    When I wrestled collegiate, I was so blind/ignorant to the PED usage going on. Even heard of coaches that recommended their athletes to take them and I still didn't believe it was so rampant in sports at the collegiate level. Fast forward many years later, some of my old high school homies were just casually exchanging info on the kinds of steroids they were on. Not judging. I respect their honesty, but it made me realize that if they're just using it as enthusiastic lifters, not even competing, then forsure it's happening in professional sports. Especially when there's money on the line.
    I was so oblivious in that aspect until recently hahah
    I agree with Joe Rogan. There should be a roided league and a natural league in sports 😂

    • @robinmorales5365
      @robinmorales5365 Год назад +3

      I agree until the last sentence. Because a “natural” league will not work and will only create an uneven playing field. Athletes already get around drug testing anyways and find a way to cheat. If you have a steroid league, and a natural league, it won’t take long before athletes who cannot compete at the steroid league will switch to the natural leagues and begin taking steroids to have an advantage, which eventually would cause all other athletes to take steroids as well in order to stand a chance. A perfect example of this, is in the sport of bodybuilding. Bodybuilding already has a “natural” class, but every single dude in that class is on steroids, they are just not as big as the guys in the open class or even classic physique, but they are definitely not natural. And let’s not forget, not every sporting company, or sporting event, has the money to afford a drug testing organization like USADA, so a lot of their drug tests are not as comprehensive, or as often occurring; in other words, they are not getting tested like ufc fighters are. So, in my opinion, having a natural league is a waste of time, which will only create unfairness, so the best solution that I can see is to just allow steroids in sports and that’s it. Make it all legal and fair game. And if you think about it, if steroids were to be legal, not only will all athletes be on the same page, but research on steroids will continue, which can result in scientists developing safer steroids with less side effects.

    PEDs are Everywhere especially in combat sports as Diaz always said "Everyone is on steroids"
    I am a former professional fighter that was taking steroids for bodybuilding training, before I began training in martial arts.
    I actually stopped taking them thanks to me training and competing in combat sports!
    I guess I did it the wrong way for performance, but the right way morally.
    I will say, I always felt like the juice had always given me an advantage, especially when I first got started in training.
    Even years after stopping the Peds completely.
    I still only have to pick up weight and my muscles grow!
    I have little or no regrets about Peds, because it was a part of my personal journey at that time.
    Like I said, thanks to combat sports I actually stopped taking them.
    Still, I have always remained curious about things might have been and development had I not ever taken steroids?

    Thank you coach! We share very similar views on this and I’ve always felt like a bit of an outcast for my views on PEDs. It’s a relief to hear someone so high level express these beliefs. I’d be so mad even if I found out my gym partners were on PEDs. I love bjj but I’m very prone to injuries and always have been. Why should I risk my brittle-ass body training with cheaters?
    The only exception I make is for older people using TRT to get roughly in the ballpark of an 18 to 25yr old’s testosterone levels. As long as it’s a normal test ratio I say go nuts old man. No reason older people should have to stop having fun in bjj class

      a 60yr old man wanting the testosterone level of a 18yr old isnt normal just because you want to build more muscle than a person should be able to at that age. Thats a weird ass belief that you cant have "fun" doing bjj if you're not doing juiced. The mental gymnastics for old people is as warped as for
      competitors.

      @@vlada So people can take multi vitamins, protein powders, cryo therapy, etc all of which are not natural but you can't take a "PED". There is no multi vitamin plant, no protein powder fruit. It's all made in labs and factories. It's all meant t o enhance your performance. There's no logical reason why athletes shouldn't be able to use so called PED's. You can shoot all kinds of substances into your body for a better butt, tighter skin etc., but heaven forbid you try to run faster, jump higher or lift more.The argument about "safety" is weak as well. The purpose of combat sports is literally to hurt another human being. Most of the trauma fighters take is actually from training. Taking a "PED" doesn't magically give you skill, strength, or speed. You still have to put in the work. It also doesn't have anything to do with whether or not a technique is effective or not. Just because a instructor uses so called "PEDs" that doesn't mean what they are teaching you isn't valid.

    I think PEDs should be allowed but disclosed. I agree with what you said, Coach. It's a danger to one's health, but so is getting hit in the head with or without PEDs. As long as the promotion discloses that PED use is allowed and fighters are aware of the risk, then there should be no issue.

      I wonder if you elaborated that allowing ped in competition makes doping mandatory for everyone and therefore to ruin your health and become a junkie if you want to compete. • @theguardian3431
      @theguardian3431 Год назад

      @@PinkiesBrain you make a good point but you ruin your chances at being persuasive by calling anyone who holds opinions different than you as stupid. The reality of the matter is that most competitive sports have doping. The competitiveness intrinsic in each sport push these young kids to to PEDs regardless. The problem with banning it is that it forces these young kids to dope in the shadows under questionable circumstances.
      So, the question is, would you rather have them engage in PEDs openly and in a manner that is safe for them where docotrs and science can have a chance at improving their overall health? Or would you rather have these kids dope in secret and risk their health and lives even more so that you can feel better about your unsuccessful gotcha game?
