Purdue University Global’s May 2022 Commencement Highlights

Purdue University Global graduates from around the world participated in commencement on May 21, 2022. Over 1,600 graduates were recognized at the ceremony, with over half of them attending in person at the Murat Theatre at the Old National Centre in Indianapolis, IN.
Throughout the ceremony, Chancellor Frank Dooley highlighted graduates with high honors, graduate-level degrees, and military service. Graduates were also invited to submit videos to be showcased in the virtual hooding and ceremonial tassel turning. After listening to a commencement address from 2021 Purdue Global alum Derrick Howell-McQueen, graduates celebrated their achievement as their names and degrees were announced while their photos and hometowns were displayed on screen. Before the ceremony, graduates enjoyed a week of interactive virtual activities, including a photo booth, shout out board, and the Last Lecture presented by a professor, Wanda Person, Ed.D., from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, who was nominated by the graduating class.
