  • kenzie opens up to ET's Deidre Behar about 'anatomy,' her new single, out now, about her broken relationship with her dad. The singer addresses their estrangement, and why she felt empowered to write a song about it. kenzie says, her sister, Maddie Ziegler, who choreographed the music video, provided the support she needed to release such a personal song. Plus, kenzie dishes on plans to release an album, tour and her romance with Tacoda Dubbs. Although they're very in love and have been together for three years, kenzie explains why she's not ready to move in together yet!

      The only sad thing is I remember watching Dance Moms and her dad tried to come in the room to see Maddie and her. Abby Miller shooed him off and made him leave. I remember him begging to see her and saying please repeatedly. Then he was saying he loved her and her sister. So I really wish she would write the letter to her dad like her counselor recommended.

      @@nikkis8102this was her version of a letter. Just because it isn’t your version doesn’t mean this wasn’t an acceptable way to go about it. Do you even know what goes in to writing a song? It isn’t as simple as sitting down and writing a letter.
      You’ve got to stop believing “reality” TV the entire thing is scripted and edited to make things completely different than what actually happened.

    As a woman who had an amazing father and relationship with him, my heart goes out to every girl who needed that father figure in their life and didn’t get the relationship I had. I wish all the women in this world could have a loving and special bond with their Dads. My Dad was and will always be my biggest inspiration. There is no friendship more sacred than that of great Dad. God bless those who are struggling in any way whether it be with their Dad, or another family member. You are important and worthy of love. Don’t forget this.

    What makes Kenzie such a great artist is that at such a young age she is able to really capture real emotions and help people not feel alone with her music by being like hey I’ve been through this too. Not a lot of artists do that these days; I really hope to continue hearing more songs like this from Kenzie. Much love❤️

      As a person with a father who took that route for a long time and remained extremely flaky for the remainder of it, I feel this deeply. Growing up I was forced to be empathetic to everyone else except my own needs, “he’s struggling right now that’s why he can’t see me” but in reality it’s your responsibility to put yourself aside and focus on your kids. I’m 19 now just like Kenzie and I don’t have many good memories of him, just broken promises, random phone calls, and trauma. I still have love for him, but it’s time I have empathy for myself. Listening to this song with my older sister we were bawling because it felt like we were seen. We are the only ones in our family who had to go through a toxic divorce and now one really understood how we were feeling because they were trapped in their view of the situation, so this was a comforting experience.

    • @ndlamont01
      @ndlamont01 11 месяцев назад

      So true but this in my opinion was a case of parent alienation by Melissa. She was already cheating and when the divorce finalized she refused to let him keep the kids or see them. Even iin DMs the other moms would ask if she was going to have the dad keep the kids while she went out of town frequently with her "boyfriend" she was cheating on her husband with. She would always say ON CAMERA, "No, he'll never seen them again they are stay with a friend". The moms told her he had a right to know she was going out of town leaving the kids and she'd said it's none of his business. The episode he came to watch the kids dance, Abby made him leave. Then shortly later they loved to LA so he couldn't see them

    Maybe I’m old at 32 😂 when she said usually at her age people start living together. Or maybe she means 3 years in not age. I met my now husband in 2013 when I was 21 (the year I graduated college). Started living together in 2017, so 4 years in and I was 25. Got engaged in 2018, and married April 30th 3023. Take your time Kenzie. I think it’s better anyways. You really get to know someone the longer you’re together and then if you do break up at least you’re not spending money on a divorce like I feel so many young people do.
    I think this song is amazing and that it was a recommendation by your therapist. I was actually a psych major in undergrad so that’s close to my heart.
    I had my dad in my life so don’t know first hand, except I did lost my dad to cancer in 2020 when he was 56.

      I don't know if you've listened to Maddie and Kenzie's podcast but they've spoken on there about when they were little and their Dad was home with them that he wouldn't take care of them and their Mom only found out when Maddie called her to say she couldn't reach the milk in the fridge to make Kenzie her breakfast. There's more to the story than what you see on Dance Moms although Abby didn't help at all.

      @@georgiaemily Oh ok. I see. No, I haven't listened to it but I do knows mothers turn their kids against people they don't like.
      I did everything for my neice and then my sister turned her against me. My sister would take little things and twist it if my neice didn't get what she want. One time my neice begged me to stay over at their house so I did but I told my neice I had to leave my a certain time the next day. When the certain time came, my neice was upset that I was leaving & my sister blew it up and acted like I didn't care about my neice. So idk kids are easily manipulated.

      @@nikkis8102I’m sorry that happened to you but this is not that situation. Both girls have opened up about it in recent years. At 6 Maddie had to take care of Kenzie and get them both ready for school because their dad couldn’t bother to wake up. Maddie has also talked about how their dads said of the family didn’t really want anything to do with them and their dad let it happen. I’m not saying Melissa is perfect but the stuff that has really hurt them has had nothing to do with Melissa

    I believe it’s her mother, Melisa’s fault also. She never encouraged their relationship. In my opinion.
