    The burr set on this grinder has 10 main settings directly on the burr cage in addition to the 60 on the knob. Going finer on the cage will give you more range to dial in on the knob.

      You are very welcome! But I would recommend going through this process to fine tune the beans that you are using. Different beans or even the same bean from different roasters might yield slightly different results. Your recipe and how hard you tamp will also affect this. But I am happy to give a bit of guideline at least =] Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

    Hello . It is a very useful video. Are u using simple or pressurised filter on the first machine? I think now they give both filters with bambino. Will the 54 mm porte filter can go on the grinder ? The little metal container u have look cool . Does it have a name or reference? Thanks a lot I watched a lot of video but this was one of the most useful

    i grind with mine set to 5, with the OEM setting for the distance between the burs.
    you can "calibrate" the timer with a set of scales. so once you have it dialed in, you can just press the button, and get 18.0 grams just about every time.

    For your double wall test, I am thinking maybe she will need a coarser grind since her machine will most likely have a higher bar pressure since it only came with pressurized portafilters while your machine came with both and is designed to support 9 bars.

    I had one of these for 10 months, then returned it as not fit for purpose to Amazon, where I bought it. Sage (Breville) agreed to replace it for me, but I declined as I didnt want to be in the same position in another year. The problem is that the impeller wears out and is not available as a spare part. some people are 3d printing their own, but this is not really a solution.

    it may be for those particular beans. I haven't had to use a setting finer than 12 before with my smart grinder pro and bambino plus set up with the single wall basket. But man, that white version looks so clean and pretty! I have the default stainless, which looks sleek of course, but still the white one looks more special!

    • @XICups
      @XICups  3 года назад

      Yeah, it may very well be. As a matter of fact, just tamping harder or using more beans will change the output. That's why it's important to dial in the setting according to your habits when you get a new machine or new beans. But, yes the white color is so nice to look at.

    1. an experienced user should know: you do NOT go by the brew time but by the pressure. That is why Breville equipped the machine with a pressure dial gage, and not with a stop watch!
    2. different beans cause different results, meaning with the exact same settings (amount + grain size), the pressure can vary significantly, thus fine tuning may be required when switching beans.
    3. measuring the weight of the beans before and after grinding is irrelevant. If you want to become scientific, and measure a decimal after the period, then first conduct a gage study to understand gaging variation.
