Had a 1989 CRX-Si that was purchased new. Drove it like I stole it everyday. 16x7 wheels and Ground Control coilover sleeves. Put 320,000 miles on it. Blew head gasket once. Most reliable car I ever had. Sold it in 2002 after buying a WRX.
It seems a new standard gets set every 10-15 years, building upon previous landmarks and continuing to push the boundaries, this is truly the next level. Congrats to everyone who had a hand in this superb mechanical work of art, long live the CRX. 👑
This is why americans have the best crazy builds in the world, the amount of swaps and never done things like this twin turbo j32 awd is crazy dope build. What an incredible unique build, cant wait to hear it on and pushed to redline. I dont think anywhere in the world has as much unique crazy builds like we do in the US. SEMA will always be the best car event ever
That eco carbon is flax composite so yes it’s made from flax seed. Check easy composites on flax composites or the tuthill Porsche 911k If you need any flax seed parts for your car ? Hit me up if you need parts 😊
I've seen this beauty before, and I'm over the top on the J2K stuff finally becoming a thing, but I did not know this build was out of my home state....dope!
Watched this car being built, well, all the fab work I should say and the body... I knew this thing was going to be rowdy AF. These are the same guys that have the M4 with the V12 at SEMA as well Edit: and at 6:00 it's called flax composite Larry, made from natural Flax fibers, good for appearance and the non-structural uses of composites as it's less strong than carbon or kevlar or glass, but it looks awesome... you want to see some really pretty use of it, look at Tuthill Porsche and their tombstone seats and RSR style steering wheel
I cant believe we missed this Toyo tent. People don't realize how big SEMA is. As a business owner, we decided to visit all booths (atleast walk by) and after 3 days we still didnt visit everything. Did score some free and cheap stuff on the last day. Vendors not wanting to pack stuff up so we were wheeling n dealing lol. Prob be back in 2 years and for sure visit the Toyo tent first lol
Awesome. thank you for a SEMA build that is not fake also like a certain Miata I recall. Very curious why the 3.2 block as opposed to 3.5 with 3.2 heads
I love my da9 Integras and crx but my 1g dsm makes me feel stuff my integra couldn't lol so combination of booth would be fun minus the exabition extortion would be fun
J-series is an interesting choice for sure. It's still going to be VERY fast just due to the power to weight. I hope to see it at some Gridlife events once they get the final kinks worked out!
I would love to know what this car feels like with a fatter 6cyl torque curve, earlier spool, and awd to put it all down. Is it more rally car than Civic at this point? Or is it somewhere in between like other awd converted civics that don’t put much power down in back?
Seems like many of these "SEMA" builds are finished last minute and have barely run. Almost like building full scale model cars that don't really work or haven't been tried yet. Everyone knows when SEMA is in advance. Seems silly. They are INCREDIBLE models, though!!
its always been a glorified networking event for aftermarket companies. as well as a product showcase. for viewrship purposes, youtubers been clickbaiting peeps to think these cars drive. 95% never do
Awe but with the ugly brown interior of the DX models there is nothing more beautiful. Honda nailed it. And Recaro ended up creating gorgeous matching brown and cream LX seats with fishnet headrests. The mid 80s inspired a lot of these themes.. Remember the A-Team Van? That thing was also beautifully ugly.
That is a super clean crx for sure but that engine is kinda weird. Especially when Honda makes some of the most capable platforms in existence. Seems like they just wanted to have a different engine to have a different engine. This is the first time I've ever said that an engine just doesn't seem to fit.
Kinda bummed they went time attack with this one. Would have loved to see a rally x/gymkhana inspired cr-x. Don't get me wrong I love the car it's rad as fuck but, tire smoke and awd reverse entries get my engine revving more that grip and downforce.
Don’t get your hopes up they never finished the z4 from last year or the rx7 from the year before so you are more likely to see another build from them at sema 25 than these get finished and used
Why do people wait till 2 months to build a car when you have had the chassis for a long time. I’d love to go to sema but I much appreciate finished, tuned drivable cars to be honest.
"i know we have all year and could even start a project a year ahead, but we just got all the parts in last month and fireded it up last night for the first time" 🙃🙃 im tired of that PR story. Just build the car we're already interested cause its not like we can afford it.
Time and budget obstacles happen on $100k builds too. Idk what people don't understand about this concept. Just because you gave a plan doesn't mean everything works out. Shit takes longer than expected if you want a good chance at everything working properly when you turn the key
Is it a sema requirement to either have an unfinished, not tuned, or not running car? Just joking & I know it takes a lot to build these cars but at this point it’s kinda ridiculous how many of the cars there are incomplete, not running, or tuned.
Yeah sounds impossible, yet with Maria Luisa clare, I've come to the conclusion that financially anything is possible. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend and a whooping $320k in savings already, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in debt then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Maria Luisa. Clare is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note!:: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!!!!!!!!!!!!.......
Personally would've rather seen a C30A/32B in it...that would've sounded glorious... and if you want new "V6", then trying to source and figure out where to stuff a JNC1 in, probably rear-mid mounted, leaving the front for cooling, radiators, coolers, intercoolers, exchangers, and potentially the fuel cell, would've been something never seen before
That thing looks so unfinished. Front bumper misaligned. Missing parts. I would be embarrassed to show something like that at SEMA. Good idea, bad execution.
These fools all secrective. Larry notices the vibe. Focusing on the bs and not the actual build. I'd thumbs down just on the bff u interviewing. Scrubs.
I don’t like it. Seems wildly inefficient. Give em props for the r hard work but it seems like more of a headache than anything else. Especially if they plan on running it.
Would have been extremely nice looking if they removed that ugly spoiler side skirts and rear diffuser oh also some nicer rims. Car looks tacky and cheap like some kid built it. Street car lmao do not be stupid zero interior and such large exterior parts that do not fit or look correct.
Not a Honda guy, but a car guy for sure. This thing is just bad ass!!! I would love to see this thing run!!
I am a Honda guy and my mind is blown 🤯😮💨

