Well to be fair indeed not like this. Although I have not seen this season through and wasn’t the biggest Cara Melle fan anyway I can’t speak on her. Previous seasons it was frustrating to see the Black queens imo unrightfully ending up in the bottom so often. Also they should definitely cast more POC (inlucding non-black) queens for the UK in the first place. It doesn’t help that besides Ru all the main judges are white.
@@lashaaawn very true. Just looking at the data, only 4% of people in the UK are Black, so the number of people who are both Black, do drag, and actually want to participate in the show COULD be pretty small. Also, they probably have a standard that the queen has to meet talent wise (for all participants). I’m not saying there are no options, but maybe it’s tough on the recruiting side and they have a show to put on regardless of how many applicants they get.
Y'all just love Cara, which is fine, i do too. But i don't allow that cloud my judgement. Her and DeDe were the least funny during this COMEDY challenge, which they've both shown they really don't know how to deliver in the challenges that aren't dancing/performance based when they need to
Cara is a beautiful and fierce queen but too insecure to really let go and be funny. Maybe it takes a couple more years in her journey for her to become the alrounder she needs to be for a competition like drag race.
Definitely the wrong 2 in the bottom. They should have received the same amount of direction and takes. The worse prepared team getting lots of help and takes wasn't fair. It may have been an amusing VT, but for the wrong reasons.
Be for real.... her and DeDe were the least funny. End of story. The final product is what matters (unless they show unprofessionalism), the judges never care about the process. Remember when Sasha was struggling with lines but delivered a great product and no one batted an eye??
The judges cared about the process when Bimini won the acting challenge over Lawrence because of Lawrence messing up during rehearsal, even though Lawrence had a better end result. They can care about the takes when it suits them@@melchizedekabraham8419
I always find it amusing when queens get somewhat pressed by things said in confessionals…like they haven’t also said things during their own confessions.
The producer misdirect got me and my friend. Gobsmacked that it was Michael v Cara. At the end of the day, I absolutely adore this cast and look forward to rest of the show + after. Much love to Cara!
Banksie shouldn't have apologised first she was right in the situation and the fact that the other two apologised only bc of Banksie did it first sounds wrong
@@prboi1985 Because Banksie has already moved on, but Cara should apologize everyday because she is black and came for the precious white baby that is Banksie
Cara lacked the versatility to go all the way. She is gorgeous and a great dancer, but DR UK is also about comedy, acting, reading and improv. I also think she suffered because of her inability to relax and make fun of herself in the competition, which was a stark contrast to the other queens (except perhaps DeDe, who should have been in the bottom with Cara this episode).
I agree with this for the most part, the thing I don’t like and I’ve noticed it particularly since UK Season 3 - Queens that excel at performance/dance challenges are treated like their somehow “less than” Queens who’s strengths are comedy/improv - when irl if you went to see Black Peppa or Cara at a brunch you wouldn’t be thinking “okay but where are the jokes?” - you’d be living for them as they’d be in their element, probably slaying the stage. I just think the value production, and by extension the viewers put on performance vs comedy is slightly skewed.
This competition calls for some versatility though, and many of the more comedic queens who have gone to the top 4 have been able to be good, although not always great, in dance and design challenges as well. Many comedy queens have been eliminated because they could not dance and sew as well. So I don't really agree with you here, as my experience of the fandom is different: they often excuse gorgeous fashion queens who can dance when they fail in comedy and acting, but are very harsh toward comedy and acting queens if they don't do as good on the runway. Everyone has their speciality, but RPDR calls for you to step outside of that and deliver in things that are not your thing as well. @@midnitehour1
@@midnitehour1I get where you coming from but there are just more types of comedy challenges they can do (snatch game, stand up, acting, improv, advert…) but in terms of dancing and performing they can do like Girl groups, Talent show, Rusical but you can use comedy in those, meanwhile you cant use your dancing skills in comedy challenges at all. So it makes sense comedy queens do better in drag race.
@@pea5062 people dump on her because of her runways - but she’s still considered a “good” Drag Queen. I also think Kate constantly calling herself “ugly” - which isn’t true at all doesn’t help lol.

Cara is absolutely gorgeous, minus this questionable choice of a wig, however, she definitely should have been in the bottom, but I would have put DeDe with her. Cara just never lived up to her potential, unfortunately, but she has star quality and I could see her being an entertaining performer. Not everyone is going to excel on a show like Drag Race, but that doesn’t mean they are bad drag artists. I think she’ll go far if she manages to take advantage of the spotlight this has given her.
This is one of the few drag race eliminations that made me literally jump up and down screaming with Joy. Her attitude was ruining the season for me. From the gate I didn’t like her. The first thing she wanted you to know about her was that she’s better than you. Super cringe. I’m so happy I can enjoy the rest of the season now. 😊
Add toxic to that list, imagine being so salty that you don’t show up for your “friends” deplorable attitude that outshined any talent that she could have possible had. smh
Filmed in South Africa but takes place in the US!! I can't imagine how that was cheaper or easier than filming in the US! But what a slay being in a movie w US drag icons.
i agree she is a funny person and i am here for it... made me laugh the most, and dede is quite funny as well. Ginger is bitter and not that great, Kate is meh - show me more girl. Tamara is hilarious!
Kate is "meh" Ginger is "bitter" ???. How is Ginger bitter? And how is Kate meh? Their track records says another wise Instead of putting other queens down. Be a little bit of an adult. Be respectful
I get you. Lots of favoritism on RPDR for shade and hamming it up, even if it’s over the top or unnecessary. Ginger’s shade often had a sting to it and didn’t seem to be coming from a good place. That’s in total contrast to Tamara.
Let’s be honest going home on a challenge where everyone deserved to stay , is a good way to go
I love Ella. Such a beauty and I still think she should have won her season.
this is one of the strongest casts we've seen in a while. Cara and Banksie could've gone all the way but the competition is tough!
