- Alex Payne is finally allowed to pick the subject matter for GB&R and so he sets James Haskell and Mike Tindall the simple task of picking the greatest British and Irish Lions 15 of the professional era. Together the three of them stumble their way through what they believe is the best team - made up of great Lions performers - to win a one-off test match. Who makes it......who are the big omissions.....and who will never speak to Tinds and Hask again after this?

That was quality, well done lads. Love it how Payno tried to break his own rules by reverting back to the 1989 tour to try & get his hero Guscott in there ahead of Drico, and Hask's memory on O'Driscoll at 15 in 2001 was outstanding nause knowledge. Well enjoyed by a kiwi stuck in lockdown in Canada. Request for Dallaglio guest appearance soon please.

Within 1 minute the t&c's went out of the window and players were chosen based on a single performance rather than multiple test wins.
The match where BOD played 15 that Hask mentioned was the opening tour game against Western Australia, which the Lions won 116-10. BOD scored a try but it was the sort of game where literally even the ref should have scored!

Adam Jones must warrant a mention surely? Shored up the scrum in 2009 then dominant in 2013.
Also, Alun Wyn Jones didn't start 9 consecutive tests. He was dropped to the bench for the 2nd and 3rd Test in '09 in favour of Shaw.
Great fun and interesting to hear the opinion of people who know far more about rugby than I do as an ardent fan. Interestingly it's not far from the team I picked. Either way, and allegiance side that's a great team.

If Hask fancies getting better at clays then he should give Ben Husthwaite a shout. Rugby player, champion clay shooter and a great coach.

Greatest (English) Lions 15 ever, certainly started that way. Lol was a great player but if you can’t get the 8 jersey on the tour your on it probably means that you weren’t the best 8 on that tour let alone the pro era.
