Thanks man - grand review. And yes, appreciate that you’re not “shouty” ! Think it was Charlie Bird brought that shoutiness to Ireland! Can’t watch Doug DeMuro, or Furious Driving - get exhausted listening to them ! Anyway - hope Skoda bring out an electric Octavia-size soon - one that can have a towbar and a roof rack ( unlike ID3). Oh, and one-pedal, again, unlike ID3 !
Skoda now seem to be finding their level, and are now producing high quality cars with a premium feel. It's been said Skoda build quality now nudges ahead of VW's..... I wouldn't argue with that.. Skoda *was* a premium brand in the 1930's.....
Amazing how all moving parts removed more or less from electric cars, yet it costs so much more for less and everything nowadays is an "extra" as if it actually is..... Decent review and reliable brand.

Great review. I’m in the uk so still working out miles v KM but enjoy your reviews. I’m holding on and have ordered PHEV (for tax benefits) until the infrastructure is right for EV but this is 100% at the top of the list for me. Love it. 👍🏼
This convinced me to take a test drive, review was spot on. Only disappointment is the UK 52 week wait 😭Dealer had a cancellation due in 2 months but the smaller battery and spec options meant Id rather wait and get the set up I want
Great review, thanks. Much prefer the look of this to the ID4, and it'll be usably less expensive than the Tesla Model Y. I think the Ionic 5 will be the acid test, depending on pricing. It's great to have so much choice!
I must have watched every review of this car available on RUclips even ones in languages I don’t speak ( I know 😩 ) and this is the best review of the car I have seen. Two minutes in I liked and subscribed. You are the only one that spotted no usb at the mirror for the dash cam and with no cigarette lighter to plug into it’s going to be awkward to fit one. If I was ordering it new I would definitely go with the 125KW charge option especially if you do long journeys regularly as you will spend only 40 minutes for a charge from 10% to 80% and you will be gone through the toll on the way to Dublin while the guy with the 50KW charger is still at the Barack Obama Plaza. The 21 inch wheels look great but not for most Irish roads. The 19 or 20 will do fine. I know now I definitely made the right decision so can’t wait for July.
A lot of people saying this is better than the ID4. Skoda and Seat are offering customers a lot more than VW at the moment but I still the ID4 is a better-looking car inside and out. With the interior, less is sometimes more. Skoda has plastered the interior of this car in PU leather. Like a cheap leather sofa this doesn't necessarily make the car any more premium. It actually cheapens it in my opinion. The fabrics in the ID4 are really well designed and of good quality. Also, you notice the difference in interior quality when you get into the nitty gritty bits like the steering wheel, buttons etc...
Thanks for review I hav an Enyaq ordered arriving early July hopefully can’t wait to go electric, hav my own solar PV roof to charge car during the day
That is a really good looking practical car. No doubt a 7 seat version will be along before too long. I would like to see a more practical place for cable storage, seems daft putting under boot floor as when fully loaded you can’t get to them - perhaps under bonnet a better place?
Nice review but my one gripe: and this is with all Car reviews; they are always the top of the range version. Would be nice to see reviews of the standard ones that most of us can afford.
Depends what trim spec the brands put on. They’re not always top of the range but in many cases they are. Our job is to not be blinkered by it / call out what is extra money
Always enjoy your reviews Mark, but as a diesel driver I simply cannot accept the lack of range especially in cold weather as you pointed out in the start of this video. My next car won't be a diesel, more likely a PHEV. Nice car but very expensive.
I love Enyaq.. Much more premium looking than KiA, Hyundai or even it's sister brand's iD 3/4. The range is superb and it has more room than anyone would need. Although it's relatively cheap at the start, the additional equipment is very expensive so you're probably looking at another 10 grand sinking in the car..
Looks like very firm ride on camera. Car makes sharp movements on bad surface. I know only tiny bumps get absorbed by fat tires, everything else is suspension job and given 2t weight does it result into firm ride?
21" wheels and an 80 kW battery to thank for that. Mrs. has an Id3 1st plus, when you hit something sharp like a ramp/kerb to driveway or the like, you can feel weight of it; tricky to get suspension damping right with that amount of weight.
