    0:37 I think the criterions for being an audiophile are that you love great sound and that you invest heavily to achieve that at home (and of course that you then actually listen regularly to enjoy that investment). According to the reasons that you mention, you could still be an audiophile but you just don’t wanna call yourself that. Personally, I’m a sort of a wannabe audiophile, but always held back by the steep prices.
    Thanks for your insightful review, btw.

      You make some very valid points 😁 tech is a massive interest of mine in general and if I’m honest, this boils down to looking at shiny things my parents couldn’t afford. my next purchase will be a SONOS soundbar once the house is finished 👍🏻 thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it.

      Audiophiles used to be called Audio Buff’s…

    Does a pair of these sound better than lets say, a pair of edifier 1700? Or some 150ish bookshelf active speakers?

      I’m sorry to say I’m not well versed in the area, I’m just giving my opinion on the Sonos x IKEA speaker 😁 it’s a decent speaker for the price no doubt

      They won’t, but they sound pretty solid for the money, look good, and integrate well into a “whole home” audio setup. If you want the best possible sound in the price range, get dedicated bookshelf speakers, but the difference isn’t going to be massive, but definitely noticeable.

    I just purchased two IKEA Sonos bookshelf speakers for rear surround to work with my Sonos Beam. I’m looking for speaker stands for them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

      Have you looked at the wall mounting bracket from IKEA to couple with the speaker? 😁

      Yes, but I don’t want to put holes in the wall. Maybe down the road. Thanks

      Makes sense 😁 well there is this article from WhatHiFi and other than that I find Richer Sounds are really helpful and knowledgeable if you give them a call 👍🏻

      @@jameslee2215 I used to think like that 35 years ago and then quickly came to the conclusion that life is short holes be damned. Now I install these with both AC mains and LAN cables going in right behind the speaker as it's mounted to the wall. it really looks wireless without the wireless shortcomings.

    Can you just connect it via AirPlay without the app?

    • @unknown_legend
      @unknown_legend  2 года назад

      Yes you can although I think you might need to use the app to set it up to your network first. I bought one for my office and this was the only way to set it up, once setup airplay off any phone worked 👍🏻

      @@unknown_legend thanks man. Very informative! By the way, how does this compare to say an Edifier R1280DBs?

      @@clumsycarl6943 not a problem. Unfortunately this isn’t a product I’m familiar with as I’m not an ‘out and out’ audio reviewer so I don’t feel confident passing comment 😁
