    this also works awesome for contact lens, just dont mind the pain from your eyeballs being attacked by the chemicals in the vaseline, it's just cleaning the surface for 20/20 vision.

    Take eyeball out with spoon, keep attached to eye socket, fill eye socket with Vaseline, push eye back.

    25 years in optics....dawn does work but you wouldn't want to use it exclusively. Depending on how the lenses were manufactured will determine the coatings put on the lenses. Why risk it when actual lens cleaner is inexpensive

      Serious question: I have some of what would technically be called Denatured Alcohol... it's about 75% Methanol and Ethanol with 25% water... would you recommend using that on my Leupold scope?

    If you have a coating on your glasses, don't use dish washing soap. It ruins the coating. Been there, done that.

      It doesn't. I used dish washing soap for over 8 years on a pair of glasses and the coatings were still functional.

      @derekbilderoy7162 it does. I had to have a brand new pair of glasses repaired because I cleaned the lenses with dishwashing liquid. If you have a coating on your glasses, I wouldn't take the risk.

      ​@@dizzylizzy7582 I used eyeglass wipes until an optometrist informed me, they were damaging my glasses.
      No one's mentioned this before ,I have all the coatings, and as someone who has needed glasses since the fourth grade, I'm an old lady 👵,
      it was quite a surprise. The optometrist recommended using warm water, not hot, along with dish soap and a lint-free cloth, such as my husband's T-shirt or microfiber cloths. Following this advice, my glasses have lasted two years so far.👓

    Anti-fog products don’t work, waste of money.
    I’ve read about using shaving foam; a drop of baby shampoo.
    My optician said having the glasses too high causes fog, (I’m extremely hot-natured & humid climate) however that’s where I see better.
    So, I’ll give this a try.

      Shaving foam ,cream works wonders! Just wipe it off with a clean lens cloth ! No water!

    i applied w,up liquid onto windows to rid of condensation and there was just a bit of condensation . just a tiny drop on a dry j.cloth does half a normal size window and wipe off with another j.cloth . i shall do that on my car windows and my glasses too hence it may be the same effect as vaseline both items work .

      Quite possibly. Dish washing liquid destroyed the coating on my new specs. Lesson learned.

      Should do I used something on my car windows a few years ago inside and out stopped fogging up and rain beaded off the outside, I used silicone based WD40 lubricant not the regular WD40.

    Sent this vid to a co-worker to try out as a guinea pig JIC it resulted in issues. Bad move. Apparently he'd never heard of vaseline and got a bit carried away using it. Unfortunately not on the lenses. He's blind now.
    Man am I glad you didn't come out with this in the 70's. Slap Shot would'na been the same without the Hansen Bros!!!

    Make-up foundation works better than Vaseline. Just get any drugstore foundation with titanium oxide as an ingredient, saturate your glasses, let sit anywhere from 30m to overnight in the liquid, then get out your microfiber cloth that was included in your glasses case, and buff until your glasses sparkle!
    Also works with sunscreen. 👍

    interesting trick, but I have to comment on one thing which is NEVER put your fingers directly on your lenses. Microfiber cloths aren't that expensive, just use them at each stage.

    Lord all this when you can have this done in 30 seconds! Im 60 and do this even eith my bathrooom mirrors. Take some shafing cream snd spread ot and then you take a doft rag and eipe it off! You done snd no gog and all this in 30 sec. 😂

    Applying Harpic on glasses is bound to peel off the anti-glare and anti-UV protection film from it as Harpic is harsh enough to remove strong iron stains from wash basins and commodes. Wouldn't recommend that.