I did test drive it here in Switzerland which is an ideal country for EVs (small distances, great charger infrastructure). Unfortunately the display froze twice in a 2 day period. Restarting the car didn't help and I had to Google on the spot how to do a reset. No information, air conditioning, navigation a.o. during that outage. It was not giving me a very secure feeling that something like this could happen so often. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future SW update but for now this car wold be way to unreliable for me for this reason.
Can't decide on the 20" wheels or the 21" razer blade looking wheels (in this video). Help me decide please folks! Would the 21" use more battery? Also went for moon white, was a toss up between that and race blue!
Nice review - thanks Nobby. Certainly better looking than the ID4 and seems plusher inside. It should be the other way around with VW and Skoda surely. What’s going on with VW lately?!
Costs have taken a hit. The ID.4 will do everything the Enyaq can, it just has a different dress. There's without question however, people who will choose a VW badge over a Skoda one.
@@NobbyOnCars More fool them. Skoda appears to have an edge in build quality over VW these days....... But yes, I agree. Some people just can't get past a badge.

Love the interior, just not the shape of the outside it looks like it was to be a estate but they decided to stop it half way lol. the digital cockpit looks smaller and less useful than the one in my ds3 crossback too as that seems long and higher which is good for the sat nav to be show on it
I think style has taken a backward step with the the Enyaq...take the fancy wheels off it and you wouldn't give it a second glance compared to the new E.V. cars coming from Kia and Hyundai. Enjoyed the review.
Kia and Hyuandai both have take 1980 old car model and photo shop it. Take a look Dodge Omni does it look similar to Ioniq 5 or Lancia delta integrale for EV6.
Hi Nobby, great review! Now you have me torn between the ID.4 and the Enyak, but my real conundrum is that i live in Donegal and commute to Dublin once a week for work (work has charging ports but not many!), is now the right time for me to go electric or stick with the trusty diesel? My commute is just shy of 300km each way and i hadn't taken the cold weather into consideration until i watched your reviews... Thanks, Stephen
If you can get the 77kWh battery you’ll do it I’d guess. Charge at work and same again. You won’t get a full charge on a slower charger in a typical 8 hour workday either, another thing to factor but if you can get near a 50kW charger you’ll deffo be ok. 8 hours on slower charge will be roughly 240kms of range I think (very off the top of my head maths here)!
if you were to spec it out similar to an ID4 tech trim the skoda comes in a little bit more expensive but the kicker will be anything over the 60k mark and you don't get the grant or the full grant anyway i think.
We just realised we can charge an ev using a cable with protection across the pavement. Planning to buy a nice new car as a treat, it’s between BMW 330i Touring, Tesla Model 3LR or good spec Enyaq, which would you choose? Some reviewers think EVs lack the character of a good ICE car.
Thanks. I’d really like a good driver’s car that’s why I first thought of the BMW 3. However suddenly EVs seem to be viable. I just hated the Nissan Leaf I tried a few years ago The Model 3 seems hard to beat, if sufficient boot space. But would have preferred a hatchback to take two bikes. Enyaq would obviously be better. Tesla 3 sounds more exciting to drive. Will need to arrange some test drives.
Here in the UK at least Steve, any local authority can apply for funding to fit a grid/gully in the pavement outside your home. The installation allegedly takes around 30 minutes, and means that a charging cable passes under the pavement rather than over it. Ev's might lack a little bit of character Steve, but the big reduction in running and servicing costs will help to restore your smile........ I almost bought a Leaf Mk1 a few years ago, but the Miss Marple styling put me off...
Have driven the ID4 for a long cross country drive in Norway and have test driven the Enyaq - both very good to drive, both good looking cars in my opinion, but the Skoda wins hands down on interior, boot space and primary and secondary controls. The touch sensitive controls in the ID4 are an absolute menace, irritating at best, dangerous at worst. The VW 'feels' a bit cheap to me as they've tried to go too minimalist and futuristic (and I'm the sort of person who loves gadgets). Everything that irritated me on the VW was not an issue at all on the Skoda - even the infotainment system in the Skoda is better. The worst thing about the Skoda was the optional extras arrangement that they had in place, but they've even sorted that out. I went to order an Enyaq 80x and was given a copy of the 2023 price list - on that, a whole heap of features have been made standard that were extras before (such as 135kw charging, motor driven boot hatch, matrix headlights). You basically have 3 extra packages to choose from (Max, Ultra & baggage). There's a few things which are separate outside of that such as the retractable tow bar and the sun roof, but there's not much else. Not sure if they're doing this worldwide (I live in Norway), but I was impressed with the changes.
