that Cine EI help on iso setting is KEY. I'm trying to dial in my settings as I know this is a great low light camera (as long you're dialed).. if not, you wonder why you even bought one. Awesome videos, appreciate it!
Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome FX6 content bro. Finally pulled the trigger this week and it's been quite a learning curve going from an SIII to this but all your videos on the FX6 have been so helpeful. I've hit the sub button!
Nice vid! Cine EI is a beast that needs it own vid tbh. I was called by a friend on set who was telling me the crew was going to mess up by thinking the EI was actually changing the image. Also the fact that I can get XAVC S with 10 bit on the FX3 & A7siii but can’t get it that or XAVC L with 10 bit is the single most frustrating thing to me.
One surprising thing, I guess you mentioned this, was not to be able to select resolution 3840x2160 without changing fps from 24 to 23.98. I'm not sure if it's a bug in the software or common issue/global standard - feature :)
That’s very helpful 🙏🏻 I shoot in the a7iv and had overheating issues two times on set with clients which sucks! I knew it before but didn’t had the budget for an fx3 or even fx6. Now I definitely want to upgrade 🙏🏻
Awesome info because I'm in pursuit of the fX6 once I get my money right. Tell me you at least get scratch audio without the top handle. I have no problem recording externally but I need a way to sync in post.
Better off using timecode. The new rode wireless pro support timecode, Zoom F6 also support timecode. Both can record 32bit float. You dont even have to buy a timecode device with those, since a bnc to 3.5mm cable can sync them to FX6. If your recorder dont support tc, Deity TC-1 is a cheap option to add audio TC to your recorder, and the free tentical timecode tool can batch process and convert the audio tc into metadata tc. This works extreamly well in davinci resolve, you can quickly sync the audio track and remove all unwanted audio tracks before you drag the footage into timeline. (FX6 footage always comes with 8 audio tracks, which can be very annoying😅)
Just graduated from film school looking to do small business commercials and social media content should get fx6 or red Komodo? Iv only used the black magic pocket and ursa
I guess the audio - gimbal trade off is due to peolpe using handheld and using the gyro data in catalyst browse to stabalize anyways. Idk if thats right, what do you think?
So am watching this video in 2024 June 30 and I want to ask please does anyone know if the fx6 now has 10bits when recording 1080p or other lower res cos am seriously considering get the fx3 instead
Thanks man. I do photo/video full time but I’m thinking of going FX6 for the ND’s alone lol. Do you think I should get some type A cards or are SD’s good? Sorry if you mention it I’m only 2 min into your video.
I am trying to actually buy this camera…so videos like this has some meaning…but as you know, buying this camera is more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack… does anyone can shed a light on this?
The biggest thing i never saw anybody talk about is the inabilty to use CPL filters and the internal ND at the same time. It makes your image unusable.
@@KofiYeboah maybe you have a god tier filter lol. tbh i am really curious to know which filter you have. because the problem occurs on about 1/8 ND, for me it starts to colorshift massively, from the bottom left corner to the center
The only issue I have with the FX6 is the lack of Genlock. If it had that it would be a great camera for VR use. I hate that I am looking at a Komodo camera for that part of my business. Why Sony...Why?
The FX6 can only shoot in 120fps in S&Q??? has that been updated in a firmware? That doesn't seem right when all the Alpha bodies and FX3 can shoot normally and keep sound in 120fps ......
@@KofiYeboah Are you able to record 120fps in preres 422 on the Ninja V+? or is it RAW or H264/5 only? Also I can't find anywhere if we lose RAW if using catalyst to stabilize since that doesn't have IBIS. Sony website is basically saying it can't export as raw and can only export in limited formats which is going to lose all the color potential and raw controls and be annoying to edit on. Unless using a Mac, and then can still only export 422.......So either that info is wrong or it is a big turn off =/
@@thai_le_foto I don’t have a ninja V + so I wouldn’t know , you’re not going to get catalyst on raw footage , but tbh on resolve it has a built in stabilization so I’ve not missed much Raw vs 10-but , 10-bits more than fine especially bodybuilding shows tbh
@@KofiYeboah Yeah for any sort of shows or whatnot, it's not worth it, but for other video, I'm more of a colorist snob sort of speak and like a better professional color grade with maximum control and capability. RAW/even ProRes 422 grabs a lot of color that H265/4 isn't able to capture. I know DR has good stabilization and such, only one of the smaller reasons to use it, but it does tend to warp a bit randomly in weird situations. Confused how it's supposed to be stabilized otherwise though since Sony advertises it for raw as well.
@@thai_le_foto personally , I’ve been using it in bigger commercials ( Gymshark / Samsung) and had no issues, you can shoot pro res on the ninja just fine but if you want 120fps , the v+ might be a better bet
This camera setup is dope
All I heard was “make a rig video”
😂😂😂 I jk

We love to hear it ! Thanks !
Loving the fx6 content!
Blessed cause I have more soon :)
I’m loving the FX6 content, my man!
Thanks for always being straight to the point with no fluff 🔥
Absolutely, we get right to business here 🔥💯

Lol you read my mind, that videos coming soon!
Great video!
You can also just roll tape around your microphone until you have the preferred thickness and leave it as is. Saves you $20. I did that
The hard part is taking it off 😂😂
Thank you very much for your awesome content ! You got new subscriber 😉
Thanks and welcome !!

Did you adjust your settings to handle high heat?
Thanks for sharing my brother! I Amazing content! Keep up the good work!
Thanks again for watching !
Love the font. what font do you use?
Im going to buy this camera and only I have a question. I will buy first an cfexpress 160 gb type A, the size of the shots is big? Id need to buy 2?
Check out my video on the Angelbird 1tB CF Express type A card, might be a little bit more, but huge capacity
You do get 10bit when shooting 1080p XAVC-L. For 4k you need to shoot in XAVC-I for 10 bit.
You’re correct , I was referring to 4K

That’s a personal preference based on what kind of commercials you’d like , both are viable but have their own quirks to it
I guess the audio - gimbal trade off is due to peolpe using handheld and using the gyro data in catalyst browse to stabalize anyways. Idk if thats right, what do you think?
I mean to be fair I’ve never used catalyst browse lol
yup fx6 needs the sound accessory for sound with our the handle .
I wish they did !!
when do you think the next FX3 version is coming out
Your guess as good as mine 😅
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it more on the way!

Tbf because I don’t think it makes your footage unusable ? I’ve used the ND tons of times and I have a CPL on hand 😅

I was really bothered by the audio gig! that's a massive downfall, I hope they find a solution for that.
Same , but I doubt it
What’s wrong with the audio? No top handle means no audio?

@@KofiYeboah Me neither...until I needed to lock the camera to the Unreal program to get sync.
The XAVC-L thing is so frustrating to me. Upgraded my camera, just to go back to shooting 8-bit most of the time 🥲
@Realist I'm still debating on buying more V90s or just getting a Ninja V for long prores. Just not a huge fan of external recorders in general ._.
