    I just learned Tensho kata a few weeks ago in my class, it is beautiful to see the creator himself doing such kata.

    • @user-fc1hn2gi5h

      He is not the creator of Tensho kata. The creater is master Miyagi from Okinawa. Oyama learned this kata from Yamaguchi- the disiple of Miyagi. Furthermore, Oyama made a mistake in this kata - can to find it?

    • @user-fc1hn2gi5h
      @user-fc1hn2gi5h 6 лет назад

      It was not a modification - Oyama just made a mistake. And you know it

    Interesting facts:
    1. The sword trick uses an actual sharp sword.
    2. That guy only missed the sword once. I said once.

    Is it just me or is the opening basically the same opening form as wing chun just wider motions?

    • @sallhame
      @sallhame 7 лет назад +3

      The opening is Tensho Kata. Oyamas favourite kata. A lot of karate movements origins from China, especially the circular movements. The Kanku Kata (Kanku is the symbol og Kyokushin) also came from China to Okinawa. It is now performed in many karate styles.

      Karate is derived from southern shaolin styles like white crane fist.

    • @yamiyomizuki
      @yamiyomizuki 5 лет назад +2

      @@pikudopikao8425 karate derives specifically ftom fujian minge he quan, or fujian calling crane, with 70% of goju ryuu being identical to ming he quan. I should mention that there is no particular evidence to link the southern white crane systems to Shaolin martial arts as such.

    • @yamiyomizuki
      @yamiyomizuki 5 лет назад +2

      Both wing chun and karate come from the family of fujian crane styles with goju ryu sharing 70% of its movements with fujian calling crane or ming he quan and wing chun being a modified form of yong chun bai he or yong chun white crane.

      @Deibler666 5 лет назад +1

      Some would say martialists should kick higher than their heads, but if elasticity is not your strength, then kick the most powerful low kicks. Usually grandmasters retire and show only some rituals for sake of demonstration. The skills of the apprentices are unquestionable.