Curious if id4/Enyaq MEB platform would ever get full single pedal driving, as it is now it doesn’t come to a complete stop. Do you know if it is a mechanical restriction or something that could come as an over the air update?
Skoda seem to have a knack of coming up with those little touches you never saw on other cars before, such as hooks in the boot for carrier bags, the little lidded cubbies under the front seats, the little plastic clip on the driver's side windscreen piilar for holding a parking ticket etc, the boot light which can be removed and used as a torch. All clever little ideas. I've owned 4 Skodas, and been happy with them all. It doesn't surprise me one bit that Skoda always do consistantly well in owner satisfaction surveys.
Would like a iv80, but can't get one. My skoda dealer today me today, its at least 6-8 months waiting time. We do on average 300km/week with the odd long weekend trip. Would the iv60 suffice???
I'm still not sure whether I like that SKODA make everything an optional add on... For example I still can't find the HUD in the options. When you spec it up to KIA EV6 level, its seems a little more expensive than the KIA. To be fair they are both lovely cars, although mucho €€€€€€
You get car to stop and charge it in your way for holiday trip !!!! Why they don’t highlight this issue ??? I need car that takes me ent where I won’t with out getting worried about charging or leave it . Viva old diesel 🚗
I’d like to look at a more normal version to make a final call because you can be blinkered by a high spec version. I think the centre console in this is nicer!
@@NobbyOnCars Bias, but I agree. The fake grill looks a bit weird and dated on the Enyaq, and the rear is forgetable. Enyaq can have a nicer interior, but you've to pay for it. Standard it's all cloth, amongst other basic specs on the standard version (60 or 80). What Skoda have given you over the ID.4 is customisability.

You won’t get a full charge on a slower charger in a typical 8 hour workday either, another thing to factor but if you can get near a 50kW charger you’ll deffo be ok. 8 hours on slower charge will be roughly 240kms of range I think (very off the top of my head maths here)!
Good man Nobby, cheers for that 😁... Both cars look class
Beautiful
if you were to spec it out similar to an ID4 tech trim the skoda comes in a little bit more expensive but the kicker will be anything over the 60k mark and you don't get the grant or the full grant anyway i think.
the 2.5k grant isn't included when you go too high with the price.
I Like 👍 IT SKODA IS DONE ✅ IT. BMW IX3 EV. BUT I WOULD GO FOR
THE SKODA IO EV. LOVE ❤️ IT. WELL VIEW. UK🇬🇧
Simply clever!
Excellent review Nobby👍 would you pick it over the id4 ?
I’d love to see a more basic version of it but I think it has the edge a little.
Great review 👍
Thanks! 👍
They do compared to a 330i anyway! Enyaq has a fair bit more space over Model 3 but if tech and gadgets are your thing, Tesla do that well.
Thanks. I’d really like a good driver’s car that’s why I first thought of the BMW 3. However suddenly EVs seem to be viable. I just hated the Nissan Leaf I tried a few years ago
The Model 3 seems hard to beat, if sufficient boot space.
It is a pity that it is not indicated that the headrests do not go higher. You shouldn't be taller than "Nobby" if you want to sit safely in the rear.
That’s simply bizarre. Have an Enyaq again at the moment and it was the first thing I checked.
Great review Nobby 🙌🏻 Do you reckon you could fit 3 child seats across the back??
Perhaps if one was only a booster. Large ones, not without one or the spurious benches that can be bought.
Just sell the children and buy an Enyaq Simon.......
Curious if id4/Enyaq MEB platform would ever get full single pedal driving, as it is now it doesn’t come to a complete stop. Do you know if it is a mechanical restriction or something that could come as an over the air update?
I have one on order 80kw. I am unsure about charging as I didn’t get up graded Charging or fuel pump
Heat pump I wouldn’t be too worried about with that range anyway
Great review you have convinced me to go skoda rather than volkswagen better more practical car all-round.
Work out how often you really would use the extra 100-150kms and make a decision on that.
I'm still not sure whether I like that SKODA make everything an optional add on... For example I still can't find the HUD in the options. When you spec it up to KIA EV6 level, its seems a little more expensive than the KIA. To be fair they are both lovely cars, although mucho €€€€€€
I’m very interested in the EV6 alright, it looks goooooood.
