So glad Bella didn’t get kicked. I could hear the frustration in your voice as you said your horse was wearing a ribbon. Bella has behaved very well being young and inexperienced.
What the hell is wrong with people dosnt matter if its a mare or gelding if its a kicker make it known. What's happened to riding etiquette. Whats wrong with people getting in single file as a horse passes. Rant over well done Tara.
That rider should be reported to the group organiser if riding a kicker without a red ribbon. That could be very dangerous. Glad you are nearly back I would think Bellas legs are getting tired after plodding through all that mud for miles. Well done to both Bella and yourself Tara 🐴🐴🐴
You must be so proud of Bella. What a good girl… she passed the other horses and strode on totally disregarding them. I see now the benefits of doing all her initial training on her own. It’s made her very confident and trusting of you. Well done to you both👍‼️‼️
Riders like that infuriate me! They are usually young girls who are ill prepared for the horse they have. Mare or gelding, or indeed stallion....makes no difference, if it kicks wear a ribbon and keep yourself away from other participants. As for Bella, she's not put a foot wrong. Great ride.
I’m glad at least the rider warned you! If she had a ribbon, and it fell off, why wouldn’t a person have a back up in case? It’s only fair to other riders and a safety rule for all including the rider🤷🏻♀️. Uh oh! Flies still buzzing, too, but it really is a beautiful ride!💛😊
Superbly handled all round - what a ride - Bella a star. Thought you handled the mare without a ribbon incident politely but pointedly. Hats off to you. ❤
Bella did great!! Glad all went well for her and you Tara. 👍👏 Bella got a chance to canter also!! She did the whole ride walking, trotting and finally cantering!!🏇
She is doing quite well on these rides Tara😀👍she responds to your quiet commands of walk, trot, canter. I was surprised the lady didn't have red on her horses tail! That's bad form.
I misunderstood...I thought you said you and Bella would just hang at the back when she asked if you wanted to pass. The next thing I saw was Bella and you sort of tailgating then passing between them. I guess i was confused. But, yes, everyone should feel safe in the company of other horses and riders. Thankful all was well. Great videos of a tough ride...flies, thick mud, and iffy tempered horses...but, a learning experience for me. Best to all!
Hi Irene 🙂 👋 Tara decided to go past them, because there was a horse that was a kicker, at the back of the group. The girl said to Tara, it was a kicker. But her horse, didn't have a red warning ribbon in it's tail as it should have. Tara wanted to get away, from that horse / group of horse's. 😘
Tara GOOD ON YOU for telling the lady's, about the ribbon as is helps all .Take care and all the best, YOU and Bella HAVE done SUCH a fantastic job. 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Glad you and Bella didn’t have a problem with a kicker! We saw how dangerous it was on another ride you took with Farouk! I remember the woman had to go home because she was kicked in the knee! I think Farouk was so fast once the horse only got a glancing blow! Again horses without red ribbons! I’m glad on this ride the person at least warned you before you got too close! Who knows how Bella would have reacted as she is new to these group rides! Bella did great but will be tired from dodging the flies and transversing all the boggy fields! Hope better weather is in the forecast! Enjoy your weekend! 🐴⭐️❤️❤️

Sitting here AMAZED at how great Belle is on the trail. I've watched her journey since you 1st got her & the first couple of solo rides when she refused to move under tree shadows, but now....she barely notices those big shadows & other horses in group do not phase her.
I'm so glad Bella didn't get kicked at...that really would have been traumatic for such a young horse! She is being so well-behavedd! Whew...with the pathway being so boggy, Bella is getting a workout today!!💪She has earned TWO stud muffins!!!
well done tara and bella 👍i would suggest to get the organisers to have a couple of red ribbons on hand or on the programme schedule or morning of the event advice if any horse is or maybe a kicker to wear it on tail, i wouldn't rely on ignoramuses!
Bella is progressing so well! She obviously loves going out! I agree about the tail ribbon. You don’t see so many people with them these days. Do you think they don’t know, Or worse , think it doesn’t look cool?
