Very entertaining and well done. The writer captures the Holmesian voice quite well, and the reading is excellent. Well thought-out story too. Thank you posting this. Are there other similar pastiches? Cheers. (PS: Alsace/Lorraine has historically been quite the pingpong ball.)

We were just in that local. It’s very interesting to hear this story after having been through the lands & hearing of the special language they used to have as well.

Cue the happy 💃🏻 dance! 🎉I just finished the one I was saving for the Christmas season this very morning on my way to work. I am enjoying these so very much. Thank you kindly for sharing these here on YT, I would have missed these gems if not.
I was hoping for a Christmas special but this one is opening in Spring 1897 & the last one ended in December 1896.., so no. That’s ok maybe next year. 🎉

It's a good story, well plotted and written, very intricate and interesting. The narration is beautifully done, really excellent and well worth listening to. The narrator's voice is pleasing, excellent to listen to, and his pacing is very professional.
My only problem is that the author seems to be too enamored of the trope of the "Femme Fatal". A female character who is beautiful and seductive. Using her wits and female wiles, she takes advantage of men to get whatever benefit she wants. That benefit is not always outright murder, but it always involves using and humiliating another person, usually men. What I find disturbing is that this character is never painted as a villain in the writer's stories. The audience is apparently supposed to sympathize entirely with her, and give her a free pass for whatever she has done wrong. While male villains are held to account for their crimes or abuses, this female character never is. I have listened to four of the author's stories so far, and three of them have involved such a "Femme Fatal" character. I am hoping the rest of the stories don't. If this is the author's attempt to write a "strong, female lead", it is not working. Using and abusing other people to get what you want is not an admirable characteristic, and does not make for an character I can sympathize with.

I agree, I love the stories but another thing I dont agree with is: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle made Holmes an enigma, different from other men in his intelligence and almost supernatural powers getting results in his cases. But, these stories have made him mediocre and more times than not he just barely solves his cases.

Do the British [etc.] celebrate Christmas Day on Dec. 15th? If so, why do the USA celebrate on Dec. 25th, is there a reason for the difference if this is so?

Why do I get the feeling this guy Holmes and his friend are American imposters that never encountered an English gentleman of those times ever. Maybe because this Sherlock thinks like an American 🤔 The stories are quite good, if you haven't had a relationship with the original books/stories. What about making those names nicknames for two americans that had Sherlock Holmes as idol 🤔 At least I hope the author at some point realize that he is far to conserned with that revolver. Shooting people is not the first solution for anyone but Americans and robbers. In fact it used to be the very last for most of us on the other sides of the ocean. I also agre with a previous comment on women. The author seems not to like them much. Again a glance at the originals may serve the copyist well.