What trim level is the car reviewed?
Can ya tell me the colour of that car please
Which color is this? Quartz grey?
Quartz grey 👍🏻
Spot on review thanks👍 do you like it better than the Audi etron?
The Audi is a bit of a step up in comparison but you're going to pay for that at the same time.
did you ever test the VW passat gte ???
Was cancelled on me due to a lockdown. Have the Arteon PHEV soon
You get car to stop and charge it in your way for holiday trip !!!!
Why they don’t highlight this issue ???
I need car that takes me ent where I won’t with out getting worried about charging or leave it .
Viva old diesel 🚗
don't buy an EV so :)
what would you pick ID4 or Enyaq?
I’d like to look at a more normal version to make a final call because you can be blinkered by a high spec version. I think the centre console in this is nicer!
@@NobbyOnCars yeah i presume so , just checked out the builder and you are up at 55k very quick adding the extras.
But it looks like an ICE, and is the id4 chassis, so you must mean the interior?
ah sure only 50 mins to find out! :)
@@NobbyOnCars aye, and thanks to you I’m about to buy an id4, but in 45mins you’ll tell me I’m an idiot. Lol
@@DaraM73 not at all. The ID.4 is the better looking car on the outside I think. Probably. ☺️
"This much legroom. This much headroom" Whoa, don't flood us with so much specifics and details. But seriously, this is useless unless you say how tall you are.
Are you visually impaired? Cause that's the only way your comment is justified.
I'll watch your videos no matter what XD
But if you want more views, go for cars that will soon launch/ are already launched in India or any other country where you are famous!
11:25 rather Wh/km.
kWh/km
Yak
Jesus Nobby. Them wheels. Irish pricing of the wall, Euros 1452 . Uk price for wheels, 590 sterlings. Now that's about 695 euro. Now 2 times 695=1390 euro. Skoda Irish price 1452 euro. Come on this is a shambolic rip off.
Combo of VRT and Irish prices unfortunately.
@@NobbyOnCars
God we are getting hammered here. Will you be getting ionic 5 when it gets here. That looks great.
Don’t get me wrong I love electric cars , but wat can get me out of an A6 Quattro that can be filled in under a minute can go all over the country in any condition s
you're asking a lot in such a good cruiser !
@@NobbyOnCars so what can I do , I want to be done with diesel , what are my options
Ioniq5 or EV6 with 800 v charging .. and of course you leave home ‘full’ everyday anyway
Oh and next time you fill the AUDI actually time how long it is from entering the forecourt to leaving.. it’s more than a minute IMPO
@@pcr8918 right first things first no one in there right mind would go from an Audi to a Hyundai or a Kia
Can he do e-padel?
No not one pedal
@@NobbyOnCars So the best EV feature an EV car can have… it doesn’t!!!???
Like any other car brand does except VW group. Wow… that is smart.
And you “pseudo-journalists” don’t comment this!!!??? Wow…!!!!
@@ricardograde5134 it’s covered in regen braking. The fact that you personally think it’s the best feature is subjective, others hate it. It’s a feature of the Leaf and a handful of other EVs. If you don’t like my video, go watch someone else’s channel. 👍🏻
@@NobbyOnCars you do know, that every single other brand, beside VW has this feature? Right?
Yes, you did make a dad review about the car… sorry! Will follow your advise. 👍
@@ricardograde5134 they don’t.
50.000 eura hahaha
Cant believe minibuses are a thing again…🤮
expensive car folks!
It's just sooooooo ugly. :(
Omg. Stupid headline. So grammatically wrong.
OMG
useless vehicle !! you must have 1-2 normal cars with electric car which are only for occasional shopping in city if you have extra money to buy some electric junk first!!
Ok.....
Utter garbage! You may feel it's useless, but not everybody's expectations and requirements are the same as yours. I've happily driven on 500 mile journeys in my Kia, stopping once after 240 miles to charge for 45 minutes. If you feel they are junk, don't bother watching the reviews. If electric cars are junk, why do you suppose sales of new fully electric cars increased by 164% in Britain in 2019? I've noticed your posts in other EV threads, and the posts are almost identical in them all. Are you simply cutting and pasting the same post everywhere to save time? Such strong opinions on something you have zero experience of. Difficult to take that seriously as it carries no validity......
