As a Brit who’s pro-Europe, I’ve found that laughing at the absolute cluster f**k that’s going on is my only coping mechanism....

What I would say though is, that in my opinion, UK and US politics have been infected by the same disease. Truth and integrity in politics has disappeared, partisanship has taken control and politicians can say anything they like with impunity, as long as they shout loud enough.
I would caution against other EU countries laughing too loudly though, because there are cracks appearing in France, Spain, Italy and Germany...

Scotland can join the EU or stay in it, depends how it works out. Annoyingly the rules are that new members of the EU have to have the euro as their currency, but hopefully that wouldn't happen to Scotland as the country has been in the EU since the 70s but as part of a union in the UK. There are countries like Denmark, Sweden who still use their own currency. England can't stop other countries using the pound sterling. A country can use any trading currency. Obviously, if you don't have your own currency then you can't print it etc.

It should have been an easy deal, but unfortunately there are too many people trying to prevent a deal or successful exit. Things like the vote to prevent a no deal brexit severely weakens Britain's negotiating position and the EU can't have Britain leave and be successful or other countries will likely follow. The simple fact is that it's the media bosses and elite classes that are pushing so hard to stay and it's the lower classes and low paid workers wanting to leave.

We did alot of bad but we had more respect for Indian culture than Mughal emperors like Jahangir or Aurangzeb who destroyed temples, killed Sikh Gurus and then placed the Jizya onto the populace. The British were never as brutal as other contemporary invaders like Nadr Shah or Muhammad Durrani, or older ones like Timur Lang or Muhammad of Ghazni.
