One of my early baseball memories. I had a 1981 Chet Lemon Topps baseball card. He then had and still has just about the coolest first/last name combo. I also like the names Don Cherry, Darryl Strawberry, and Bob Lemon.
My absolute favorite player in the 80's !! I was also a Centerfielder and Rightfielder. God Bless you Chet for setting a tremendous example for me as to how your supposed to play !
God Bless Chet and his loving family! 🙏 for Chet and would be so awesome if he was here Saturday. I’m 42 and my memories of Tigers baseball is at tail end of his career, time here, however I know what a great player he was, good gloves, All-Star Games, a key part of 1984, the trade for my last names sake Steve Kemp from White Sox in 1982.
Mr. Chet Lemon was absolutely my favorite player from the Detroit Tigers 1984 World Series championship team! He was a dynamic center fielder and also came through with clutch hits time and time again. Wishing you the best #34!! God Bless You, Chester Earl!
Watching this team at age 6 i knew all of the players and lemon was 1 of my favorites. He was such a great player on the tigers and even better to watch in person. I remember having upper deck tickets next to first base and being blocked by the upper level next to us so we couldnt the outfield that great. What a bummer bc i wanted to see him. That team made my childhood and he was apart of it. Mr. Lemon we are still cheering for you and your beautiful family.
Chet us my all time favorite Tiger I used to sit in centerfield behind him as a kid and he'd always come over and talk to us. He's one of the best people I've ever met. God loves you Chester Lemon 🍋 🙏 ❤️ 🙌 💛
I’ll always remember Chet “the Jet” as the lightning fast centerfielder who played his ass off and gave 100% effort. The first time I ever saw someone slide headfirst into first base trying to beat out a throw, it was him. He was a true ball player and always had a smile on his face. I tried to model my play in little league after him but unfortunately I wasn’t as talented or athletic. One of my childhood favorite players. Father Time can go to hell.
Wow. Time doesn’t discriminate. Chet was an awesome CF on that legendary Tigers team. Jack Harris, Allan Trammel, sweet Lou, Sparky Anderson, Robert Parish were a few names that I remember.
Father God thank you for Chet Lemon. Thank you for the memories he gave us in Detroit. Father bless Chet, restore him with your healing touch or with a word! Thank you Father in Jesus name
Chet 🍋 will always be my centerfielder. God bless Chester and his family.
