"IT'S SHINY SWORD MY DIAMOND UGHHH"
I only changed that line because I felt that it was written awkwardly, and that just stood out more when it was placed next to my English adapted lyrics, so I changed the line so everything would flow together better. I adapt my songs for an English-speaking audience and try my best to write the lyrics in a way that makes them the most natural sounding to an English-Speaking ear. I always change English lyrics if they're awkwardly written, but try my best to keep the same meaning. "shiny sword my diamond" isn't something you'd actually say in a sentence... You'd say "My sword shines like a diamond", or something similar ... There was no way to convey this entire message in the amount of syllables I was given, so I had to shorten it to "shining like a diamond". In the rest of the translation, she talks about how she's making herself into a diamond, or trying to imitate one anyway, so I wanted the 1st line of the chorus to really convey that, without pulling the attention away from her and onto her sword. We all interperate lyrics differently though - that's the beauty in the art!
This is very respectable. Just because the original song says this in English doesn't mean it needs to be in an English cover. Nice job on this cover.

@@abyz9774 Not bashing anything! But it's not uncommon for English lyrics in Japanese songs to be written in an awkward way, or not 100% grammatically correct. That's no fault of theirs! English isn't their native language.
See this is why I love your covers over everyone else. Yours just seem to flow better in English. A lot of people ask me why I like your covers and I tell them that you don't just translate, you adapt as well, (Is adapt the right word).

What Manga you mean the ligth novel
4 episodes cover the 1st book of the light novel with only maybe 2 big things left out and 1 minor thing.
@Nathan , There actually is a manga adaptation, though only seven chapters have been translated into English. It has been untouched for quite some time and translations were probably dropped, but you can find the chapters here:

There is a manga, but it’s very far behind and not the source material. The light novels/web novels are the real source material. I definitely recommend reading those, as SAO isn’t the best anime adaptation. They leave out a lot, especially conflicts within Kirito’s head

To the future peeps who may stumble across this.
The reason Shining like a Diamond might not sound great to you is because Shiny Sword My Diamond is sung originally as 7 syllables, where as the replacement in this song is sung as 6 syllables.
Anyways, enjoyed the song, wished that part had stayed faithful to the original, but what can you do.
