Waking The Fallen's chord progressions really highlight a lot of the bands punk rock influences while the overlaying tone of the album highlights their metal influences. It was a perfect mixture.

Changed for the best, musically speaking the way this album dips, dives and explores different directions makes it an all time masterpiece. The vocal range, the guitar melodies, jimmy’s insane drum patterns. the fact you fan hear johnny’s bass 😅. Honestly man, it deserves more credit. Hats off to you for not being scared to make the change because it revolutionised a whole new wave of metal. Bottoms up! 🍻

I agree Waking The Fallen didn't really seem like the other Metalcore bands, I never thought of Sounding The Seventh Trumpet or Waking The Fallen as Core music it doesn't have the same formula as other Core music if that makes sense, and I have to say making whatever you guys want too was definitely the right call because it makes it so exciting when a new album is coming out and having no clue what it'll sound like, but it still has that same Avenged Sevenfold sound no matter what genre you guys tackle, it's why Avenged Sevenfold has been my favorite band or tied as my favorite band since I found it from Need For Speed Most Wanted back in 2005

    M. Shadows stated during Hail to the king. The band agreed they didn’t want to sound like waking the fallen when they were in their 30s and 40s. And they didn’t! 😇

Johnny, I’m not sure if you respond to comments but if you do, do you remember a rumor starting around 2004 that Shadows tore something in his throat on stage? Like ended up throwing blood and the show had to end. Any truth to that or is that like a Mandela affect thing.I’m from the Midwest so rumors are about the only constant fun, so you may not even know what I’m talking about.

Good bands just fucking make music. They don't take genres into consideration, and if they do, it's merely to be influenced by.

That's Brody King (a wrestler from AEW and also the lead vocalist of a band called God's Hate) and I don't know if he's that big on them, so it's a mistake I'd forgive
