Today we watch the Niedersachsenderby: Hannover vs Braunschweig. Not only Germany's 2nd oldest derby, but also the most violent in the country. With regular brawls, fights & attacks, this match is no joke. The hatred between these 2 clubs is deep and I wanted to witness that myself.. Fair to say it was just as crazy as I expected...😳

I'm a 96 fan and live near Braunschweig and can say that it's definitely one of the toughest derbies. It's very hard for me. For example, I couldn't just walk through Braunschweig wearing a Hannover jersey without being sure I wouldn't get beaten up. Good block, by the way - I often sit there too.
After Sunday, I totally know what you mean. Just madness 🤯
this is very comum in my country. Some people really fight because of football. That's a little bit normal to find a group of fans fighting each other after a match
@@Todesmorgenso isses richtig
This is a better atmosphere than most top teams
No shit
Obviously a local community team has better support than big tourist teams
Better than Chelsea
Unfortunately, the Ultras Hannover had to cancel the choreo because the police were of the opinion that there were not enough security guards available to set up the choreo.
German football fans are insane 🤯
Ja mein brüder 🗿
They are INSANE
You think that’s insane ? Have you seen Brazil vs Argentina ? In the past, Argentinian players and fans were attacked by their Brazilian rivals, not just the fans, but the Brazilian police literally joins in on the fight.
@@janicenascimento9625Police is normal in Germany
on 26/11 there will be the Calabrian derby Catanzaro-Cosenza, a match deeply felt by both fans that will be played in the Italian Serie B after 32 years since the last time. It would be incredible to see Fiago at such a little-known but very exciting derby, in a too underrated region of Italy.
I’m a palermo fan and I have always recognized this derby. I really want to see this in person as well

Fantastic video mate, really shows how fierce the rivalry is between these two clubs. I'm from New Zealand and am a Hannover 96 fan, having taken a liking to them while playing EA FIFA (just EA FC these days) over a decade ago. Ron-Robert Zieler is my favourite player in the current squad. Last year, while visiting my sister and her husband who were living in London in England at the time, we popped over to Germany and visited Berlin and Hannover. In Berlin we toured the beautiful Olympiastadion that was empty at the time. I stood at the end of the ground where the penalty shootout took place in the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final and imagined being there at the time.
Then we came over to Hannover and went to a game between Hannover 96 and Karlsruher SC. While Karlsruher isn't as fierce a rival as Eintracht Braunschweig is to Hannover, we turned up at the train station when the Karlsruher "Ultras" arrived and I remember them singing and chanting at the top of their lungs while being surrounded by Riot Police dressed in full gear complete with machine guns. It was something else that I have never experienced before as New Zealand sports fans are pretty tame in comparison! When we arrived at the Niedersachsenstadion for the game the people at the gate asked my sister to dump a bottle of water she was carrying, to which I assume could have been in case she lost the plot and threw it like a projectile! Meanwhile the Karlsruher Ultras let off flares and sparklers at the start of the game!
96 managed to win the game 1-0 thanks to a header by the now retired Hendrik Weydandt. The whole experience was fantastic and I probably won't ever get to experience it again. Obviously the atmosphere in a Braunschweig game at that stadium (and their home ground) is on another level of intensity, such is the fierceness of the rivalry between the two clubs and cities, than what I saw when the Karlsruher Ultras turned up.
Wow, thanks for this incredible insight man!! Greetings to New Zealand on the other side of the planet 🇳🇿
@@Fiago cheers mate, thank you. New Zealand has currently just one professional football club, called the Wellington Phoenix who play in the Australian A League. They are set to be joined by a club based in Auckland from next season in the league.
The Phoenix "Ultras" are a group called the Yellow Fever and the clubs colours are yellow and black like Borussia Dortmund. Their most iconic tradition at home games is to remove their shirts if the Phoenix are winning games at the 80 minute mark.
Unlike in Europe it's harder for them to travel to games in Australia as they need passports and it's a costly exercise, so the bulk of them just go to the home games. Some handfuls of expats go to the games in Australia so they do get some support when they travel there.
Nur der Ksc🔵⚪️
@@noelburland7169 Another kiwi here, I think that if the Phoenix had fans like the German clubs, then it'd be worse for 80% of stadium atendees
Im from Hannover, i can get you a place to stay hmu
I'm English, but in the past couple of years I've been falling in love with German football. The atmosphere in so many of the games is just crazy! I love all the flares and huge banners they roll out, and the noise the fans make is just incredible!
Those Braunschweig fans throwing _entire rows_ of seating are insane as well lol! Throwing a single seat here and there is crazy enough. But throwing an entire ROW? Multiple times?? Absolutely bonkers! There _HAD_ to have been someone in there with a set of tools unbolting them lol. I swear, if that happened in the English Premier League, they'd probably abandon the game because of 'crowd trouble', but in Germany they're just like "Nah, it's fine. Carry on".
Love it. Best leagues in Europe!
Hahah love this! Yeah German ultras are pretty mental but it‘s part of our culture here pretty sure the organizers weren‘t even surprised to see the rows flying 😂

