And if you put your sentimental bias for a certain reason aside you will know that was an above average performance by him. Any actor could pull that kinda performance. Nothing special at all.

The realistic/gritty Joker (known from Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix) who doesn't have a chemical infection, would've made a lot more sense as a canon Batman Beyond villain who replaces the original Joker from Bruce Wayne's timeline.