This is the absolute sickest CRX I have ever seen.
I want to see this crx on a track so badly, can't wait!
As a CRX owner myself, I must say this build is crazy, str8 🔥🔥🔥
As someone who’s a fan of CRX’s this thing looks so mental 🔥
2:55 Inboard brakes don't change the rotating mass, but they do change the unsprung mass
The inbound brakes are intriguing
That body is on point.
Loving all the sema coverage and build showcases larry good stuff
This is why americans have the best crazy builds in the world, the amount of swaps and never done things like this twin turbo j32 awd is crazy dope build. Engine looks familiar...was that the same engine from my 2k Acura 3.2 TL?
Goodness! A true pocket rocket of a car as per specs. Can't wait to see this CRX on tracks/roads.
I watched them build this car on their channel glad to see they made it to sema and got featured by the GOAT himself Larry Chen.
Sickest wide body kit ive ever seen on any car
That eco carbon is flax composite so yes it’s made from flax seed. Check easy composites on flax composites or the tuthill Porsche 911k If you need any flax seed parts for your car ? Hit me up if you need parts 😊
My first car was a 1991 CRX. I have always wanted another one to do a build on. This thing looks awesome.
Very cool build, can't wait to see more!
I've seen this beauty before, and I'm over the top on the J2K stuff finally becoming a thing, but I did not know this build was out of my home state....dope!

Great job. Youse were working hard to get that done.
Done beautifully down to the body design
I seen this a few weeks ago on i95 going south bound in Palm Beach County. This is insane and clean

Props for the Bosozoku Mochi!
They actually made it!!!
This CRX was built for Time Attack by a friend of mine from England. The last time a saw this car on his garage here in FL, it was N/A V6 awd.
All these cars and none of them have been DRIVEN. They haven't even found out if the build is gunna work when they put the pedal to the floor
Waiting big time on this one. And any Skyline of course! 😅
Congrats again on 600K+ Larry. You're the man on CCC (Car Culture Content).
This thing is insane!
J series turbo sound so good!
Larry bringing the heat 🔥🔥this morning
Awesome. thank you for a SEMA build that is not fake also like a certain Miata I recall. Very curious why the 3.2 block as opposed to 3.5 with 3.2 heads
HOMESTEAD - MIAMI 🔥💯
I have an 88 EF Civic sedan DX.. Same color. Also AWD (S1 Built) with a K20 turbo, 6 speed. My car is amazing... But this CRX puts my car to shame.
Yeah, makes you not even wanna drive yours now.
GAWD'S MODUR GOBBLESS 60 DEGREES AND SOHC LIKE THE LORD INTENDED HELL YEAH BUDDY
Love the color !
The 959 in the background looks cool....
This is sooooo cool ;D LOVE IT!!
I love my da9 Integras and crx but my 1g dsm makes me feel stuff my integra couldn't lol so combination of booth would be fun minus the exabition extortion would be fun

