he looks like shy, introvert person but in the same time he managed to steals the scene with every character he does thanks to his talent and quiet charisma, have been following his carrer for a while and he never disappointed ''A theacher'' was really good show and so underrated.

The aging of Eric was done very well - kudos to the makeup artist, or process. The face was so naturally old, I started questioning my own sanity lol

Well done, Nick! The bait-and-switch was unsuccessful with me ONLY because the relationship made me so uncomfortable immediately. I never rooted for it. But the provoked examination was successful because I was involved with someone 12.5 years older than me from 16-20. And Nick’s character Eric was right when speaking about this brothers… I look at 16 year olds as a 29 year old, the same age the person I was involved with was, and they look so fucking young.

If you were rooting for the relationship, you should really check yourself for reverse sexism. It was a brilliant idea to portray a female teacher with a male student. If this story was about an older male going after a student, people would be disgusted (as they should be). Grooming is a real thing and it is beautifully portrayed in this series. If you watch from the beginning, Eric was not interested in his teacher.... at all. In fact, he complained that she gave too much homework.
She 100% orchestrated those moment and made this poor young kid think he was to blame. Kids are easily manipulated and molded. That's why it's ILLEGAL to exploit children for sex. I saw this with my own sister. She worked for this 45 year old man (with kids) and she was 19 years old. My sister came from a troubled home and started to trust her boss. He made her feel "special" and unique. He treated her differently (same as the teacher). I remember asking my sister about her boss and she said he was like a "father" to her. Well one day, he flipped the script and made a move. My sister called me crying saying she felt like she couldn't control herself. It was hard to explain but mentally, she felt powerless. They ended up sleeping together and she quit her job. If I hadn't seen this first hand, the control, manipulation, confusion. The grown ass adult putting WAYYY too much on a freakin child!!!
Eric didn't have the mental capacity to handle what Claire was putting on his shoulders. He should have been worrying about prom, homework and teen shit. Instead he had to endure manipulation, affair with a married woman, her going to jail and carrying the entire burden that SHE caused. It literally traumatized this poor kid and turned him into an alcoholic. What Claire did was abuse. Hands down. Like Eric said in the serious "my little brother is 17 and he looks so f*cking young." Because that's what ALL adults should think.
Great series. Educating people about grooming is important.

"Reverse sexism" is an oxymoron dude, it would still just be sexism.

Absolutely. And in the end Claire was just a selfish broken women who couldn't get better even if she tried. She really just didn't see what she did. She made her marital problems out to be like she was the only person in the world to have them. And she admitted she couldn't end her marriage so she had the affair to end it for her. She was a coward from the start

I get what they were trying to accomplish, but then they really shouldn’t have used someone as talented and as gorgeous as he is; that’s the true trauma here…most of us all drooling over someone we are supposed to be against?
    Yeah…
    That wasn’t going to happen.
I mean, look at him, give me a break.
    With eyes like his too?
Who in their right mind *could* deny him?
So…maybe had they cast someone else less talented and attractive….we may have been able to empathize better, or be able to buy more of what they were trying to sell?

but that's what makes this show amazing, it was realistic. a high school kid IS going to be attracted towards a young and attractive adult teacher.
and many people empathized with it.