the banners from both sides (96: Ihr habt 120 Minuten.. and BTSV: Leugnen, Kopieren...) are references not to the big 96 Logo on Braunschweigs pitch but to the last derby in Braunschweig, where Braunschweig smuggled blue and yellow smoke into the away block and remote-detonated them. 96 did something similar months later when Braunschweig played some other team in the second Bundesliga. Actually you could see a couple of Brauschweig Ultras looking under all the seats to check, that they wouldnt have that happen again.
War echt ne geile Aktion von beiden Seiten to be fair

As a fellow Nürnberg fan I’d suggest going to the Franken Derby cuz it’s fairly balanced in wins and losses and the atmosphere kn the max morlock stadium is very nice and it’s a pritty stadium in my opinion
I will try to be there but is it also nice in Fürth? Cause the next one is in Fürth
@@FiagoFürth Stadium is very little in comparison to the one of Nuremberg. Biggest Problem is, that it is going to be hard to get a ticket, because they won’t be sold to everybody. And the atmosphere is much better in the stadium of Nurenberg, so I would suggest to wait till next season, or go to both 😉
@@Fiago If it is at night, go to Fürth. It actually is very intence because the stadium is very compact. And FCN will afource be very present as the away team :D

Germany is insane. That´s the 2nd Devision :D Incredible!
I love German football. I started watching EPL football in the 90s, but at UK you have all kinds of rubbish rules at the stadiums. Naturally i Supported Bayern since 1998, but the German football and their fans are awesome. Can literally chug down literes of Beer at the stadium and the ultra culture is so nice. I remember meeting some of them at a trip in the US and they instantly recongised me, at the stadium watching German football, so we hanged out for beers.
Germans are so much fun when it comes to football.
Sweden recently had an incident where Malmö ultras burned down a safety net behind the Elfsborg GK, and then burned some flares triggering the fire alarm and causing partial evacuation of the stadium.
That seems to be standard affairs in this derby though.
go to a istanbul derby like for example: the fenerbahce vs besiktas match coming soon, a galata vs besiktas match, or the biggest of them all, a galatasaray vs fenerbahce derby
You have to go to the Croatian eternal derby, preferably the one on Poljud. The atmosphere is great, especially on the east and north stands

These intense derbies are probably the hardest kind of games a football player can ever play in his carrier. Watching it live as a neutral must be crazy!
Definitely!!
Bro love your Videos just come to the Belgrade Derby against Red Star Belgrade and partizan
On my list!
Honestly, you can tell similar stories about most German derbies, like how Cologne fans once beat up Michal Kadlec of Bayer Leverkusen in a club, based purely on the Leverkusen part. Or how Wilde Horde hools from Cologne once attacked a Gladbach fan bus by throwing literal bricks through the windows. Or how Cologne ultras shit-talked their way into a storage facility inside Borussia-Park in Mönchengladbach used by Gladbach ultras, stole their block banner, smuggled the banner into the stadium during a derby years later, tore it to shreds, almost causing a riot that threatened to end the game, forcing the Gladbach ultra organization to disband due to the unwritten law that your organization can't exist without its block banner. And this is only stuff I was able to come up with off the top of my head involving Cologne.
I'm not saying Hannover v. Braunschweig isn't fierce, but labelling any single rivalry as the most violent one is a bit redundant, as even most non-rivalry confrontations can become violent nowadays. I remember twenty years ago, Eintracht Frankfurt ultras were shooting fireworks at Aachen fans when they came here on away games, and we had basically no history with them that would have provoked that. There was a point in time a few years back when it was almost expected of any "good" fan scene to more or less tear down their own stadium in case they got relegated. Hertha fans did it, HSV fans did it, at one point Waldhof Mannheim fans (at the time fourth-tier in the German football pyramid) torched their own pitch because they missed promotion to third-tier football against Uerdingen.
Basically, away games almost always feel like you're getting ready to go to war.
yeah, there are some equally intense rivalries, i've seen blood being cleaned off the pavement the morning after Halle vs. Magdeburg for instance.
I feel stupid because I didn’t know this was a rivalry 😂
looks like a regular tel aviv derby
