Bentonite is much cheaper in bulk. Order it by the truck load or dump truck loads. It requires an even layer. My neighbor had to do his pond, but he also put down a plastic liner of visqueen. He now as a beautiful 2-3 acrea bass pond with crystal clear water, too... Another option is hauling in a clay base and packing in down with a packer. Watch bama bassin, on RUclips, pond build in a sandy field. 🍺🎣
If you have a buddy that has goats or cattle spread hay all inside the pond and let them naturally tamp it down by feeding all over. Once you get everything tamped down it should seal much better. I'm saying this before I watch the video all the way through. You can also get bentonite from a local oilfield supply company because they use it in making "mud" for the drilling process.
I just wonder what would happen if you had a compactor foot device, or a heavy roller and packed that stuff down like you were mowing the lawn or packing gravel.?
There is a difference in cat litters. This one looks like a mix. The clay litter i have used it not this fine, and it looks like clay its a different type of clay.
You need to realize that bentonite to seal a pond. Can take upwards of three weeks to just seal a leak in a pond Not only that while trying to seal a pond you are going to have evaporation so you will also notice the water level going down from that . Living in Texas majority of everything's clay anyways you should of had a sheepshead come in and pack the pond and I don't think you would of needed hardly any bentonite.

Did it fix it?

Nice work bro. Why don't use a seed spreader.
learn something new every day, cat litter is just clay! I can see why the ideal method is sealing it with another layer of soil.

Come fishing in northern Canada - Tobin lake in northern Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦 amazing 🎣 fishing!,,,,,,!
You should have tested it in a bucket mixed with soil. If it seals the leaky bucket you have it cracked.
I'm guessing you don't have a cat. 😅
Thought you were selling the boat. Saw it on marketplace!
