Folks we got @ian_eastwood in the pod today! Ian has probably touched every avenue that dance has to offer. His choreography can be seen from the likes of @chancetherapper, @childishgambino, @justinbieber, @kriswu, @torikelly and the list goes on and on. Beside being a world renown choreographer and teacher, Ian is a straight up to the core dance community head. We went from the beginnings of where it all started with dance as a kid growing up in Chicago, to making the decision to come out to LA to pursue his career fully. Like anyone pursuing an art form as a career, Ian struggled with finding the balance between taking jobs to sustain his livelihood, to actually knowing his voice and steering his artistic integrity for this art form that he loves so much. His emphasis on knowing your roots and going back to the basics in order to find the push that you need to keep striving towards your future is so on point. This is a story for anyone who has ever loved something so much that you would stop at nothing to make it happen. Another really fun and super inspiring chat. Enjoy the gold nuggets! I used to dance. I was a bboy to be specific. I've become a fashion head in my young adult life. But this Podcast right here though cousin! Real talk, real lessons, and real inspiration. Good to see my guy Ian is still killin it.

Ian is a legend.... I know this is going to sound weird... but I would love to see Ian choreograph for a talented dancer in the Kpop industry... That would be awesome to see... I know that he won't probably do it bc its to mainstream and pop and Superficial for him... But I would love to see a kpop dancer show a choreography of his, a choreo with a great narrative/story. EG I loved the singularity choreography Keone Madrid did for V (Taehyung) from BTS

And btw I am from a small city in Europe, thus its pretty similar to the situation Ian described... The internet is so crappy here, that I have to go to an internet cafe in the next city to have internet to download a couple of dance videos.. we dance on crappy carpet and have crappy music boxes... no one in my school has an interest in dancing....
And we don't have a really open industry over here like it is in the US... just bc you had a popular dance video doesn't mean you'll get a dance job here.
