies for getting prepared. I am under the weather, too after a family wedding with lots of hugging and kissing. Y'all stay safe and that milk at the dollar tree sounds perfect. So grateful you shared with the family that was unhoused. We are all here together.
Hello from Florida I wish you and your wife a safe snow storm. I'm definitely going to look into that latern you purchased because that is something I can use here when we loose power when we get a hurricane 🌀. I do the same during hurricane season.
Great haul! Love how you help the homeless, I do too. Been preparing and glad for it. Got a foot of snow here on Missouri, going to be -1 tonight. The storm won't hit Georgia until Friday. Stay safe and warm, yall right on top of it!
I just love the way you prep and stock up on things. Amazingly, I’m going to try to copy you. I love your show is very good both of you are such good people and you love God. I pray for you both to be well.❤🙏🙏
I just received my Walmart grocery delivery; and, wondering if I got enough 🤔 I still need to wash some clothes and fill up some water jugs; then I'm ready for snow in Rome, Georgia!!!
I have a few more loads of clothes that I need to get done as well. We’ve had our washer going all day today lol we’re going to take the trash off tomorrow as well because we always take it off on Fridays…
When we were stationed in Okinawa and later in Hawaii, I learned to keep our flour and cornmeal in the freezer. It keeps down the wheat bugs and other things that like to get in the flour, plus I kept the pasta in it, also. It’s just been a thing I’ve continued with. When plastic bags come out, I started putting them in the bags, plus in the freezer. When I told my mom about putting them in the freezer, she started doing it, too. Love your videos. Praying for Marie to get better and glad you’re over the most of yours.
Y'all showed the love of God by giving those items to the homeless folks. ❤ Good haul, thanks for sharing your pantry with us. Prayers for Marie and you Calvin. Take care of each other and God bless you both.
Your prepping hauls are always a good reminder to stock up, especially when you know inclement weather is coming, but even more important to always have a supply of items for unexpected events. Praying for the both of you to feel better soon.
The ground beef is great to use in anything you'd normally use cooked beef. Spagetti sauce, hamburger helper, tamales, tacos... the beef chunks I've made stroganoff, shepards pie, stew, and beef w/gravy using the broth it's canned in. I keep it on hand for storage, but it's useful when you haven't thawed out anything and need dinner in a pinch. 😊
You’ve got such kind hearts to share your items with others. I admire that. I’ve heard about the keystone beef too, I’ll look into trying it. I hope you both feel better soon.
The keystone beef is good with Baby Ray's bbq sauce and than l also add green pepper one chopped and a small to medium onion chopped and mix it all together and simmer it on stove with a cover till green pepper and onion are soft and sometimes I add my dehydrated or fresh cut up dark shiitake mushrooms. And l stir the beef and veggies every little bit so you don't burn the sauce or veggies in it Than l eat it on a hamburger bun or bakery bun.Enjoy🙂 you can do that with the keystone pork and chicken also very good that way.🙂
Hi Calvin!! I absolutely love your prepin haul videos!! Living up here in the mountains with our snow storms of Colorado and being about 80 miles round trip to our Walmart, Safeway and the hay farm for my horse we can appreciate your prep room with all the shelves!! Thank goodness for can goods. Its so cold here i can keep a cooler outside with meat and it stays like bricks! I also keep cold medicine, Tylenol, cough drops in supply you never know when you're going to be sick I hope you and Miss Marie are feeling better! Hi to Miss Marie and see you next time!! --Carole ❤️
I love the Keystone beef. I've been buying it for a couple of years. Try it in a crock pot with carrots and potatoes like pot roast 😋 they also have ground beef. It's good in spaghetti sauce and anything else you'd use ground beef in. I had it today with penne pasta. 😋
Good afternoon Calvin. I’m sure the homeless people appreciate your kindness in helping them. I’m very anxious to see how you like the canned beef. It’s a good idea to have camping supplies on hand just in case some family members lose power. We have plenty of camping supplies at my house because my family loves to go camping. I ordered some cough syrup from Walmart and before they left it we had to show our drivers license. I pray that Marie and you are on the way to feeling well again. ❤
I live outside Kansas City. We got 13" of snow on top of ice. Temps below zero @ night. Stocking up on canned meats is mandatory for storm pantry items. Also stocking up on instant rice & pastas is a lifesaver. I get them on sale during the year.
We are expecting 6 inches of snow here in E TN. Not happy about that, actually scared to death. Probably means power outages and I am alone. I bought several cans of the Keystone beef for the pantry. I gave a can of the ground beef to my granddaughter to try out. She made spaghetti and said that it was good. I was thinking that the beef would make a good , hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. It’s expensive but I can see making several recipes with it and it would provide a good amount of protein. I hope Marie gets better. There are so many things going around now, and our immune systems wear out. 😂 Be safe, warm and God bless.
