How to clean the venturi tube in a Coleman RoadTrip LXE grill

- This is a DIY video for unclogging a venturi tube or gas supply line on a Coleman RoadTrip grill. We had to do this because one side of the grill wasn't holding and maintaining a flame. According to Coleman customer service, the owner's manual, and grill experts on the internet, if your flame on both burners isn't working well, it's likely a problem with the gas regulator or the propane tank. But in our case, only one burner was having the problem, so that narrowed down the problem to the gas lines and venturi tubes. The owner's manual, and numerous online videos, will share that spiders really like to make their homes in these tubes when the grill isn't in use. So, to fix the problem, you need access to the venturi tubes to clean them out. Unfortunately, the owner's manual for the 9949A Series RoadTrip Grill has some incomplete instructions, and misleading instructions. This video will show you how the instructions are wrong and will show you how to gain access to the Venturi tubes and gas lines to get your grill running again. For reference, here is a link to the owner's manual online: coleman.custhe...
Thank you for the very descriptive video. Great job!
Boy you just saved me. We just bought a 2nd hand one of these and even though the guy showed us it would light it didn't. I did what your video showed and it started up for me. Thank you
I looked at the same instructions and took that same screw out that holds the igniter and of course the burner didn't come off. So I found your video and it is extremely helpful. Thanks
Thanks for the video. I was having a problem with the yellow flame on one side of the burners and was able to fix it. Appreciate it. I give it five STARS *****
The manual for this is so wrong, thanks for your help.
THANK YOU!!!! I had the exact same issue in the exact same place and the exact same thought: these instructions are USELESS!!! Burners are firing perfectly now!😃
You rule, this saved my day. It was all spiderwebs in there! Thanks for making this.
I watched a lot of other videos and followed their instructions but none seemed to resolve the problem I was experiencing with my BBQ. However after watching your video I was able to solve it.
I really appreciate your very clear instructions on how to identify and fix the problem, it worked for me. Many thanks
We also got stuck at the point where the manual became unhelpful. This very specific and comprehensive video proved to be exactly what we needed. Also feel better about Coleman after seeing that they endorsed your video.Thank you!
Thanks so much for this. Coleman directed me to your video, and it is IMHO one of the best DIY videos solving a real issue. Coleman, however, could not seem to give the link and instead just told me to use as a search term the title of the video. Again, thank you!
Glad it helped! And glad I could help Coleman help their customers 😂
I Cleaned my burner on my Coleman road trip worked 100 percent thank you so much
Yay! Glad I could help!
Thanks for the clear, precise instructions!!! They're ***SO*** much better than the manual. The only thing I would add is that the metal edges of the shield can be sharp, so be careful.
I see this is several years old, but thank you. I have this exact grill. Pulled it out yesterday to take to the beach for the day to grill hot dogs n burgers. The left burner barley had a flame, the right side was fine. TodayI took it down to the burners like you show, but didn't think about bending that aluminum shield back to access the 2 screws. ( I was afraid I would need to remove the leg farm and take out screws from the bottom. Great help. Thanks
Glad this helped!
Exactly what I needed - your video was the only helpful thing on the internet. Thanks!
Awesome video only source on the internet with a true fix !
After consulting the manual, this is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
This video is exactly what I needed. I'm having trouble grtting the bolts unscrewed to get to the venturi tubes but I wont give up! I love this grill! Thank you again for posting this.
Great video. Able to get the burner working again. Saved me from having to buy a new grill.
Glad it helped!
Hey lady, That was a great video. Nice work. Please make more when you solve your DIY projects!!! My ex asked me to fix her grill like this and now I'm confident I can fix it. I'm going to be cooking on it when she comes back....haha
Great work! I evicted one little spider and once again have two functional burners
Wow, thanks! Having the same issue. Don't know what it is but I feel better digging into the grill now
Thank you for sharing this. I too was trying to follow the manual and was stuck.
Awesome instruction there and thank you for taking the time to make the video!
Thank you for this simple tutorial… My burner just stopped and was debating what to do… I will try this next weekend..
Hopefully it works for you!
Thanks for the video! That was great help! I tried to follow the manual in removing burner by unscrewing the burner screw and burner was not moving🤔
Thank you this was super helpful!
Really great video. On the dot. Saved me a new grill. Thank you
Thank you! Great video! I had the same issue. Your video helped me to fix it.

Hi,
Thank you for this feedback.
We also received same issues with the other consumers. We have checked the manual and yes you are correct it's hard to remove the burners and this video is helpful.
I have noted and forward this to our support team.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.
Sincerely,

This was exactly my problem! Thank you so much.
You just save our beach trip😊
Worked great thanks.
Thank You for This.
Thanks for this. I normally use my charcoal grill but today i didnt want to wait for the coals to fire up so i pulled out the same grill you have to grill quicker. Left burner not working. Really upset about. Im gonna try what you did and i hope it does the trick. Thanks again for the video
I hope it helps!
@@ORSunshine80 Just did exactly as you said and it worked!!! Both burners are up and running. thanks again!
I checked this and mine was fairly clean. But inside that brass fitting, the tiniest hole was clogged by the tiniest spec of whatever it was. I cleaned it and it fired right up
Mine too. Blew it out with a can of compressed air.
My road trip won't light and I suspect it's the rusting even though I gave a cover on it. I'm going to deep clean it and check the venturi tube. Thanks!
Thank you! Saved us today!
Thank you!
Grill fires up, but can not adjust flame level to high or low. Going to try this cleaning. Thank you for sharing
Thank you. We can save ours instead of sending it for recycle.
Good vid kid thankz
Wish I seen this before I got rid of mine!!
Thank you
You're awesome thanks. Hope this works!!
Great instruction even if it does not solve my problem.
What is the problem that yours is experiencing? I have had to do some other troubleshooting for other issues as well and may need to do a new video ;)
Thank you so much.
Can you do a video on how to fix the igniter switch that doesn’t work or click?
Why my grill isn't getting heat
Great video. Thanks! Anyone know where to find replacement burners?
Been looking myself. have you found any?
