So is Kitt. Those jet engines can flip a bus that gets behind it at full throttle. Kitt stood no chance being behind the engine if that jet engine was at full throttle, but you know movie physics gives us the illusion it's at full throttle.
@@edwardsr70 Not really. 3rd gen T/A has extremely good drag coefficient plus the engine is higher than kit. The would be hitting only higher part of the body, meaning KITT only got additional downforce for it. For a car like this to be flipped it would have had to be a bigger engine and hitting the side of the car. Not the front windscreen which in this scenario works like a spoiler.
In the pilot episode, KITT had already successfully stopped a plane by ramming it's wing, and he would do so again later in "Dead of Knight." Michael's maneuver would seem to be... unnecessary.
I'd like to answer there may be a slight difference. In the situation... In those past episodes there were nothing but criminals... That's particular time has a hostage, maybe he didn't want to risk killing the hostage. Just a thought.
@@arthurwomack941 He wanted to block the rudder. Most likely the pilot wouldn't have noticed before taking off, and the plane would have crashed killing everyone inside. Also, it's shown many times in the series that KITT could outrace jets, so all he had to do, was to was to overtake and force it to slow down so it wouldn't have been able to take off. Knight Rider scriptwriters were terribly lazy and incompetent. You have another example of this in this very episode; jet runs aways in some other city and KITT outraces it on the way to Las Vegas. Given necessity to slow down for cornering and traffic, KITT would have needed to make up reaching on straights at least a few THOUSAND MILES AN HOUR, if not over 10 thousand miles an hour. Not only it's way too much for any level of imagination, the fastest speed ever shown on his speedometer was only 450MPH, and it was in Season 4 in Super Pursuit Mode.
He just outraced this jet when going from one city to another, but here he can't overtake it and force it to slow down. Also imagine if he blocked the rudder, the plane would have crashed killing everyone inside. The scriptwriter must not have even been drunk... He must have been on a cocktail of drugs and inhalling glue or toluen thinner!
You would think a police officer on patrol would notice a driver-less TransAm with a man unconscious on the hood and at least turn around and try to investigate…
Funny thing is that earlier in this episode KITT outraced the same jet en route to Las Vegas. Meaning according to this scrip, KITT could reach speed of a thousand miles an hour at least (to outrace jet flying in straight line, while driving on regular roads), but he couldn't just overtake it on the airfield. Typical Knight Rider. Even when they wrote otherwise very good script (most of the time they didn't), they had to break it with stupid moments like this.
Michael must have been a superhero he is directly in the path of the jet engine at full power

Of course he was!

Detectives like Micheal r JUST AMAZING. Wish he could be real and K.I.T.T. Also
The real hero here is Michael's leather jacket!
amazingly it was back on his body as he was waking up
“Michael, didn’t we just see this clip?”

I feel like he could’ve stopped the plane differently.
Love that comment! Yes, KITT could have stopped it several ways.
They just needed more screen time and for the plot to continue for the epic finale of the episode. 😅

Rescue Mission gone wrong
The bad guys were never a match against Michael Knight
Why don't KITT activate the "Micro Jam" button to disrupt the plane's engine....
The script didn't think of that! 😂
Whereing a later jacket in a hot climate like a desert must be popular on the 80s

Wait a minute, KITT didn't take Michael to the hospital but instead went directly to the FLAG truck.
It would be hard to explain driving into the hospital with a man on your hood. 😅
@@sashamountainwater9322 You're right and it would also be hard to explain a car that drives on its own.
@@norfolksouthernrailfan2006 Exactly. Devon would have a hay day with that 😂

Kitt nya asi orang
Welcome back to land of the living
He easily could have tossed his jacket into the engine.
Chances are the engine would've simply ate up his jacket.

I wonder how Michael got his jacket back?
Look 1:14-1:15 slow motion and jacket drops in to the drivers seat from the open roof window.

Well spotted, I was too busy focusing on Michael.
@@cerealfibre6938 Yep. 😄
I hope there is KITT Reborn 2027 🚀 and AirWolf 🚁
What episode is this?