I love seeing your prepping videos. Hope Marie feels better soon. Thanks for sharing. I’m can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the beef. In north Alabama we are predicted to get 5-6 inches of snow!
Great video. 🙏 prayers for Marie and you. We all need to be ready in case of emergency. Stay in where it is warm. I 🙏 all of us will be warm and safe. God bless everyone 🙏 ❤️ ✝️
Hi Calvin and Marie! Hope y’all get to feeling better soon! I just love watching both of you. I look forward to y’all’s emergency hauls too. I was born and raised on the Gulf coast of Louisiana…which means my entire life (66 yrs old now) my parents taught us how to prep for our hurricanes way ahead of time. Since my parents passed away, we’ve moved to the beautiful state of Colorado for the past 12 years. I still keep a nice stash of foods and supplies. We have learned life in the snow! My car is always prepared in case of an unfortunate blizzard which we got stuck in only once. But we never worried! I had food, water, blankets, towels…you name it, I had it. I even carry a portable toilet set up which was used during this blizzard. OMG, I could never have imagined it would EVER be used 😱 So, needless to say, it pays to be prepared for anything. P.S. And, that nice bottle of wine in my car stash sure did wonders for relaxing during that frightening experience 😜🍷 What can I say…that’s how we southerners do it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Many thanks to you guys and enjoy your potted meat. I just put a bunch in my Walmart cart too!
Great video and it never hurts to have some extra things especially if you were to loose power. As a camping grill for cooking, sleeping bags for extra warmth. You all take care & I hope Marie is feeling better soon
Thank you for showing us your great shopping haul. Hope you both feel better soon and hope you don't have too much snow! Warmest wishes from the UK 🙏❤️
You two are such a blessing!! Love your video's. From a very snowy St Louis Missouri with 10 inches of snow and more to come tonight. Wishing you all good health
Great video!! Calvin, please make a video when you prepare the Keystone Beef. I have a few cans of it in my prepper's pantry but have yet to try it. I made Marie's Mexican Cornbread Muffins this past weekend and my husband has already requested I make the next batch very soon. They are excellent and I'm not even a big cornbread fan! Stay warm!
I think you’ll enjoy the canned beef. I currently have another brand, and we’ve used it in beef stew, tacos, as BBQ beef sandwiches, etc. It’s a nice change from canned chicken and tuna. Hope y’all feel better soon! Sending get well wishes from North Carolina ❤
Nice finds for your restocking. 🙂 I am going to look for that fancy spinach at the dollar tree. Normally, I use frozen spinach but would love to add some canned to our pantry. We have tried the Keystone ground beef, and it was good for what it is. Of course, it is never going to be as good as fresh, but we were pleasantly surprised with it and really happy that it only had two ingredients, beef and sea salt. I also hear they are a great company to deal with in terms of customer satisfaction and service. All the best to you all! 💖
I hope Marie is feeling better…God bless you both, you’re always on my prayer list. Thank you for showing us your haul, and thank you for helping the homeless…Margo
Many many thanks for sharing your thoughts and suggestions on which foods to keep a stock of. I especially appreciate your suggestions re canned meats!
Hi Calvin and Marie you said just supposed to get a snowstorm on Friday well we got a snow storm Sunday and Monday of last week and we got like 8 inches of snow and we're supposed to get more on Friday too 1:00 to 3 in I don't like this weather I wish it would go away but I guess this is the year that we get a lot of snow we haven't got a lot of snow in a long time so I guess it's our time here in Kentucky thank you for making all your videos I love them all I watch them all take care of yourself and stay warm and safe thank you😊😊❤❤
Yes, I've been seeing that Kentucky was getting snow. We saw a few flurries on Monday morning but that was all. It will be interesting to see if we get anything.
Thanks for such great ideas. ❤😊 We also prep food items. We live outside Huntsville AL and are expecting 5-8 inches on Friday. We will likely get that much, but it should be all melted off the streets by Monday. I hope we don’t lose power. ❤
I always enjoy watching when you shop. Marie and Calvin feel better soon. Take your vitamins and add some lemon and honey with your teas. Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Many folks are sick now. A nice bowl of chicken soup always makes you feel better. Stay safe and stay warm. ♥
I love watching your prepping hauls! I hope you enjoy the new canned beef. I have a can in my storage and haven't tried it yet so I hope you like it. Stay warm and I hope you and Marie feel better real soon!❤
❤Hi From WV . Hope you are feeling well and that Marie feels better soon. We really enjoy your prepping hauls as well as all the others! Thanks for all you do. We received about 8 inches of snow and about 3 ish inches of ice. We are snowed in. Keep warm ❤

