Let me explain, I believe they both have narcissistic tendencies and that makes it difficult for the partners to compromise and communicate. Ben is an alcoholic and that (even if he is sober now) can be an extra level of difficulty in a marriage. Ben appears not to want to live his life on social media like JLo does so that may be an area of conflict. Then you add to the mix an attempt to create a blended family with 5 kids, all of them teenagers, and that has to be a struggle. Perhaps JLo is materialistic but I’m sure Ben likes the perks money can buy too. Yes this union was doomed because neither partner wanted to do the extremely hard work and sacrifice it takes to make a marriage function in a healthy way.
