Just got a bottle for $24.99 last week. I really like the flavor and nose, not sure about "best whiskey" but what do I know. Worth $25 hell yes. Grab a bottle if you can find it on sale like I did.
Thank you for your review. This is my first rye. I have to say it’s a bit spicier than I was expecting. Not bad, just “more”…. We’ll see how it goes as I drink more into the bottle.
I might be the only one to ever think this but I always thought that the Northern Harvest Rye has notes of rose, similar to a Turkish delight, which is why I love this whiskey.
CR NHR did not even win Canadian Whisky of the year (in Canada) that year, Lot 40 beat it and for a good reason, much better. Wait till the Lot 40 12 year cask strength is released in a month (per Breaking Bourbon it will be released in some US cities as well) $70 US Cheers
It is somehow... refreshing? to see someone do a review like this that isn't about beer (but somehow the fig and orange notes persist!). Very nice review!
+TroubleBrewingStudio Thanks TroubleBrewing! I may not get the huge audience that someone who abuses jump cuts may get but I'm growing and I'll get there:)
ok all we need are some stills, a good water source, lots of grains, glass bottles, some kind of label though my personal idea is to use crayon, and 10-20 years of waiting. im probably missing a bunch but im sure we'll have it all worked out no problem. oh, yeah barrels. big giant barrels. wooden ones.
+raversmiracle2 ooo we don't even need a building. We can call the whiskey "GlenRainedOn". "We expose our whiskey to the harshest of elements, to bring you a whiskey for the most discerning palate".
Now that the hype has died down it's very easy to find and it's much cheaper. It's 31 bucks at the store near me and they have like 20 bottles or so and always have it stocked.
Congratulations for your channel. Crown Royal have an aged version in barrels served with ice cider. I would like to have your opignion? Thanks in advance!
I sincerely enjoy the reviews. Is there a chance to have Crown Royal Maple and also Vanilla reviewed in the near future. Appreciated, and thanks for the honest evaluations...
I have to agree. It was good, honestly one of the better Canadian whisky's I've had... but it's not something that should be competing on a world stage.
LOVE this Rye whiskey.❤
I just bought, and opened, a bottle of Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye tonight....Loved it! This is good stuff!
You are correct my friend. This whiskey is delicious it’s my new favorite rye. I picked up a bottle for $25 today. It’s a steal ...
Nice find!
Thank you for reviewing this and not being a creepy old guy
I aspire to be a creepy old guy but I have a lit of years to go!
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary Well hopefully you'll never get there

Just picked this up - it’s really good. Got it for $24.99. Not quite as smooth as the Crown Deluxe but definitely more flavorful.
Thanks for the review. I just put it on my list of ryes to purchase.

Enjoy! If it's too much, toss an ice cube in there it'll settle right down

I got this about a year ago and for some reason the taste reminded me of bubblegum. Lol good stuff.
Just picked this up. Awesome whisky for the price. Great review!
I'm psyched you like it!
Saw it for 14 bucks at cvs and pick up 4 lol. I am so glad and gift one to my father in law
Thats crazy
Great video. Keep up the good work!
+Juan Pablo Villarroel Thanks!
Good review. I have tried this a few times actually, and it makes a great old fashioned.

I don't recall getting those notes but it's been a LONG time since I've reviewed this whisky

Now I will have to try it. Keep up the good work.
+raltgaither let me know what you think about it when you do clearly I was a big fan
Will do, I really like your channel.
+raltgaither thanks!
what would you suggest for a smooth scotch with caramel, vanilla, and a bit of smoke on the flavor profile?
+raversmiracle2 hmm... Sounds like you want an islay that was finished in a bourbon cask... I'm not confident one exists...
well there we go. we'll corner the market. we can become the next richard patersons
+raversmiracle2 let's do it!

This beats any Scotch for my tastes.
When this first hit the market in Canada it sold out in minutes. I may grab a bottle for my collection today. The store near me has a bunch.

Yea that happens pretty often. Bottles explode and are hard to find
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary I grabbed a local fave instead. Cabot Trail Maple Cream.

+DAVE REYNOLDS Unless Crown sends me those bottles, probably not. I don't really want to do flavored whiskey on this channel. Sorry
I had seen the review of C.R. Maple by whiskey.com and was hoping for another expert appraisal on this variety. Thanks for listening
+DAVE REYNOLDS it may be good, but i don't review flavored whisky. At least not yet
$15.99 @ my Total Wine. A no brainer.
in ontario its 33 on sale from $35
Are you on Whiskybase? What's your user name there, I'm curious to see your collection.
+physics2112 I'm not. I've tried a few whiskey apps but haven't found ant good ones that l really like yet.
I challenge you to review Canadian Club.
+A.J. Smith a challenge you say?
The Whiskey Dic yes sir. To me it tastes like gasoline with E150 colourant.
+A.J. Smith I'll keep an eye out
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary if you can find the Canadian Club 100% Rye, a review on it would be awesome!
I'll look for it
Have you tied the LOT 40 - Canadian Rye Whisky - It is SOOO much better than this - in my opinion
+WhiskyJason not yet, but I will!
Jim murphy over hyped

ick, I can't be subbed to you after all if this is what your palate deems "awesome".
To be fair... this video is super old
