    Hi Chetan,
    What should be specifications for a sleeping bag. Like temperature it can sustain and maximum weight?

    • @ChetanShende
      @ChetanShende  Год назад

      Frankly speaking on EBC Trek sleeping bag not required. In every Tea House and Lodge you will get thik blanket (Rajai). But still you want to use your own then -10 degree rating sleeping bag would be good enough

    • @AshishKumar-iw5dz

      @@ChetanShende ohh... So, it's not mandatory to carry a sleeping bag then?

    • @ChetanShende
      @ChetanShende  Год назад

      @@AshishKumar-iw5dz Yes..not mandatory, i want to mention one thing here..what i believe and always ready for, if on the trail any unforeseen circumstances like snow storm in between and there is no shelter for kilometers and kilometers and event i cant move ahead due to low visibly in the storm and had to spend night in open, in such cases sleeping bag can be life saver. This is what I plan. But adding sleeping 1-2 kg weight or removing it from list can make or break your trek..so take decision wisely :)

    Hello . watching this again and now I have a query (again)..... What will be advantage of carrying Hydration Blader and 5 Liters Portable Collapsible Water Storage both? Is one optional?
    some products are out of stock. Would you be kind enough to suggest alternatives?

    • @ChetanShende
      @ChetanShende  3 месяца назад +1

      Hydration blader gives you, hand free flexibility to drink water while moving without removing rucksack or to search for water bottle here and there. I believe some times we avoid drinking water, because we dont want to mess with rucksack on uneven terrain and this can impact our water intake per day target. But yes..even you are using hydration blader still you need at least 1 water bottle with you, metallic is highly preferable. and 5 liter Portable storage is useful for wild camping. You can carry water from longer distance for your need. On EBC 5 ltr water storage not required.. For out of stock product i can search.. and help you to select suitable for you...let me know for which product you are searching for..

    Chetan, my trip starts on Wednesday, and there is one aspect I am worried about: it is finance.
    My debit card also has that sentence written on the back. (I could not pay Yeti/TaraAir through their site, but I managed to pay them through a link that customer care sent me.)
    Since I am not sure about this card working in ATMs, I think I need to bring cash to be on the safe side.
    But Indian flights have a rule : Not more than 25,000 INR per person allowed. (I am not sure how strictly they enforce this).
    You can see why I am worried.... 😅
    Any insights from your end?
    Either regarding this cash limit, or regarding ATMs?
    Google searches and TripAdvisor give ambiguous answers.
    Apologies for the long question, Thanks in advance.

      Answer to your question
      Even i converted my normal debit card into International, still its written there, about Nepal Bhutan transaction. But yes it works there with some transaction charges, even non International Cards works there.
      On flights i carried only 25000 cash. No one checked but still i followed the rules, and will say as responsible person every one should follow Airlines rules.

      @@ChetanShende
      Hi Chetan!
      I am already back from my trip, but even so, thank you for taking the time to respond to the query! 😃
      As an update for future viewers who might se this: My card did not work in most of the ATMs, but it worked once, and I got NPR10, 000 (INR 6000) added to my funds. The strange thing is that it worked only on the third time I desperately tried the same ATM, and when I tried it once again after that, it didn't work. So it seems to be purely chance, and I don't know what the rules are (if any) for withdrawal to work.
      Luckily, this along with my original 25k turned out to be more than enough funds but throughout my trip I did have this fear at the back of my mind: "If something bad happens, I don't have any emergency backup money".
      I am not sure what advice I can pass on to future solo travelers either, except to literally try every ATM you see, everyday, until something works.
      My card did not work in Kathmandu, in any ATM including SBI. It worked in Lukla in some random Kumari bank ATM, on the third try.
      It's either this, or discreetly carrying more than 25k cash on the plane, which of course is not something we can safely/responsibly advise anyone.