I was going to say you better do a video on that crx lol
Seems like many of these "SEMA" builds are finished last minute and have barely run. Almost like building full scale model cars that don't really work or haven't been tried yet. Everyone knows when SEMA is in advance. Seems silly. They are INCREDIBLE models, though!!
Yea, it’s a car show, not a race event…
Seems like you don’t know much about the purpose of SEMA
It's not a race, its a showcase 🙄
its always been a glorified networking event for aftermarket companies. as well as a product showcase. for viewrship purposes, youtubers been clickbaiting peeps to think these cars drive. 95% never do
These cars don’t pay the bills. Their full time job isn’t to build SEMA cars. It’s to service their customers.
Element and 2nd gen crv you can get the k series awd transmission
HOLY SHIT 😍😍😍
beautiful
OEM Honda colour inspired by a prosthetic limb
Awe but with the ugly brown interior of the DX models there is nothing more beautiful. Honda nailed it. And Recaro ended up creating gorgeous matching brown and cream LX seats with fishnet headrests. The mid 80s inspired a lot of these themes.. Remember the A-Team Van? That thing was also beautifully ugly.
Whats happened when the largest auto tech show doesn't have one running car. Looks good but in a place full of mechanics everyone needs a mechanic
Insane👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
These type of builds are what the positive side of Hondas are known for
I was so focused on the r33 I basically ignored the other cool cars in the Toyo tent
"Wanted to keep the retro vibe" lmao
Rollcage proud someone spent money on safety
What's the for sale price when its ready to sell?
100% dream build for me.
"you gotta have the cup holders' 👍
Nuts...
Interesting stuff
Those guys seemed tired or was it just me haha. Awesome CRX, would have kept the d16a6 tho :p
Why twins vs one little bit bigger single that would spool faster?
Can you get a video of tjs street hunter stang or will you get fired?
I watched the build of this car, all wheel drive Honda with a Honda V6 wide body twin turbo
That is a super clean crx for sure but that engine is kinda weird. Especially when Honda makes some of the most capable platforms in existence. Lesshhh goooooo. . .not often seen but needed.
Kinda bummed they went time attack with this one. Would have loved to see a rally x/gymkhana inspired cr-x. Don't get me wrong I love the car it's rad as fuck but, tire smoke and awd reverse entries get my engine revving more that grip and downforce.
Lol! I thought this was a 3 Cylinder!😅 I thought, two turbos on a 3 Cylinder, weird!😅
Please track these guys down again soon to record some pulls in this thing.
Don’t get your hopes up they never finished the z4 from last year or the rx7 from the year before so you are more likely to see another build from them at sema 25 than these get finished and used
That is Hemp or Flax Fiber.
Sweeet build
MY FIRST HONDA WAS A 4 SPEED IN THIS SAME COLOR
Willing to bet this thing doesn't even run - like most SEMA builds; all show.
As one of the builders I can confirm it runs 🤙🏼
@@Yasiel_Depew_Racing🧢
It needs a time slip for sure this crx
Why's he never say the name of the company that built the cars?
Remind me of might mouse but more advance
La pizarrita voladora
Larry your videos fucking rule
😍
Why do people wait till 2 months to build a car when you have had the chassis for a long time. I’d love to go to sema but I much appreciate finished, tuned drivable cars to be honest.
If I hit the lottery. I will find you.......and I will purchase this vehicle. (wipes excess drool)

@TDT0188 they started two months ago...
Tha carbon replacement is flax.
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Is it a sema requirement to either have an unfinished, not tuned, or not running car? Just joking & I know it takes a lot to build these cars but at this point it’s kinda ridiculous how many of the cars there are incomplete, not running, or tuned.
Coll
I woul like a fully stock crx better
Bro said street legal but has no head lights
LoL OEM +++++++
$75k biweekly changed my mindset and behavior, my goals, my family and I've to say this video has inspired me a lot!!!!❤️......

I got started with a miserly $1500. The results have been mind blowing I must say TBH!!
@@BritoCornelioWhat is the best way to get connection to that woman y'all mentioning and speaking bout?
There is her line!!! under this comment!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🔁 Just put the digits together.
Should have just put the VR38 at this point
If you're going to put a vr38 in it, might as well go up to an ls.

Casey's custom v8 crx is way better then this one
That thing looks so unfinished. Front bumper misaligned. Missing parts. I would be embarrassed to show something like that at SEMA. Good idea, bad execution.
I can’t tell if you’re joking or not.

Time attack car built for the track
Gotta be the ugliest Honda crx in the world.
@moceriautocraft is an exhaust guru.
The color is meh, but the car itself is fkn bada$$.