Very glad Bella wasn’t kicked! Irresponsible. Bella did exceptionally well during this ride especially with all of those annoying flies and soggy mud. She’s a star in my opinion!! What a wonderful girl!! You deserve extra muffins and carrots! ❤️👑🐴❣️
No need to make a fuss, the lady did tell you. In any case if you don't know the other horse always good to not get too close. Even horses without a 'ribbon' can kick. Bella is really well behaved...
Bella has become so much more settled, beyond her years. So much promise showing. She will continue to learn and advance. Would not be a bit suprised if she starts opening some of those gates herself on these rides!
In the Carpathian Mountains they tie red ribbons on their horses' tails and in their manes. They also hang long red tassels just under their ears on their bridals. A bit like earrings. It looks very jolly. I do not think it has anything to do with kicking though.
There is a belief that someone who thinks badly of you, or on the contrary much too well as envy, can hurt you just by looking at you. It is called "deochi". it is valid for people but also for their animals. For protection they wear a red token. That is for fashion too
Wow can't believe jow wet it is I get floods and torrential rains regularly here in Australia too but not the mud In my region as the soil is sandy so drains fast Is the humidity high Tara cause the flies love it and come out in force Yes Bella would be tired both mentally and physically I reckon working in that soft boggy ground would be like climbing a sand dune She has gone well though
It’s disgusting when people blatantly ignore rules and risk the safety of others. Glad you and Bella were safe. 5:05 silly lady with the browner coloured horse.
I suppose it has to be proved that they are a "known" kicker? but even if you're not sure the smart and responsible thing to do must be to HAVE a red ribbon
Wauw 🤩 you two doing so great. I wish I could ride in England looks so beautiful there with you. Bella is a sweet girl . Attach an ear tag for cows with anti-fly agent to her bridle. I always used to do that with my horse. Your on the country side you can buy them by a shop that have farmers supply.
Made me laugh (not really), in addition to not having a red tail ribbon, that young girl seemed to want you to ride behind her making YOU responsible for HER horse not kicking out at you. Unbelievable, but unfort true. The mud and flies made that ride a bit of a marathon but good, and well executed by you, Tara, and Bella. You both deserve a treat and a relax!! ❤❤
Highly unacceptable group riding etiquette, if your horse is a known kicker you wear a ribbon and park your horse at the back, defo needs to be reported, not just horses that could be injured but riders too.
@@Isobel201 except Tara was up close & personal to the kicker prior to being told, if there has been a ribbon Tara could have seen it & steered clear. You've seen were Tara did get kicked in the leg by a horse? Her leg could have been broken.
Dont know too too much about horses, but shouldnt one train the kicking out of a horse? Its much like a dog that tries ro attack every dog that comes near it...thats what that reminds me of.
I don’t know if that’s possible; you can’t always identify why a horse develops a kicking habit. Could even be part of some horses’ personality, for all I know.
No, horses bucking and kicking shows either a sign of discomfort and can also be used as a warning before damage is done, horses use it as a defence mechanism as well. It is built in it and it is cruel to train them to not do something that nature has taught them to do
@@justcoco331 well, I'm only talking about in terms of disrespect to the owner, especially when riding them or close to them where they could kill you .. like manners...not if in pain, or if another horse attacked them, etc..just in terms of the rider being near or on the horse ..
Tara, you handled this situations much better than I would 🤩 It's so irresponsible to ride a horse known to be a kicker out in a group, ribbon or no ribbon 😳👎 That bay was going to do something bad - the ears went back and the tail was swishing. Give it a rest Karen. Calm down and enjoy the ride, take necessary precautions you should take as a rider. You are in the middle of an open field, figure it out.
I wouldn’t go close behind any horse I didn’t know because all horses are capable of kicking, it’s an integral
part of their language.

We need this red ribbon rule in America.
We do! My horse was a kicker (although she rarely kicked) and I always put a red ribbon on her tail on trail rides. This was in the 70’s!
It might not be a rule, but it's common courtesy/etiquette/precautionary measure.
We do have the red ribbon rule in Missouri
