His songs are the ones that I think of as "original" All the other versions seem... wrong. Thank you for posting this. I love this song in particular : )
Lyrics for sing along reasons: I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew: Of wind I sang, a wind there came and in the branches blew. Beyond the Sun, beyond the Moon, the foam was on the Sea, And by the strand of Ilmarin there grew a golden Tree. Beneath the stars of Ever-eve in Eldamar it shone, In Eldamar beside the walls of Elven Tirion. There long the golden leaves have grown upon the branching years, While here beyond the Sundering Seas now fall the Elven-tears. O Lórien! The Winter comes, the bare and leafless Day; The leaves are falling in the stream, the River flows away. O Lórien! Too long I have dwelt upon this Hither Shore And in a fading crown have twined the golden elanor. But if of ships I now should sing, what ship would come to me, What ship would bear me ever back across so wide a Sea?
The songs just elevate the books so much, it's such a shame none of them made it to the movies, but also seeing the most popular renditions by various pros on youtube they lose value by being overproduced so maybe it's for the better
Rob Inglis composed some of the music for the songs himself, some music was composed by Tolkien, and Claudia Howard of Recorded Books composed the rest.

At some stage, I'll upload more, if I ever get the chance! 😂
You are exactly right
The only person I'd trust singing this other than Rob is Billy Boyd and Sir Christopher Lee

I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew:
Of wind I sang, a wind there came and in the branches blew.
Beyond the Sun, beyond the Moon, the foam was on the Sea,
And by the strand of Ilmarin there grew a golden Tree.
Beneath the stars of Ever-eve in Eldamar it shone,
In Eldamar beside the walls of Elven Tirion.
There long the golden leaves have grown upon the branching years,
While here beyond the Sundering Seas now fall the Elven-tears.

You bow to no one my friend
Best song of the entire audiobook
So great I had to seek it out.
It’s tied with the lament for Boromir
Ya lol this song and dead boromir song are really beautiful. I'm glad we you guys agree

Long shot, but does anyone know where the original tune was from? Or was this an original melody made up for the audio book?

I really enjoyed this audiobook thanks to the songs.
