OMG I love Lotor so much 😍 I know he did some really really bad stuff but I don't think that he was a straight-up villain. When you look at it his intentions were never malicious and all he did he did (as he believed) for the greater good. He wanted to be a good person and to be seen as such but because of his abusive, toxic upbringing and lack of a good role model in his later life his sense of morality became corrupted and twisted and he ended up becoming just like his father. When Allura said it to his face, that he was more like his father than she had imagined Lotor snapped. In that moment he realised that despite all his efforts he became a second Zarkon, the person who abused him, who he hated and who he didn't want to end up like. It's almost like he was destined to become a monster and if he couldn't excape from it he could as well go full rampage and erase everybody who have ever wronged him. It makes him such a tragic character. I will never EVER forgive the Paladins for leaving him on that quintesence field. Despite everything he did I don't believe he deserved such a horrible death. And I can't shake the feeling that he was killed off because the writers simply wanted to toss him aside to be ale to move on with the plot #LotorDeservedBetter
She should have forgaven him at this point. It would have changed his direction in the story. I also believe that Lotor was stuck between two choices. Either watch "his people" die or emply what ever method needed in order to save a large number of them.
