You can tell how much more of a dedicated sports car this was compared to the T-bird, which was really just a grand tourer with the soul of a Galaxie. The small block Chevy was such a revelation compared to the big, heavy, breathless lumps that were most other V8s of this era. It sounds great man, I hope I can afford to drive one of these someday before they become unobtanium.
Sadly 5k views is a LOT for one of our videos! We produce them to accompany our auction listings on bringatrailer.com, so aside from that, they don't get much love. Feel free to share! We have new videos dropping almost every week. A start up & walk around video, and a driving video of every car we represent for sale!
Never found myself drawn to these cars in the past, but lately knowing I'll be driving an EV someday these start to have much more appeal.... These old american cars are the complete opposite to EVs: Loud, smelly, impractical, but so full of soul, and timeless beautiful design. Truly see myself getting one of these as a second car someday
Sadly nobody will be allowed to drive combustion cars from 2030 on! In EU they are just removing gas stations so from 2027 there will be only 1 gas station per city or even county!
@@Schlipperschlopper They always set goals like that then quietly roll them back. I don't think we will see the banning of ICE cars, it will get delayed indefinitely. The banning of the sale of new ICE cars sure, but not older ICE cars.
Agreed--we were able to find a 62 four hours away. I have a feeling she sat for quite some time, as she needed about 5k of work, but boy she's a blast to drive.
You still have the original 3 speed, which rear end?? My ‘57 has a 4 speed but I had to change out the original 4.11 differential for a 3.36. It’s a bit tall in first gear but much nicer on the freeway.
Not sure, as this video is 3 years old now and the car is long-gone, but you can check out the original listing here to find out everything we knew about this car: fantasyjunction.com/sold/1956-chevrolet-corvette/overview

Sounds just like my 62, including all the rattles, lol!
Only 5k views this is a shame... a masterpiece, this is art.
