You cannot use the first class lounge with a first class pass in most countries. (Vienna and Budapest excepted). Many trains have only a few first class seats or none at all. Never ever travel first class in Europe.
Leg space really depends on the country. Especially in not-high-speed trains the first class often make a big difference. In Regional trains is it better in almost every train, in long distance trains, I mean non-automotive stock. (I don't mean the highest train product, like in Germany the ICE. I mean the German IC train for example. Which is made of real carriages which you can easily take apart and put another one there, not like the ICE which always has the same carriages.)
Im traveling to rome this year and have booked first class train travel. First class offers a 3 seat wide configuration, and i like to sit alone. Also seats must be wider because in 2nd class, its a 4 seat wide configuration.
Thank you for the video. What you say about seats is true but seats aren't the only thing to evaluate, it would be good to complete the report with the food you are served, the noise, wifi, etc.
I have used the Eurail pass a lot back in the 80s. One of the appeal was that you could just hop on any train without having to make reservations unless you wanted a bed. Now that seems to be different. Also price wise it's not clear that the pass is necessarily cheaper than individual discount tickets.
I think it's highly dependent on where you're going and how many of the trains are likely to have first class. A 15 day over 2 months pass the difference between 2nd class and 1st class is about 250EUR. My perspective with UK, just travelling from UK on Eurostar the 1st class pass bumps up to standard premier which is regularly 100EUR more than standard... it's a nice treat as a one-off. But yes, if you're on a budget there's not a major difference. Doesn't apply so much to me as it's my home country but the UK's first class couches offer ALOT more... they regularly include unlimited food and drink, often a hot meal. So if you're just going round the UK (or even will just come here for quite a small part of your journey) its worth it.
Now the difference is 111 euros. (444 euros vs 333 euros). I think it's a good value for money, since sometimes on normal tickets, prices can double from second to first class.
I’m 6’ 4” (1.93 meters). Do you think It would be better for me to go for first class. The difference it’s an extra 70 euros between class, and would like to save some $ if possible.
I have a question regarding eurail im planning to buy 5 days in a month.. it says a day consist of 24 hour yea.. what if i travel one trip in the a.m. and continue travelling on the same before midnight.. it is allowed?? i cant find answers anywhere..
I see what you mean, yes that’s correct so each 24 hours from midnight you have 24 hours to travel unlimited so if you complete 3 trips in that 24 hours then it just counts as one day, and you would have 4 days left, so I would suggest using it in Western Europe and also Northern Europe as well as Switzerland. That’s the best value. Hope that answers ur question

Some of them charge a reservation fee so basically trying to get abit more money from u, u can do it at the train station u getting the train or some of them online but it was annoying to do it online so at the station and in most cases u can just show up, except maybe London to Paris
@@samh6814 I agree . But for me this Eurail global pass is more worth it if u decide to focus on Central Europe like Czech Republic , Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and maybe Slovenia, even Switzerland ( which is part of balkans ) like that , cause there is no seat reservation required as check in the euro rail app . Unexpectedly Italy and Poland need seat reservation .
Nope, only difference is the seat size, slightly bigger and leather instead of fabric, and less number of seats which can be bad if u didn’t reserve a seat
@@RealBlackBox so if I got a euro rail unlimited pass for a month, do I still have to make reservations or I can just hop on any train? What if no seats are available? Does this even happens?
Samar's Gadgets World there is a Eurail app which you should download and it will show you which trains u need to reserve for, mostly the bullet trains or the fast trains as well as night trains are the ones you have to reserve but the app shows u that, definitely there r seats available, even when they say it’s full just show up and go for it specially now,
Man just casually takes his camera goes in sits in almost 3 seats and then talks 🐸👍🏼
Respect, right?
Exactly the video I was looking for, short and sweet, and very helpful, thanks!
I’m looking at booking online right now and wanted to see if the price was worth it. Thank you so much!

with me about the not that much difference between first and second class. 😎👌
I was hoping that buying reservations won't be necessary if you travel first class. So that's not the case?

the difference between the passes is only the seat? Does the first class pass not include food or VIP waiting room?
Yes 🙌🏻 , this was just the train 😂
Awesome video man, thanks!
Great explanation on the differences sir
this helps me a lot, much appreciated (and subscribed to) ! :)
Very helpful! Thanks!
