your statement is only half correct. He wasn't at the party. He WAS across the street, in the woods(even creepier), getting a BJ from the same underage girl. he admitted to this, so definitely not cleared of all wrongdoing.

Oh! The bad decisions of a new head coach promoting his new team, and ignoring the real talent in his seniors. 😎

Rutgers’ Adam Korsak should have won the Ray Guy that year. Adam had better statistics in EVERY major category that goes into making that decision.
The Ray Guy Award voting panel was apparently seduced by the long ball.
Rutgers standout Adam Korsak was denied school history Thursday night when San Diego State’s Matt Araiza won the honor, given annually to the nation’s top punter, during ESPN’s college football awards show.
Korsak was bidding to become the first Scarlet Knight in program history to win a major national on-field individual award. But Araiza, who has become a viral sensation due to his booming kicks and “Punt God” nickname, got the nod over Korsak and fellow finalist Jordan Stout of Penn State.
And to be frank, Korsak and Rutgers have several reasons to believe the Australian star got hosed.
According to criteria outlined by the Augusta Sports Council, which created and manages the award named for the late Guy, a College Football and Pro Football Hall of Famer, “particular emphasis is placed on the following statistics: net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line and percentage of punts not returned.”
Korsak’s 45.34 net average this season currently stands as a new NCAA single-season team record, and he had superior percentages of kicks downed inside the 20 and kicks returned compared to Araiza and Stout. Korsak also went the entire year without a touchback (and hasn’t had one since 2019) while Araiza had 14 touchbacks in the regular season and had a punt to be returned for a touchdown after out-kicking his coverage.
But in the end, Araiza’s booming kicks and 51.4 average per kick -- on pace to be a new NCAA record -- overpowered the criteria.
Korsak, who already owns all the Rutgers career punting records, will return for his final year of eligibility in 2022.
Korsak ended up winning in the 2022 season BUT should have definitely won it in 2021. Nothing again Matt personally and just a total hose job for Adam by the committee when looking at what was supposed to matter in 2021.

I was a punter throughout high school and no one was able to tell me why the rule was set like it is. My kicking coach, who ended up coaching 5 teams in the NFL with two Super Bowl rings, had no idea why. The only thing I could figure out was the field goal has a set spot the kicker has to kick at. A punter moves from any given point after the snap and there is no set point to mark. Therefore, the set line of scrimmage is the point of reference. Guess it made it easier for the statisticians back in the day to spot the point where to start the yardage.

I need y'all to understand something about sexual assault cases. They almost NEVER go to trial, and even fewer result in a conviction. In order to convict someone, a prosecutor has to prove that there was a lack of consent. It's asking them to prove a negative, and it's almost impossible to do without absolutely overwhelming evidence. If charges are dropped in a sexual assault case, DO NOT automatically assume that the person is innocent. All it means is that the prosecutor felt there wasn't enough evidence to guarantee a conviction. That's why so many sexual assault cases end up in civil court instead of criminal court, the victim is much more likely to get monetary compensation than they are to get a conviction.
The fact that there was a lengthy legal investigation into him in first place means that there is absolutely evidence that he was involved.

      @gabe9125 Год назад

@@NekoMMDGTS no, innocent until proven guilty means that THE LAW assumes he is innocent until proven guilty. An NFL team, or the NFL itself, can also do the same thing, with substantially more resources to conduct their own investigation.

But more importantly ... the original punt god? Original? What? Do you mean the original 2021 punt god? Can someone get the narrator a google search please?
Who was that award named after? Oh yeah, Ray Guy. Let's take a walk through his wiki page. "Guy was elected to both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014." He was inducted into the Hall of Fame on August 2, 2014, becoming "the first pure punter to be so honored." He still is the only punter as far as I know in the HoF.
An eight-time All-Pro, "Guy is widely considered to be the greatest punter of all-time."
He "was the first pure punter ever to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft", in 1973 by the Oakland Raiders.
After his senior season at University of Southern Mississippi, Guy was named "most valuable player of the 1972 [held in 1973] Chicago College All-Star Game, in which an all-star team of college seniors played the current Super Bowl champion." That would have been against the undefeated Miami Dolphins. In a game between the Super Bowl champs and College All-Stars. MVP.
His senior year at Ol' Miss he was named "first-team All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America." Over his college career his punt average was 44.7 yards per punt and as a pro he averaged 42.4 yards per punt.
    Other highlights:
    Played in 207 consecutive games
Punted 1,049 times for 44,493 yards, averaging 42.4 yards per punt, with a 33.8 net yards average
Had 210 punts inside the 20-yard line (not counting his first 3 seasons, when the NFL did not keep track of this stat), with just 128 touchbacks
Led the NFL in gross yards per punt three times
Had a streak of 619 consecutive punts before having one blocked
Has a record of 111 career punts in postseason games
3× Super Bowl champion (XI, XV, XVIII)
    6× First-team All-Pro (1973-1978)
    2× Second-team All-Pro (1979, 1980)
    7× Pro Bowl (1973-1978, 1980)
    Golden Toe Award (1975)
    NFL 1970s All-Decade Team
    NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team
    NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team
    First-team All-American (1972)
Southern Miss Golden Eagles No. 44 retired
'o but Araiza's average was so much farther!!! 💛 💛 💛 😘 😘 😘' Great. Anyone ever hear of over kicking your cocerage? Or hang time? Yeah, thought so. By kicking too far down field you allow the returner to catch the ball and start to run without any of your teammates close enough to tackle him. At best you lose the extra yards from the kick and the opponent starts from where he would with an average kick. At worst the return team can set up s return leading to better field position or even a score.
Hang time is how long the ball is in the air from the kick, before it is caught or it bounces. Nobody cared about it before Guy came along. After him, it became more important than distance. He changed the game. Oh, and fun anecdote: "After a 1977 game against Houston, Oilers coach Bum Phillips accused Guy of using footballs illegally inflated with helium. Houston returner Billy 'White Shoes' Johnson stated that he had "never seen anyone hang kickoffs like Guy did", and that the ball was "hanging up there too long"."
Oh, I get it. Somebody stuck Araiza with the dumbass nickname, and then somebody else came along with the same nickname, so Araiza is the 'original' one. But for some reason, nobody thinks that maybe the game has been played for more than 5 or 10 years, or everybody sucked before 10 years ago. No team in the NFL today could handle the Raiders under rules that the Raiders played. To dismiss people from previous eras just mindlessly is an insult not only to past stars, but current ones too.
"The minus 9 yard line." The "original punt god." Amateurish.

I completely get why he got so much media attention for his kicks, but especially coming from this channel that covers punting it's pretty egregious to not point out the fact that there's a reason he wasn't even drafted as the first punter. Plenty of guys can kick as far as him, the hang time is far more important and is what he sacrificed by kicking the way he did.
If opposing teams were actually good they'd have their punt returners better prepared for this and not waste time getting to the ball like in this game. They'd be getting the ball in their hands with no one within 20 yards every punt if they were coached correctly.
