    Excellent reporting, Vitalis Nyagowo (sp).
My question is this, is the fishing industry in Kenya in a decline or is the decline limited to Lake Victoria?
If it's limited to Lake Victoria, the problem is much bigger than we imagined!

Whats needed is Investment in Public awareness programs to educate the fishermen on how to sustain this trade. The catching of baby fish and fish eggs must be strongly discouraged to allow for the industry to fluorish for many more years!!

LAKE VICTORIA WAS INITIALLY CALLED LAKE "LOLWE".... BUT WACOLONY CAME & RENAMED HER AFTER THEIR QUEEN VICTORIA!!
    Just FYI

that is wrong there are hundreds of diffrent people groups living around the lake who all had diffrent words for the lake. Using Lolwe would ignore the other peoples names so its best to let it remain as lake Victoria

Most have hiv and aids. Maybe that has caused this decline, coupled with rise and profitable farm raised fish that can be mass produced and disguised as other fish...
