My brother and I are putting a SBC 383 in his 97 S-10 Tuesdays. 455HP 455TQ, 700R4, QA1 suspension and a 3link, 305/40/R17! Thing will be a monster! May go blow through carb and a procharger after it's all done and lined out. He wants 500+ to the ground! Gonna be a blast!🤘
No replacement for deplacement! Had a Chevy Astro and put a nice built 350 in it and had some of the best years of my life in that thing. The looks I used to get just from the sound of the cammed 350 put smiles on my face. Used to never listen to the radio. Every Friday I'd put race gas in it just to make it smell good through the weekend even though it only had 10.1 compression. Love builds like this. Had my teach in the same spot lol. I had to put a 4 speed in it though cuz I drove it everyday. I was in my early 20s so I didn't care if I got only like 10 miles to the gallon.
Even through a stalled auto I'm sure that makes more than 480rwhp. The stroker 383 in my 89 formula firebird makes more than 400rwhp through a T56 (converted from auto to manual). The stroker killed a reverse manual valve body th350 with a 3200rpm stall. My engine build is a little milder than his with 200cc dart heads.

Also had an 85 long bed with a 400SB.... and an 88 s10 blazer with a 350SB...now drive a 09 Colorado sport 3LT ext cab zq8 with the 5.3L...

I want to overbuild a 293 (4.8) and turbocharge it with 67/66mm turbo/turbo's. Then throw it in a 98 S10 extended cab. I've always wanted a supertruck with the best built small displacement engine possible.

I too love my 400+ small block. But dont build the old gm blocks. Way better off in long run to get a dart shp. Stronger block blind holes and improved oiling not to mention they are roller blocks and splayed main caps. Worth every penny
Alright listen I need y’all help. I bought a beautiful 1987 s15 basically an a10 that has a 2.8tbi v6 with the 4spd manual and wanna swap a 350 in it. What all would I have to do. I mean everything from transmission to motor. I would greatly appreciate it only ever swapped v8 to a bigger v8 haha
Yes I narrowed the drivers side 3 inch's and used another axle from the passengers side. It's still wider than the stock rear , but if you run the right backspace wheels it will work. I run a 15x10 with 6.5 backspace.
That booger's a good runnin truck. Well... for a Chevy. When your dad stomped on it, it sounded like it had a momentary stumble. Might need to go to a bigger accelerator pump, maybe?
Sixgun Sled did he ever swap the heads? What helped us was water meth and e85 from there on hope to see more of the s10 it's every truck guys starter truck lol
Loving this! My first build was a 93 s10 350 but someone crashed into me. Fast forward a year later and I bought an 89 s10 blazer with red interior and Georgia bulldog paint (I love this thing) I swapped my suspension and engine over and it’s been 3 months and I can’t keep it running! It will idle great and I put in drive and give it gas and it will move; moves in reverse as well until about a minute and if I try to put it in drive again and move it will bog and die. I’ve rebuilt the carb(quickfuel 580 vs) abs my Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator last night. I will see what happens today. I had this same setup on my pickup and had no problem when I drove it for months. Anybody got an idea of what it is , I use 83 pump gas as well on 10066036 block(stock 72cc heads)(eldelbrock intake)?!?!?

The engine sits really far back in the camaro. The weight distribution makes all the difference. Throw on a set of m/t's and forget it lol.

Did you have to narrow the 8.8 any? To fit. looks nice man nice build

Switch to electronic steering or go back gotta get that power steering out with the pump to much power to pull away from the engine running that