Marie and I saw the snow flurries on Monday morning here in Rome. We're hoping to see a small amount of snow but nothing bad. The stores are packed.
We saw them in Carrollton as well! It has just been a very frigid week here in our region.

6:46 seeing the burner on in the background without anything on it was a bit concerning but obviously you all are safe so that’s good.
Lol, we do that a lot to take the chill off of the kitchen faster, especially when it is so cold outside.

As long as the flame is all blue its ok to run the burner for awhile like that...I wouldn't leave it for too long though...
Always good to see prepping ideas!

Thanks for sharing your story and your advice. We appreciate it!
I love all of your guys' videos, but I especially like the prepping ones!
Thanks very much
Great video and it never hurts to have some extra things especially if you were to loose power. As a camping grill for cooking, sleeping bags for extra warmth. You all take care & I hope Marie is feeling better soon
Thanks very much. Stay safe and warm
Thank you for showing us your great shopping haul. Hope you both feel better soon and hope you don't have too much snow! Warmest wishes from the UK 🙏❤️
Thanks so much. We appreciate you watching us from the UK
You two are such a blessing!! Love your video's. From a very snowy
St Louis Missouri with 10 inches of snow and more to come tonight. Wishing you all good health
Thank you so much, we appreciate it! Stay safe and warm!
Stay warm!
Thanks very much! We're glad you liked the cornbread!
Loved your grocery haul!
Thanks very much!
Thanks very much, yes we loved the first can that we tried this weekend.
Enjoyed seeing the haul hope you will both feel better soon and will be safe through the storm 😊
Thanks so much 😊
God bless you both and stay safe 🇮🇪
Thanks very much
Nice finds for your restocking. 💖
Thanks very much, we are so glad you enjoyed the haul!
Hope you both feel well quickly, stay warm, drink plenty of fluids and rest when you can. xx
Thank you! Will do!
I hope Marie is feeling better…God bless you both, you’re always on my prayer list. Thank you for showing us your haul, and thank you for helping the homeless…Margo
Thanks very much, Margo!
I hope you two start feeling better real soon.❤

Also in Kentucky wish it would go away quickly!
I’m with you on the mayonnaise. I only use Blue Plate also.
It is the best!
Thanks for such great ideas. ❤😊 We also prep food items. We live outside Huntsville AL and are expecting 5-8 inches on Friday. We will likely get that much, but it should be all melted off the streets by Monday. I hope we don’t lose power. ❤
Stay safe up there in Huntsville!
Love your videos. Discovered them not all that long ago. Hubby and I are in our 70's and have been "preppers for about 30 years. God bless you.
That is awesome! Thanks very much
I always enjoy watching when you shop. Marie and Calvin feel better soon. Take your vitamins and add some lemon and honey with your teas. Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Many folks are sick now. A nice bowl of chicken soup always makes you feel better. Stay safe and stay warm. ♥
Thanks for the advice, we'll try the lemon and honey in our tea. We hope you stay safe and warm as well!
I loved this video love
